I really like the Bucs going back to orange and the set as a whole looks really nice. The pewter pants seem really forced and, while they do look good stand-alone with the colors, don't really match well because of the little pewter used in the uniforms and helmet. Otherwise I'm excited to see more of the series.

Here's the Bucs.

Elements

  • I changed the primary somewhat. Adding an 'x' across the flag and basing the new flag off one of the unused concepts.
  • I switched back to the original Florida orange (not to be confused with the 1976 orange glaze color) and de-emphasized the red.
  • I kept the pewter but got rid of the gray/silver.
  • I switched the helmet back to white.
  • The shoulders are a mix of the original striping pattern (but I added a third, thinner stripe) and the alternate logo.
  • I changed the helmet stripe to something a little more modern, but nothing too outrageous.
  • I changed the pants stripes to match the sleeve stripes.
  • I've added a black alternate jersey and orange pants.
  • I slightly modified my base block font to mimic what the Bucs currently use.
  • The throwback is from 1976.

Any of the pants may be worn with any of the jerseys, excluding the throwback combination.

As a Bucs fan who wasn't around to remember any of the Creamsicle days (born in 97), these are very nice but I think you're trying to combine two styles of jerseys that don't go well with each other. Almost like a forced "combination" of the different schemes. But that's okay, I have seen hundreds of other concepts that also try to replicate it.

Here's my critiques that I feel not only go with your concept, but all of them.

  • Recolor the logo you posted with Florida Orange being the primary color, and the red as the X (and if that doesn't look right, ttry and incorporate the red in a different way)
  • The red should be used as a teritary color, not a secondary color. The orange and the red are both attempting to dominate the uniform, instead of them working together to create unity
  • As much as I love pewter, you're adding a 4th color to the scheme that just doesn't fit. White pants/orange and red striping would be best. The pewter just does not look well with the florida orange (with or without red as a secondary color)
  • I would love an alternate, but I am not sure black is the color to go. Not sure which direction to go with what you have as the new makeover.

Overall, this is a solid concept and probably the best ive seen. However, it still isn't as good as the current scheme. In my eyes, returning to creamsicle would be a good idea (and I believe a lot of Bucs fans would be in favor of it). However, Bucs fans are either somewhat for it or completely against it. There are no Bucs fans that are so against the current look that they'd demand a change. While I'd say 60% of Bucs fans would like the change, the other 40% would hate it. I believe the 40% is actually the older fanbase, the fanbase that pays the most.
