Rams to wear all blue this Sunday?

From Tim McKernan at insidestl.com

A Rams source says the team is planning to wear blue jerseys and blue pants for the first time this Sunday as a sign of team unity.

Some players came up with the idea after the Sports Illustrated article this past week indicated there are lots of problems at Rams Park.

Since switching from the old yellow and blue jerseys after winning the Super Bowl in January of 2000, the Rams have worn the blue pants only twice during the regular season (on the road in New York and Seattle in 2003). They lost both of those games, and Mike Martz had the team go back to the gold pants they had worn for the previous three seasons (and have worn in every road game since).

What the fluff is with these players and the monochromes!

Despite what almost everyone thinks, Monochromes usually look very good.

If almost everyone thinks they are ugly, and you like them, guess what, your statement is wrong!

It's fine to say, "despite what everyone thinks, I like them." But you are saying, "almost everyone doesn't like them, and I do, and I'm right." Face it, you're in the minority on this subject...

Kid are you serious I'd rather look at blue jerseys and white pants all day long instead of the all blue mess we will see this Sunday. Monochromes do not look good. They look unprofessional.

I really cant figure it out. What is it exactly that you dislike about the monochromes compared to a uni set with white pants? And ill even admit in MOST cases teams look better with colored pants and a white jersey and vice versa, as in the case with the Redskins, Raiders, and Cheifs (God Forbid we ever see these teams in monochrome). But, Monochrome, when done right, looks awesome (As in the case of the Seahawks and the Jags Alt unis (yes, i like both of these looks)). And ill admit, its really hard to pull off a colored monochrome set in the NFL today, but in some cases, as i feel will happen with the Rams (Depending on how the pants stipes match up) will have a solid look in all blue. One thing you can never change my mind on though, a good white monochrome cant be beat.

Please try and be a bit logical here. If i had said that despite what EVERYONE thinks, monochromes usually look very good, then yes, youd be correct. That right there is an over generalization and a contradiction to my own statement. Now if youll read the post you quoted, i didnt say that now did I?

Overgeneralization Fallacy

Straw Man Fallacy

Please dont put words into my mouth son. And BTW, heres the entire list, get to know them. Commonly used fallacies

I think monochrome looks good when everything is one color (you know, hence "monochrome"). The Bears, Seahawks and Jags monochrome uniforms look much, much better than the old Cardinals, current Bills, or proposed Rams uniforms. I can't see a gold helmet topping all that blue as a good look.

The Seahawks best looks are the blue/white and white /blue. I like their all white. Actually I have no problem with anyone in all white. I love the Bucs dark color mix of red and pewter but the Rams in all blue c'mon that is a joke. It is almost as bad as when the Pats tried it the year after their first Superbowl and the fans nearly revolted because it looks cheap.

When did the Rams get a gold helmet

Well then we'll agree to disagree. I feel that the Hawks in all blue is in my top five favorite unis in the NFL. When they wear the blue jerseys with the white pants, it drops to my worst in the NFL.

But thats just me......

Why not? monochromes are worn in basketball, right? Unless you're Kansas State that year they screwed up the throwback day and had the two different shades of purple (image, please!)

They didn't screw up the throwbacks. That's pretty much what they wore for a good few years at K-State. Sad but true.

As far as basketball goes, comparing monochromes in one sport to monochromes in another is really a pointless comparison. By that logic, we should all be asking why football couldn't be more like baseball, and have white jerseys and pants for home games, and gray jerseys and pants for road games. Each sport has its own clothing tradition - hockey teams wear one pair of breezers for home and road, baseball wears gray on the road, and so on. For basketball, monochromes are the norm, and to wear otherwise looks terribly out of place. To use that to justify monochromes in a sport where traditionally colored monochrome uniforms are not the custom is a poor justification.

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
