Nashville.....

I, along with a few friends of mine, plan on coming to the Thrashers-Predators game in mid-January. Any advice on ticket deals (such as college discounts, promo codes, and the like), parking, etc. would be great.

I noticed they have $10 seats, but none are on sale through TicketMaster. Are these not sold until the day of the game?

your best bet is the Nashville area craigslist because they usually have some decent deal on a few tix

He said "Predators tickets" not "escorts."

*In Nashville, they're probably the same price, though.

Wow. I checked their site and found no real ticket deals. I know the Kings and the Ducks have a few. I just ordered a family four pack which includes 4 tickets, 4 coupons for a Pepsi and Hot Dog, a $12 parking pass for $82.

I paid $85 for 2 standing room tickets against the back wall of the upper deck for pre-season Leafs game last month, no food, no parking pass... there's your deal.

$30 to park within 3 blocks of GM Place. Take that deal.

So we made the trip to Nashville yesterday, and I rather enjoyed being a visiting fan. Hell, it was fun getting to sit and watch an entire game instead of fragments whilst working.....

Nashville has a nice looking building, though it seemed to look a little smaller, at least on the inside, than Philips. The location of the arena is right in the heart of downtown, as their bars and restaurants are literally across the street. I bet Broadway rocks come playoff time.

They had a solid crowd (soldout, I believe) numbers-wise, but the atmosphere was a bit lacking. Sure, the 4-0 hole after one period didn't help, but it was fairly quiet when the game was 0-0. The PA announcer, or the sound system in general, was rather soft. I couldn't hear who scored the goals or which penalties were being called. The intermission entertainment kinda sucked, too. That in-house band they had sure knew how to butcher the hits of the 80's. Those were the longest 15-minute intermissions I could ever remember. But overall, it was a fun, pleasurable experience. Kudos to Nashville.

Every sports fan should try to go to at least one road game (a true road game...not a game involving teams from the same city or fan-territory).

I do it every year with the Indians. Man is it fun when you're team's winning. I also am a road team fan in my home city's arena twice a year (when the Cavs visit the Pacers).

I've been to 2 Saints games...and both were the Rams on back to back weeks. The main game I want to go to is a Falcons-Saints game at the Superdome. I've always liked that place...and I guess it'd be nicer to go and actually see the Birds in action on the road. It's probably not going to happen anytime soon, but it's definitely a goal of mine.

Either that or a Panthers game. I know I wouldn't be alone because when the Falcons are winning, that is the ONE stadium that Falcons fans can actually take over. There was this one picture from I believe Vick's final season opener as the Falcons starting QB, the game was a blow-out, and there was nothing but red in the stands. That was awesome.

Had my experience in January of last year. AFC Wild-Card game at heinz Field. Steelers vs. Jaguars. Nice place once you get inside...and I think the upper-deck view is even better than being down on the field (where I almost got tickets to). Either way, being in that stadium as one of maybe 17 Jaguar fans was something else. You wanna talk about being heckled? It was all worth it though after the Jaguars won that game and I along with the 16 other Jaguar fans went walking around floating the teal team gear (me in my MDJ32 jersey), looking at all the sourpuss faces. I'll never forget that.

One of my childhood dreams was to visit every Major League Baseball park when I had the chance, but obviously that's an expensive thing to do. I did though want to see a game at Yankee Stadium because for one, they were tearing it down, and two, so much history not only in baseball was there, but in boxing and football as well. This summer, I convinced my Dad to split airfare and a hotel and we went on into the Big Apple.

I have been to New York once on a choir trip, but never with the ability to do as I wished, and my father had never been out of the South, so it was fun on both parts. In any case, we went to see the sights, but the best part was when we went to the Stadium proper. I love how he marveled at the passage ways being so narrow, and I loved seeing Josh Hamilton blast shots into the Upper Deck BEFORE the All- Star Game. Just in batting practice, he hit about seven into the top deck, and he drilled a young woman in the bleachers who wasn't paying attention.

Then the actual game started, and to see Joba Chamberlain flake against the Rangers offense, and to see Kevin Millwood smoke out batters was amazing. To hear the constant jearing of the "Minor League Texas team" was funny, especially since the Rangers took the lead in the third and never looked back. To see Rudy Giuliani watch the game and snag a hot dog was weird, and to be shown with my Rangers cap on back home in Arlington was a thrill caught on tape. The best part though was two fold: 1) I witnessed the last Ranger's victory at Yankee Stadium (and for a fan who rooted for them in the 90's, that was a big one), and 2) I became closer with my father.

I know it's a wall of text, but yes, going to a road game to cheer on your team, especially with your family, is one of the greatest experiences in the world.

ive been to Caps vs Panthers when i lived in Florida, and i went to Caps vs Avs when i lived in Colorado, its always fun, but i think the most fun i had was i went to the first ever Nationals game in Philly back in '05. got some heckling, but since we were new it wasnt so brutal.

We try to do it once a season with the Angels and Ducks.

Last year was Yankee Stadium and Joe Louis Arena.

I've been to the Shark Tank several times, up the road to Staples Center, Phoenix, and I think we're gonna go to Dallas this year.

I've been to Yankee Stadium several times, along with Dodger Stadium and PetCo Park. I think this year is time for Fenway.

Alright, so I'm likely heading to Nashville again, as the Thrashers play there at the end of the month. Tickets are already taken care of, but if any of you locals have thoughts on what my friends and I should do there to pass the time before the game, that'd be great....

We'll be driving up that morning, and heading back after the game.

And to top it off, you only got to see one actual hockey team take the ice.
