jkrdevil
They've played that music for years when introducing the lineups. For both home and away, they played that while introducing the Red Sox too.
bosox
Anyone know if its blacked-out on ESPN2 in New York? It seems like it, and I'm not really in the mood at watch YES, even if Paul Oneil is on it. Damn blackout restrictions. Its opening fricking day....
CaolinaJoe
Screw the O's JOE! ouch! "It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of thepress. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom ofspeech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given usthe freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes theflag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, andwho allows the protester to burn the flag."Marine Chaplain Dennis Edward O' Brien

Yes, due to this game is not part of the regular ESPN package. That means the game is blackout in the local teams markets. Thus in NY and Boston it's a local telecast. Swiss
The Red Sox are supposed to be the heros... like Luke and Co. in Star Wars' films. It's because the Yankees are dubbed "The Evil Empire". slapshot
That's not revenge. It's just game 1 of 162.Revenge would be beating sweeping the season series 19-0. Or defeating the Sox in the ALCS. After trailing 3 games to 0.This is just a game. Which doesn't change the fact,THE RED SOX ARE DEFENDING WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!!!! yankeeman161
yes matsui saved the day when he robbed bill muller of a 2 run home run. wouldnt have made a difference anyway cause the yanks drew first blood and it would have been 9-4. yanks 1, sox 0, a long way to go red sox nation! It was Kevin Millar, not Bill Mueller, whose home run was robbed by Matsui.2. The Red Sox drew first blood, leading 1-0, then the Yankees came back to tie it in the bottom of the second. Had the home run not been robbed, the Sox would have been up 2-0 with no outs in the second, that's a different story than a 2-out single which brings in a run.3. It's game 1 of 161. Flip the results for the next games, and start panicking, because both teams will be .500. The season is just as long for the Yankees as it is Red Sox Nation. Eighteen more games between the two teams, plus 143 games against everyone else. Back-to-Back Fatal Forty Champion 2015 & 2016
