Jose Canseco offers $5K for boxing opponent

FOX Sports.com

Just when you thought Jose Canseco's life couldn't get any more surreal, he goes and does something like this.

Canseco, the former Oakland A's slugger and reality TV veteran who recently revealed that the mortgage on his home had been foreclosed, is offering $5,000 to anyone who will step into the ring with him and headline a boxing card in Atlantic City this summer.

Canseco's promoter Damon Feldman sent out the following email:

"We are looking for a big opponent/athlete to step into the ring and fight 'The Bad Boy of Baseball' Jose Canseco in a boxing match, live on Saturday, July 12, at the Atlantic City Bernie Robbins Stadium. The person picked will be paid $5,000 and become a star overnight. There will be a full undercard and if you are not picked you may have a shot on the undercard."

Canseco has been through two costly divorces, which have contributed to his money problems.

When Bobby Orr was asked why he always wore a cup

but not a helmet,he replied:"I can always get

someone else to do my thinking for me!"

Oh what I wouldn't give to see Tyson hop in the ring with Canseco and bash his face in after biting off his nose.

I will submit my boy Quamell "Q-Dog" Willis and his lengthy rap sheet to literally murder Canseco in the ring. There will be blood.

Engine, Engine, Number Nine, on the New York transit line,

If my train goes off the track, pick it up! Pick it up! Pick it up!

Back on the scene, crispy and clean,

You can try, but then why, 'cause you can't intervene.

He is going to fight former Eagles return man Vai Sikahema. I think I speak for everyone when I say... who?

He was a good special teamer around the early 90s who when he scored TDs would use the goal post as a punching bag.

Ok, I see him all the time punching the Giants field goal post on NFL films. At least there is some sort of hook.

Maybe you speak for everyone under 25, but Vai actually had a pretty good career as a returner for Phoenix and Philadelphia.

Actually, I'm 27. It's jokes, you see. Lighten up, toots.

He was on Tecmo Super Bowl. Pretty good, if I remember correctly, but I usually just used the bootleg to QB Eagles (Randall Cunningham) whenever I played as Philadelphia.

Sorry - I'm just used to jokes being funny.

I'd like to see him fight in a handicapped match against Time and Apathy. He's already losing badly to both.
