rmackman
I'm surprised I've never seen this discussed. Anyone have thoughts as to why the old Sonics uniforms had such a junky arching job of the team name? I get it in the 70s the technology probably wasn't there to vertically arch the name, but as time went on this should have been fixed. Thoughts?I always loved the uniform, but I felt like this could have been executed better. "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports

BrandMooreArt
dont think it had anything to do with technology. and nothing is actually "wrong" with it, that's the way they wanted it. why did they set it that way? maybe to have something thats just different. maybe it has something to do with readability. maybe they saw it done somewhere else and liked the look. I'm going to just assume the Sonics style was intentional. As for the black trim on the updated version, I actually like it. It gives the uniform a little more depth and the black doesn't stand out. The best bet on getting anything close these days is an Authentic or a Swingman.
