illini1
Illinois went from almost having an agreement with Kevin Sumlin (then Texas A&M offered him their HC job) to Tim Beckman. That was a punch in the nuts.
STL FANATIC
I retain a little faith that Illinois can have a pretty good program under Beckman. But even if that happens, he'll still be a total goober. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT

rams80
"Illinois was a school without a mascot, without a powerful symbol, without a hook on which to hang their designs."http://bit.ly/1rfTpfvI'm not sold on the shield, and I don't think it's strong enough to solve the problems listed above. But longtime Illinois beat writer Mark Tupper loves it:"Nike has created what I believe will become the school's most powerful image since the circular Chief Illiniwek logo. That image is the Victory Shield."H/T Phil HeckenIllinois does have a mascot. Only instead of teaching him to beg for scraps of food and do tricks, they made him the football coach. And Illinois did have a theme and an image-the color orange. Cosmic
And Illinois did have a theme and an image-the color orange. So Nike doesn't want Illinois to have too much orange, and they didn't want the Syracuse Orange to have too much orange, yet...Nike wants to keep all the orange for themselves? Tracy MidGrady
Syracuse football has always been a navy, orange, white as far as I can remember.Syracuse basketball was orange, white, navy.
Cosmic
Syracuse football has always been a navy, orange, white as far as I can remember.Syracuse basketball was orange, white, navy. They're closer to the Seahawks now... navy, gray, white and lime orange peppered in. There should be more orange instead of gray mono.
STL FANATIC
The de-emphasis (on an consistent basis) of orange is stupid for both schools. But it's downright terrible for a school with teams named the "Orange" (which unlike the Browns, is absolutely for the color).
