Vintage Hardee's Logo

Wow, this thread went into places I didn't expect... which is awesome!

I used to eat at Carl's Jr. out west when I drove a truck, and I got excited when they bought Hardee's, but I really don't think the two taste the same, though it has been five years since I last had Carl's Jr. Hardee's has definitely improved a bunch. I miss the fried chicken, though: we haven't had that here in years. We lost Slammers, too.

The Days of Thunder cars were great, but Cale's old 28 car was one of the nicest schemes I've ever seen. I have always loved that car.

As recently as two years ago you could still see the remnants of a billboard with the brown and orange Hardee's logo on it around here. I wore those ugly brown unis in high school, and the minimum wage wasn't worth it.

A little off topic, but does the Carl's Jr./Hardee's logo remind anyone of this from Super Mario Bros.?

The first time I saw a Carl's Jr. logo, I instinctively thought of getting the star to become invincible.

I guess that's where the mushrooms for the Mushroom & Swiss Burger come from...

We have Slammers (seem to have just got them in the past few years) here in South Carolina and also have fried chicken in many places although a lot many Hardees have removed it.

We also had the Six Dollar Burger with Hardees. Anyone remember "The Boss" burger from Hardees that tried to mimick the Big Mac sauce?

Want to know the best thing about Hardees? Spicy Chicken Sandwich for $1.

And believe it or not, there are a few Hardees around here that still have the brown/blue/orange color scheme instead of the Red/Yellow star. Now they have slightly changed to a Hardees 'baseball' jersey looking script with the star. I think it's an improvement!

That logo was from the back-in-the-day Hardee's when the big selling point was

"Hurry on down to Hardee's

Where the burgers are charcoal-broiled."

They did have a distinctive taste then - then they faded out the charcoal and tasted like everybody else. Hardee's did a big fade and is just starting to come back.

The one thing that saved the chain long enough for Carl's to take it over was breakfast - good biscuits and sausage.

Wtf? Where the hell do you live at?

Just ignore him. He lives in the land where kids his age are all tight jean wearing, black makeup sporting, wrist slitting, crying over nothing, babies, otherwise known as emoland. They wouldnt yet have fast food chains there yet.
