Brewers Fans...

I'm just wondering, am I the only Brewers fan who feels so jaded by the Sleeze-ig Regime that no matter how good the Brewers do, you just feel like it's gonna :censored: up sooner or later?

I've actually avoided a lot of the games I had a chance to see because I feel like I'm gonna be watching the start of a meltdown. And then they lose like they did today and I feel like if I allow myself to get all into it I'm just gonna be letdown even harder.

I've waited 15 years for another season like this... and now I'm too gun-shy watch the games. This :censored:in' sucks!!! lol

Im sure a lot of Tigers fans were in the same boat last year, but it turned out just fine for them, so why not try to be positive?

Yeah, just stay positive. The Brewers have a very good baseball team this year. They haven't been as good as they have been because of a fluke. A lot of talent. Young talent.

Dont worry Brewers fans you are legit and I think you will get the NL Central, weather you go far in the playoffs I dont know but just getting there will be a big step.

Nope, this team is for real. Why avoid games? This is the season to go because it's going to be a big season in Brewers history. If ya got the tickets go to the game, and enjoy! :D

Exactly. I'm going to try and get to as many games as my time and my finances will allow for. I'm also trying to get my girlfriend interested in baseball and the Brewers, she's originally from Pennsylvania and grew up a hockey fan. She loves tailgating and going to games, but doesn't watch any of the baseball.

I try to watch when I can, and I really hope for the best for the Crew. Yet, I still think that it's going to happen sooner or later. And you know what really messes things up? All of the crazed Cubs fans who wander north of the border.

So were we in '97...speaking of Buccaneer nation, and the year it all finally came together for our beloved Buccaneers. Even though I've been a passionate advocate of sir Bruce and the boys that wore him on his helmet even back in the days when they sucked more than Heather Brooke AND Lil' Kim, I would always pull for my creamsicle cronies. In '96, we saw the development of something take hold (even though we finished just 5-11 that year), and the next year...we turned the corner, and--well, up until last year, ain't looked back since.

So gon' ahead and support your Brew Crew...I am, from over here in Steeltown. (nd ain't it jsut the coolest thing that that squad has the sons of TWO baseball greats on it...Prince Fielder AND Tony Gwynn, Jr.? How can you NOT love that? Plus, with Ben Sheets throwing hard again and J.J. Hardy starting to show up...hey, this squad could be the Royals of two or three years ago...or even better yet, last year's Tigers!

But the Royals of 2003 choked in August pulling out of the chance for a wild card birth even after leading the entire division in the first two months of the season. I always forget that team and then remember they had Carlos Beltran and Jose Lima. It was fun to watch the Royals win that season though. But Brewers fans, be the Tigers and don't worry about "jinxing" them, go out there and support your team.

The Brewers should win 85-90 games this years. Even if they dont make the playoff, They're now ready to compete.

I think the Brewers are for real and will win the Central but the playoffs will be a quick exit, as there weakness will get exposed.

Yup. I remember that first game against San Fran and just simply stomping em. In fact, if im not mistaken, we took out both Rice AND Young in the same game.

I don't remember the Young injury but is that the game where Rice tore his ACL and MCL running a reverse?

And out of curiosity, Tank... what's there weakness? Their starters have been good... the back end of the Bullpen is among the tops in the League, and their lineup can put a ton of runs up. I guess it would be there rotation? Still -- they'd be throwing Ben Sheets, Jeff Suppan, Chris Capuano, and one other in their playoff rotation. That's not much of a weakness to me.

I think so. I just remember it was a knee injury, and that Rice came back from it amazingly fast. And Young got a concussion, but kept playing.

Yeah, Rice came back from it, I think, in time to play in week 14 and ended up suffering from another injury. Still, though... that's a ridiculously quick recovery.

Youth and lack of playoff experience other then Suppan.

Another victim of the Kool-Aid, apparently.

Don't get me wrong - the Brewers appear to be a great young team that was brought along together and they really have the potential for a solid team for the foreseeable future. I went to the game against the Phillies Monday night at CBP, and they've got a lineup that absolutely crushes the ball, 1-7 (Graffanino in the #8 spot... sorry). They have a talented young rotation and a lights-out closer.

But before we go awarding them the World Series, let's see them win when it counts, win on the road, and shore up their bullpen. One lefty won't be enough to get it done, and I watched Derrick Turnbow melt down on consecutive nights. There's a reason he's bounced from organization to organization; he has a million-dollar arm and a 10-cent head. And he thinks he has the stuff to close? Not right now, hoss.

Let's also remind ourselves who the Brewers have beaten to assemble this great record. They have had a ton of home games and picked on the weak sisters of the NL Central. This road trip has exposed them as less-than-solid, dropping 2 of 3 at Shea and the first 3 against a VERY average Phillies team.

I still think they'll win the Central. But coming from a jaded Philadelphia fan, I'm telling you don't go betting your mortgage payments on Bud's Boys just yet.

"Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

Damn you, Michael! Just when I finally start identifying a feel-good story to keep an eye on (even though I really could care less for baseball in general)...you have to go and remind me that this is (was? is?) Bud Selig's squad, who I could really give 2/5 of a f*** about.

Great. F'ing great, Mike.
