Fred T. Jane
Geez, you folks all have one thing on your minds... Great looks all around. Though without further ado..1st- 4 (Great overall design, and the text itself fits right in with the mores of the period, as well as the "V for Victory" in the logo)2nd- 9 (eBay as a Pawn shop? I heartily approve!)3rd- 1 (Ted Williams reference is good, especially his military service, which was not just in World War II, but in Korea also.)Honourable Mention goes to 7, but the text there wouldn't pass muster then. Way too racy for the times. [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. BB61
1. #4 -- Captures the theme of the period, and the artwork is the most accurate of all of the Viagara ads presented here.2. #10 -- Seems like an authentic magazine article of the time, both in theme and in style.3. #6 -- The wit of it and the artwork would be perfect in a 30's issue of the New Yorker. It has that high-brow humor going for it.

J.R.
On one I didn't know what the product was, a couple submissions took a logo from today and used it, and another didn't have a logo at all.Anyways, here are my Top Three:1. Entry 4(Logo was the best of the submissions. Real classy approach. Lots of text, which was common for wartime ads.)2. Entry 9(The eBay script made it feel like classic times. A nice throwback. Great idea, well done.)3. Entry 1(Good idea using a celebrity endorsement. I liked the simple and traditional logo, and the sepia colour.)
