OK, im pretty sure i remember the Blue Jackets having a logo that was a bee when they first joined the league, but it was never used. Can anyone confirm this, and if this was true, why wasnt it used?

it was used... for most of their existence.

it was used on the shoulders of their home and road jerseys for every game, up until they unvieled their alternate jersey... then they dropped the logo (finally, after a few years of being laughing stocks of the league by wearing it), and went with the civil war themed shoulder patches.

LOL, I remember the Stinger-themed logos. Apparently, too many people had a misconception of what a Blue Jacket was (note: "getting" a team name should never take that much research :P ) that they phased out the bugger, with the exception of the kids' mascot.

here you can see it on tugger's sweater and his mask:

The best thing about that pic is the amount of people in the stands. :P

everyone i know loves the alternate jersey, but i'm a real fan of the homes, now that they dropped the bug.

now if only they'd drop the lime green stick in the logo, and the lime green on the gloves... just red white and blue, and they'd be styling... i wouldn't mind getting a rick nash or nik zherdev jersey.

God, I know, I hate that lime green, just doesn't work. And if I can ever find a cheap Nash 3rd jersey, I'd buy it in a heart beat. It's definitly my favorite jersey. The home and away are nice too, it's just the 3rd is so nice, i could never think of getting one of those over the 3rd.

not too bad given this is a skating practice shot taken at least an hour before puck drop.

I'd love to see that same shot at a Sharks game, or even a Sacramento Kings game...

Of all the games broadcasts I saw from Columbus the fans were at least 50% (to 75%) noisier and livelier than those damn suits at the ACC (Toronto Maple Leafs).

If California is deserving of 2 franchises, then Ohio should have 3... pick the cities...

I remember on ESPN's ultimate team ranking (where they ranked all Big 4 pro sports teams) that Columbus was actually #1 in terms of arena experience, beating out my hometown's beloved Xcel Energy Center (#2). I never understood it, but in Columbus they MUST be doing something right.

California has three teams: Anaheim, Los Angeles, and San Jose.

LOSER!!!

(me...)

Then, Ohio needs 4 teams...

Columbus does have a great set of sweaters in their collection. It was nice to see them drop the "bug" logos off the shoulders. The color sceme for the clu is solid.

The club has done a great job with putting out a great experience for fans at the rink. Especially is a market that was not know for its hockey fan base. Columbus has definately put themselves on the map. The experience outside the building with all of the restaurants and pubs is also a big plus. After traveling the league circuit for many years, this place is one of my favorite stops.

Yeah, I went to Columbus this past march and went by the arena. It was real nice with all the resturants and places around it. It was in a real nice area. I could only imagine it on gameday.

you've been there? It's called the Arena District, now think how cool it will be in a few years when the clipper's new stadium is built there, I can't wait. ESPN ranked it the number 1 stadium experience in professional sports. I know that because they tell you every ten seconds. When hockey is being played I usually get to about fifteen games a year. It's the only place I have ever seen an NHL game and I wouldn't have it any other way. and it is pretty much always sold out which is sweet.

on a sidenote our third jerseys are the best in the league, I own two, one is a rick nash, the other is blank. I think i'm going to put it on right now.
