The Eastern Professional Hockey League has formally welcomed its fourth member-franchise to the fold. The Brooklyn Aces will play their home games at the Aviator Sports and Recreation Center, a multi-purpose facility located on the grounds of Floyd Bennett Field.

The Brooklyn Aces' identity package is fitting given that Floyd Bennet Field opened in 1931 as New York City's first municipal airport. Floyd Bennet Field famously served as a Naval Air Station during World War II and was finally decommissioned in 1972. At that time the airfield was incorporated into Gateway National Historic Area. In 2003, four of Floyd Bennet Field's eight hangars were renovated and converted into the home of the Aviator Sports and Recreation Center.

The Brooklyn Aces join the Danbury Mad Hatters, Jersey Rockhoppers, Exeter Ice and a yet-to-be-officially-named franchise in Rome, New York as charter members of the EPHL.

The team in Exeter is going to be called the Exeter Freeze. If they adopt the logo of the Jr program that's already there, this will be the logo:

By "ripped off," you mean "also includes a character with a hockey stick."

Uh same body of said Character, Kev.

doesn't look EXACTLY the same, but it's definately ganked, in my books.
