NFL Draft 2006

Okay, now that the important part of the draft order is set, what do you think the draft order will/should be?

I think it'll be...

1. HOU - "HB" Reggie Bush (USC)

2. NO - "QB" Vince Young (Texas)

3. TEN - "QB" Matt Leinart (USC)

4. NYJ - "OT" D'Brickashaw Ferguson (Virginia)

Okay, the Texans will take Reggie Bush because they still have faith in David Carr, as do I, but also because you just can't pass up a possible reincarnation of Barry Sanders. New Orleans, I believe, will take Young because they are just done with Aaron Brooks (as evidenced by his benching at the end of this season), and rightfully need to go in another direction. Young will be an exciting player in the NFL, or at least I think so, and he could help fill some seats wherever the Saints are playing next year. He will also fit better in their offense a heck of a lot better than Leinart would. The Tennessee Titans will then take Leinart for two big reasons: he is the best player still available number one, number two Steve McNair is getting old and they've got to start thinking about life without McNair. The Jets will then get Ferguson because he is the best left, and they still have to fill that hole left after Kareem McKenzie took off last year.

However, if i'm the Jets I'm definately trying to trade up for a top QB. I just don't think Pennington, with his shoulder problems, is looking too good for the future.

Also, the Dolphins have got to get a QB, unless they are honestly planning to have freakin' Gus Frerotte as their quarterback or the future. I mean, sure he did have a pretty decent season, but I just don't know if it'll happen again. But of course I could be wrong. It'll probably be Jay Cutler out of Vanderbilt if they do get a quarterback.

I would love to see the Jets fans after they draft a tackle at #4 :P

2-HO-QB-Matt Leinart

3-TEN-QB-Vince Young

4-NYJ-OT-D'Brickashaw Ferguson

8-BUF-OT-Eric Winston (Miami-FL) or DT-Haloti Ngata (Oregon)

I'll tell you right now as a Jets fan that that pick would suck!!

We want Leinart!

Probably have to trade up to get him

That I know. You think the Saints would deal the #2 pick for the Jets' #4 pick and their second rounder?? I hope so. The Jets need to make a move for Leinart.

If I'm the Saints I'm not dealing that pick. There are two QBs on the board which would be verrry helpful in getting fans to show up depending on where they move (Young for San Antonio, Leinart for Los Angeles)

I doubt that the NY Jets will be able/willing to offer enough to the Saints for that pick. I certainly would like to see Leinart as a Jet though because I think that he is going to be a good player in the NFL. It would be nice to see New York get it done, plus I don't want the great player Ferguson is to get the living daylights booed out of him by Jets fans on draft day.

It's a well known fact that John Abraham wants out of New York. Maybe the Saints would agree to a dea that would send Abraham and the #4 overall to New York for the #2 selection which would get us Matt Leinart.

Jets fans will boo any pick that is not Reggie Bush or Matt Leinart ... I guarantee it.

My Mock:

#1 HOU- Reggie Bush (USC)

#2 NO- Matt Leinart (USC)

#3 TEN- Vince Young (Texas)

#4 NYJ- DeAngelo Williams (Memphis)

#5 GB- Mario Williams (NC State)

#13 BAL- Jay Cutler (Vanderbilt)

I imagine the Jets will trade down to a stop where they can still get Williams. Baltimore's pick is tough. Early I would have been certain they would take Cutler if available. However Boller has shown some potential. For now, I predict we will take Cutler.

If Cutler blows people away at the combine he wont get to 13 dude.Kiper predicted he would go to the Lions at 9

And as much love as Jets fans may have for Matt Leinert,i honestly dont see them puting there multi million dollar injury prone cap hit out to pasture just yet.but thats just my opinion :)

I can't see the Saints agreeing to move down below #3 in this draft. They need a QB after Aaron Brooks got benched and the Todd Bouman experiment. The Jets might just have to sell the farm to the Saints if they want to get the #2 pick. The Saints could move up or down one spot, but I doubt they'll get themselves into a situation where they can't get Bush, Leinart or Young.

The Titans might be a better target for the Jets to trade with. They might be able to hold off on drafting a QB and play Steve McNair for another year or two. And if New Orleans picks Young second, then the Jets will still have a shot at Leinart. Even if not, Young can be a great QB anyway. The Titans can take Ferguson to protect McNair for another year.

it's funny i am doing a dynasty on madden 06 with the texans and I was picking 6th in the draft. I figured, there is no way bush will slip to me- well- he did. So that part remains accurate.

yeah it will likely be

1. bush

2. leinart

3. young

those are the first three and i am sticking to it

why is it that Jets fans are giving up on Pennington already? Sure hes been hurt, but if he ever gets back to full strength, which i think he will, he'll be back to near his 2002 stats IMO.

Chad Pennington will never win us a Super Bowl. He's a good starter, but will never take the Jets past the second round in the playoffs. We need a stud QB like the one that won us our last title. We want Broadway Matt!!
