slapshot
LeCroy sucked, Robinson benched him. Life goes on.My question is, why the hell did it take so long for Robinson to act? Seven stolen bases and two errors? Did he think five or six might have just been a fluke? Back-to-Back Fatal Forty Champion 2015 & 2016

HatCityEnforcer
Sheesh, I coulda told ya Matt LeCroy was a hideous catcher...knew that when I saw him in AA with New Britain. There was a reason why he was always the DH when he was there and with the Twins.I think even Yao Ming could have stolen a base off of him.... FiddySicks
I gained a lot of respect for Robinson yesterday. Anyone who shows that kind of passion for the game AFTER a win deserves to be manager for a long time. Too bad he'll probably get dumped after the year if Washington doesnt make the playoffs. Id take Robinson as my manager any day. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) marlinfan
The only person that's going to be dumped is Bowden. There is only so much one can do with the roster given. 1997 | 2003
buildingmaint
Who did Robinson put in his place? If he had a better catcher on the bench why did he start LeCroy?Sounds like MR Robinson has reason to cry , hi managerial skills are questionable

Yeah he's managed the Cleveland Indians when they were atrocious. The Baltimore Orioles when they lost something like 21(?) to start a season. Then he's managed the ownerless Expos/Nationals. If he had something to work with I'm sure he'd be a lot better than his managerial record. I don't know if he's managed anywhere else besides CLE, BAL and MTL/WSH. Frank Robinson is a darn good manager. I don't think there's a player who wouldn't want to play for a baseball legend like Robinson. Give the man credit, he guided the Expos to a couple of winning seasons, and had the Nationals in first place for a long while before the bullpen got tired. He went to and won the World series in his first season with the Orioles in 1966, and then made three more trips to the series in 1969, 1970 and 1971."Never been to the playoffs."Yeah, right. He managed the Giants in the early 80s...He did also manage to get the O's from losing their first 21 in 1988 to being in the pennant race in the East until the final weekend of the year in 1989 in what had to be the greatest turn-around in baseball (or sports) history.
