I wonder though. If we end up with just one undefeated team in the Football Bowl Subdivision, then they should be in the national championship, right? At the very least, a BCS spot is due them.

I agree 100%. If Hawaii goes 12-0 they should get a shot in the championship game. I watched them last night against Boise State. I don't care how "weak" their schedule is. I wouldn't want to play them. They would give anyone a game.

I also thought Boise State deserved a shot last year. The gap between the LSUs and The Hawaiis isn't that large anymore. It's time to stop acting like there's no way in Hell a WAC team could beat an SEC or Big 12 team etc. Boise State proved it wrong last year and all the upsets have driven it home this year. Give The Rainbows...errr...Warriors their shot.

How cool would a Kansas-Hawaii BCS Championship game be?

The CIS has crowned it's Football Champion last night in the Grey Cup. Manitoba beat St. Mary's 28-14, in a game where they lost their starting running back in the first half, to one of the most gruesome injuries you'll ever see; a broken femur.

It's actually the Vanier Cup that is awarded to the Canadian University football champion. The Grey Cup is the CFL championship to be played on Sunday.

Haha Brain fart on my part. But that gets me thinking, maybe the Vanier Cup and Grey Cup should be held in the same place every year. By that I mean what ever city is hosting the Grey Cup, they can also host the Vanier Cup.

Well, I think we can pencil UConn in for the Meineke Car Care Bowl after that 66-21 pasting they got down in Morgantown today...

So, if they win out, WVU is in for the National Championship game no matter what, right? And OSU can only get in if WVU (at this point -- they got the other help they needed from LSU and others) loses next week?

Hmmm, looks to me like Missou may just be in the process of creating even more of a BCS headspin. Heres my new prediction. The BCS Championship game is gonna be McNeese State vs College of the Sequoias. Book it.

Now that Georgia's regular season has ended, they're most likely heading to a BCS bowl game.

As of right now, UGA needs a few things to happen to possibly sniff the National Championship:

1. Kansas or Missouri to lose tonight.

2. West Virginia to lose to Pittsburgh.

3. The winner of the Big XII North to lose in the Big XII Championship Game.

4. LSU to lose to Tennessee in the SEC Championship. (LSU might not drop enough in the polls this weekend.)

Another quirky thing: If UCLA beats USC and Arizona beats Arizona State, a 7-5 UCLA would be in the Rose Bowl.

Here's how it works for Ohio State as I see it.

1. Missouri needs to win tonight then lose to Oklahoma in the Big XII title game. That leaves Kansas in the same position Michigan was in last season, a one-loss team that didn't win it's conference. If Kansas still gets an invite to the title game after not winning the conference then I think Michigan fans should storm BCS headquarters and have a public hanging.

2. Kansas wins tonight and loses to Oklahoma in the Big XII title game. Same scenario as above.

Or...

3. West Virginia loses to Pitt which ain't likely.

That said, the way anti-Ohio State sentiment is running rampant in the media and everywhere else right now, the only way I see any of the above scenarios resulting in Ohio State in the title game is if a plane crash takes out Kansas and West Virginia. Hawaii has a better shot at the title game at this point. I really believe that if Kansas is left standing with one-loss but didn't win the conference that we'll see the exact opposite of what happened last year. And Michigan will finally have a legitimate argument...a year after the fact.

For the record, I'm normally against Ohio State in any fashion. However, my list of schools and conferences I hate begins with Miami at number one, Notre Dame at number two, the entire SEC, the entire Big XII, and the entire ACC. I know, that's a lot of hatred, and it only leaves me with the Big East (the conference enveloping the region in which I grew up), the Pac 10 (which houses my current school), and the Big Ten, which I always viewed as the prototype football conference. However, I normally put OSU up there with Notre Dame and UM, but this season, I don't have it in me. They've played and won almost all of their games. They're as legitimate as any other conference.

That said, I'm excited that WVU has a very real chance of representing the Big East in the National Championship game. The Big East started hot, but definitely faded as the season went on. However, it's still a better football conference than the ACC which is really all I ever want each year.

Kansas' big fat coach's big fat face is front and center on my television screen right now.

I'm very glad I don't have HDTV.

Well, looks like Kansas' dream season is quickly going down the drain, one mistake after another.

Yeah, more than likely this is the end of the line for Kansas. They're probably gonna get bumped all the way out of the BCS, because they had trouble convincing people they were worthy of being #2, let alone getting a spot in one of the big bowls.

That being said, Mizzou-Oklahoma: The Rematch should be a very interesting game. I'll be rooting for OU because I want to see some more chaos before this season is all said and done for.

And another thing...lol @ Georgia arguably being the hottest team in the nation and not even getting a shot at the SEC (or national) title game. That's what happens when you don't hit the ground running. But all in all, IMO, a great regular season, I'll definitely remember this one for years because of all the moments, what with the Alabama OT win, the Transformation of Mark Richt, the Blackout, all the good moments this year had.

You see, thats the thing that frustrates me the most. If this were Oklahoma in the same spot as Kansas right now they would probably still play for the title, just like they did a few seasons after losing to Kansas State in the Big XII title game. I still can't fathom for the life of me why certain schools get so much more of a pass than other schools, even ones in their same conference.

Which is the problem with the system. College football, ultimately, is still heavily swayed by VOTERS. I still remember when, even with the BCS, Nebraska got into the title game even after not even MAKING IT TO THEIR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP. People were more willing to give Nebraska another chance than if, say, Baylor were to lose that last game. Voters would figure that this was "finally the end of the road for the cinderella," but they would say that it was just a lapse of focus for Nebraska. Voters would be quicker to give a team such as Florida State a better look than a team such as South Florida. This would be the main reason I'd lobby for a playoff, because the human element should be played out on the field and not on a ballot. But, because the presidents aren't going to go near a playoff anytime soon, this will probably never happen and talk of playoffs is basically meaningless. :P But seriously, this is basically the end of the road for Kansas, and to be an 11-1 team in a BCS conference and not even get into the BCS, either the rest of the conference is really good (like this one is) or voters just don't like you.
