It's like the Mechanics and Quad City Mallards are having a competition for who can have the crappiest special jersey the UHL

Those warmups for the Mechs are fuh-glee...they look like a NASCAR pit crew.

Still doesn't compare to those awful awful awful Mallards "Cowduck" jerseys last season...

As for those Mechs Xmas jerseys...they could be a lot worse. I like the idea of having the Motown skyline (and the added touch of the Ambassador Bridge on the sleeves too) on it and the Santa hat on the Mechs logo is a decent touch as well...The colors...well, maybe they might not be so bad when we see em in action (they're wearing em on the ice on Saturday...there'll probably be pics up shortly thereafter.).

However, I do have to agree...it'd have been a bit more proper to put downtown Fraser on there seeing that's where they play out of (ah, the Garage...probably the only arena in the league that's colder than the DIA or the IMA.)..then again, there's not much there along Utica or 14 or 15 Mile that you could show on a jersey to begin with  (and yes, I can bust on it seeing that...1) I've been there a few times before and 2) my fiancee lives right down the road in Center Line )

The Mechanics warmups are bad too.

Now there is something wrong with that! :D

oh my!

Is this meant as some kind of a distraction for the players? I mean how can you concentrate on scoring goals when all you keep thinking about is god dammned Big Macs!

Thank God the team sponser isn't Tampax...

Nah, Tampax sponsors the Adirondack Frostbite  (not really....just had to get a tiny dig at my guys arch rivals in the U)

As for these...way to look like a NASCAR pit crew, Mechanics! They're almost as bad as the warmups the P-Bruins had a few years ago, where they added hot pink and orange stripes on the black jersey in honor of their sponsor, Dunkin Donuts.

Thats fine with me, I live in Danbury home of the UHL's Trashers. So we pretty much can't stand the Frostbite, because they kick our ass on a regular basis.

Wow...fellow Danbury-ite!

I'm from over in Woodbury (about 1/2 hour from the DIA if traffic on White St. and 84 co-operates  )

STH for the Trashers as well too (right in the middle of 102 as a matter of fact :hockeysmiley: )...

By the way, are we Danburians? Danburites? Hat Citizens?

I live literally a stones throw from DHS. If someone on the softball field hit a bad foul ball they'd probably land it in my yard.

84 NEVER cooperates

Are you in the design field?

Being proud of Detroit is just wrong. Plus, if they wanted to be correct, they should've put 'downtown' Fraser on the uniform... :D  :D  :D

what the fluff is wrong with having pride in being from detroit? if you are actually from the city, and not a 'burb, you might have some pride in it.

the mechanics play at hockeyland, right? kinda funny, i played alot of my youth hockey there. a grid of the 14 mile road / 15 mile road / Utica Road corridor would have worked much better for this jersey. or at the very least, a silhouette of the old Penalty Box Pizzeria that used to be in the parking lot of the complex. :D

There really is nothing in Detroit. I want to have pride in Detroit, but really, it sucks. The only time I go to the D is for sporting events. It's sad, because going to other cities you see what Detroit could be. It was more of a tongue-in-cheek comment, but with a little truth. And yes, the Mechanics play in Fraser. That's where I played last season (a long drive from AA!). The Penalty Box is now Shooters. Still a decent place, but never what it was back when I was in mite and squirt and it was Frank's Place. THAT was some good pizza.

So you're saying I have nothing to look forward to when I go to Detroit in about 2 weeks. I finally get to see my Red Wings play, but I hafat drive about 8 hours to do so. I'll probably be around Wayne State's campus for the most part, but obviously I'll hafta check stuff out, especially since my Lions are in town that weekend. Any suggestions of cool places to see?

Well, there's the casinos (MGM Grand, Motor City, and Greektown)...personally, I'd go with Greektown as the place to hit...don't necessarilly have to gamble though, there's plenty of good restaurants down there in that part of town.

There's also the Detroit Institute of Art if you're into that...

If ya got your passport on ya, there's always a trip across the Ambassador Bridge and Windsor...

Other than that...well, when I'm out there, I tend to stay north of Detroit proper
