2009 NFL Draft

I think that's what's going to happen. Kinda like how Option QB's are almost never successful when it comes to the NFL. Eric Crouch is a perfect example of this. Won the Heisman back when Nebraska was still running that heavy option system, ended up retiring after a couple of years.

He retired because nobody wanted him to play QB, which he wanted to in defiance of NFL projections.

*thinks about wasted 3rd Round pick by the Rams*

*opens beer*

Simple solution to all this "spread" talk?

Some NFL team lures June Jones out of SMU and hires him as offensive coordinator... ^_^

(Seriously, though, I think we're about to start seeing a couple new wrinkles with NFL offenses. And the revival of the Widcat in Miami is just the start of things. I've also seen elements of the A-11 make its rounds with several teams--the Patriots being a prime example--so it's only a matter of time before footballs are flying all over the field with reckless abandon...especially when the NFL commish and the competition committee keep enacting stupid-ass rules like this latest "Brady Rule"... <_< )

Chase Daniel signs with Washington

I'm still trying to figure out how the hell this guy wasn't drafted. He was constantly in Heisman Trophy talks and has a pretty decent arm.Sure his 40 time was a bit slow, but he still gets the job done. Had he not just signed in quarterback purgatory, I'd say he's got a shot to become one helluva QB.

They think he's too small for the NFL. His backup at Missouri was getting more looks from NFL scouts than Daniel was.

I just looked at this years list of undrafted free agents who have signed, these two along with Daniel really stand out to me.

Browns signed Gram Harrell (Texas Tech)- Set the NCAA record for passing TDs and had multiple 5,000 yard seasons.

Vikings signed Ian Johnson (Boise State) - Dude was ice cold in college, loved the proposal after the OU game.

If Sonny Cumbie couldn't make it, neither would Graham Harrell. Gimmick offense, tailor-made for gaudy QB stats - no team's touching that with a draft pick. Andre Ware/David Klingler anyone?
