kc51design
Brilliant update, second one is much better, but I don't mind the first one too. Too bad Hawks couldn't come up with such a great update. lockerroom51
Gothamite
I agree - I love the bottom one, with the full cat. One of the better AFL updates I've seen. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.

Alphabet Man
Is the logo on the jumper a combination of logos, or a 149 years....Melbourne has gone to Reebok twitter.com/thebrainofMatt
Fred T. Jane
I follow the AFL very little, so I can't comment on how the logo fits in with their tradition, but I think they're both rather svelte on their own. [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. It deliberately continues to emphasise our traditional hoops and cat identity. This appears on all our marketing material and symbolises our attitude of ?we give everything that we?ve got? - Footy Full OnSecondary:We have also introduced a very special new logo that will be found on the player?s Guernsey and on field playing apparel. It represents our proud history since 1859. The hoops and cat images are continued to reinforce that sense of tradition. This shield is worn with pride and represents the honour of playing for the Geelong Cats. I saw, I came, I left.

Or perhaps the club doesn't really have a proud history? What a terrible idea.

Gazzzaf
Hmm, ISC is getting into the AFL. Looks like they're starting a monopoly on Aussie sport.
Primal
I think you're reading too much into that....Possibly But the point of a logo is to present a single, unifying image for the club... this seems totally contrary to that.
leggman01
i'm clearly in the minority here, but i really like the originality of the first of the new ones

How many alternate logos does your average American team have? So long as they are of a kind, I don't see how it works against creating a unified image. And English football has a long history of having one crest for the club as a whole and another crest for the shirts, so this doesn't seem like that big a deal. DEAD!
And the 2008 jumpers to match...hmm... wouldn't it look like the players have a cat's head jumping out of their stomachs? I saw, I came, I left.

Discrim
looks like great minds think alike...first thing I had in mind after I saw the new logos was a jumper very similar to what the club came up with for the new clash. The placement of those sponsor logos is horrendous.that's how it's done in the AFL, man. A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull
