  1. The Seattle Mariners Reds looke good today. Castillo is a beast and you gotta love Eugenio Suarez. Just sad Winker is out.
  2. CUSA probably went with Kennesaw because Georgia State is smart not to leave the Sun Belt.
  3. The Reds have been eliminated from the 2023 postseason already. Old man Castellini has fired is aligning payroll by cutting first base/infield/base running coach Delino DeShields, advance scouting coach Cristian Perez bullpen coach LeeTunnell assistant coach Rolando Valles hitting coach Alan Zinter
  4. We are Football Club Cincinnati. From the FC Cincinnati website. "The much-speculated name Fussball Club Cincinnati – or Fußball Club Cincinnati using the German character – is the formal, legal name of the club and its business units. It is not to be used in any sporting references to the team, or in any public discussion." Anyways, the only way Cincinnati misses is if DC wins and Orlando and Columbus draw. Knowing the city of Cincinnatis cursed sports history, that shouldnt be hard to do.
  5. The format for the 2023 Leagues Cup has been announced. - Both seasons will pause and the tournament will begin July 21 and end on August 19 with games played in the United States and Canada. No games will be played in Mexico. -47 clubs in MLS and Liga MX will participate. -Two clubs will have a bye into the knockout rounds of the tournament. For Liga MX that team will be between the recent champions in Clausura 2022 and Apertura 2022, the club with the most combined points accumulated across both tournaments in the 2022 calendar year. For MLS it will be the 2022 MLS Cup Champion. The remaining 45 clubs will be divided into 15 groups of 3, with the groups divided into four regions. - For the Group Stage, the top 15 MLS Clubs (outside the MLS Cup Champion) based on the 2022 Supporters Shield standings will be placed in groups based on seeding, as well as by region. They will host two matches each. The top 15 Liga MX clubs based on combined 2022 Clausura and 2022 Apertura standings will be placed into groups in reverse order from the MLS clubs (Liga MX 15 paired with MLS 1, for example). There will be at least 1 Liga MX club per group. - The remaining 13 MLS clubs and the 2 remaining Liga MX clubs will be divided geographically and drawn into groups. The 13 MLS clubs will each host one group stage match each. Liga MX vs Liga MX matches will be played at select venues depending on region. - Every team will play two matches in the group stage. Top two teams from each group as determined by points advance to the knockout stage of 32. There will be no ties in the group stage. Each team receives a point if the game is tied after 90 minues. The winner of the subsequent penalty kicks will earn an additional point. Regulation wins count as 3 points. -In the knockout rounds the two teams with the bye along with the advancing teams from the group stage will be placed in a fixed bracket and compete in single elimination rounds. - The Leagues Cup Final and Third place game will determine qualifiers for the Concacaf Champions League. The winner will qualify directly for the Champions League round of 16, the second and third place clubs will qualify for Round One of the Champions League.
  6. Im surprised Greene and Lodolo are still with the team. They'll probably be gone next year. They are starting to get good and when that happens the Reds can "no longer afford them" so we trade them for some unknown guy stuck in the system to build up until its time to trade them too.
  7. The Reds will also have the lowest attendance ever in Great American Ball Parks history. Coming into the final three game series with the Cubs, only 1,358,304 fans have come through the gates this year, down nearly 1 million fans in the parks first year in 1993, and the lowest attended Reds season since 1984 when only 1,275,887 fans came to Riverfront Stadium to see a 92 loss team. Fans have definitely made their actions clear. "Where you gonna go?", clearly to Bengals, Bearcats, FCC, and even the MLB partner league Florence Y'alls. The Y'alls attendance was up this year compared to last. 107,877 fans showed up to a shorter season minor league team in a smaller park outside of Cincinnati. An average of 2, 158 per game, up last year from 1,555 (ballpark seats 4,500)
  8. I immediately thought Son of Gorton The waves are almost unnecessary. They are supposedly playing in multiple New England venues but the only two Ive heard of are Springfield MA (pretty inland for those waves) and Manchester NH , which is almost 40 miles to the ocean.
  9. Statement from the Coopers, the Louisville City and Racing Louisville Supporters. The Coopers will hang no banners, beat no drums and stay silent during the first half of Wednesdays City match against Detroit.
  10. Things havent been the same since they killed off Slice.
  11. New England Chowderheads logo has been unveiled. At this point it seems the team will be playing at multiple venues throughout New England.
  12. I could definitely see MLS expanding beyond 30 or 32. Sacramento-if they get new owners and investors. San Diego-Now that Snapdragon is open I think it can work at that venue. Phoenix Las Vegas- honestly I see Phoenix or Vegas. Tampa Louisville San Antonio-Honestly I think both and them and Austin can work despite close distance. Indianapolis Louisville- Louisville honestly needs a major league club at this point. Soccer may be the best shot. Detroit
  13. The Dolphins organization needs to be investigated after the shenanigans they pulled this week. They should not have put Tua back in vs Buffalo on Sunday. They fumbled putting their practice in Cincy in a secured facility resulting in the public openly filming their "private" practice. They started Tua tonight vs the Bengals and as a result he got seriously injured. He was released from the hospital in Cincinnati and is expected to fly back with the team, when he should not be flying. Its like they didnt learn with the Tom Brady fiasco
  14. Definitely should not have been playing, especially on a short week. He's in good hands at the UC Medical Center, honestly better hands than the Dolphins medical staff.
  15. We now have logos for the Elmira Renegades and Syracuse Sparklemuffins. They'll be going by the Spark for short.
  16. No this is very different. Its not uncommon for students to have half drunken pickup games or snowball fights on the field. Not only can you openly walk around the stadium, the many buildings and dorms surrounding look right down into the stadium. There is literally a student dinning hall named Stadium View Cafe overlooking the field. The place is one of the most public areas on campus and the Dolphins chose to have their "private" practice there. The Dolphins could have used many private facilities around Cincinnati. XU, NKU and Miami (OH) have more private athletic facilities. Several high schools would have been an option with some even having off campus facilities. Several indoor sports facilities like Wall2Wall and Town and Country could have been rented out. The Reds and FC Cincinnati were both on the road leaving Great American Ball Park, TQL Stadium and FCCs training facility (which is not open to the public) available. Hell the Dolphins could have used their hotel conference center or ballroom for makeshift practice. Instead the Dolphins chose to go to UC where they had a choice of using the completely exposed and open Nippert Stadium or they could have waited and used the Bearcats practice field on campus (Sheakley) after the Bearcats practice was over, which is still open to the public but less exposed than Nippert. During the winter Sheakley has a bubble over the field. The bubble is currently down. They chose Nippert.
  17. The Dolphins contacted Barstool to have the videos removed from Twitter. Barstool said no. I hear now the Dolphins are sending a tank to negotiate.
  18. Cincinnati has many secure athletic facilities that could have been used. Reds were on the road today, FCC was in Seattle last night leaving both TQL Stadium and the Mercy Health Training Center (closed to the public) available. Xavier, NKU and Miami have athletic fields and facilities. Many high schools have secured facilities. I know Moeller high school has an off campus athletics facility that could have been used. Many other local indoor facilities that could have been rented out like Wall2Wall and Town & Country. The Dolphins chose the unsecured Nippert. Thats entirely on them .
  19. Dolphins were practicing at University of Cincinnati today. Many Dolphins fans are not pleased that students and Bengals fans were able to film the practice calling it "Spygate 2.0". Keep in mind these are students and local fans filming, not anyone in the Bengals organization themselves. The issue here is Nippert Stadium is an open unsecured facility in the middle of campus. Students regularly walk the steps and play pickup games on the field, and walk to classes through the stadium. If the Dolphins didnt want this to happen they should have gone to a secured facility.
  20. I heard about that. They cant have it in Loudoun because the contract for the stadium says it has to be a division 2 club, while MLS Next Pro is division 3. While Id love to see Baltimore have a club I dont want DCUs reserve team there. Baltimore belongs in USL Championship. Huntsville was gunning for a USL League One club but Nashville outbid the USL bid and now fans in Huntsville are stuck with MLSNP. I dont want to see Baltimore get screwed the same way Huntsville did. Id much rather see DCU2 in DC or in the DC suburbs.
  21. Id honestly would rather see NYC play at a mostly empty MetLife for all games than see them play on a hap hazard pitch at Yankee or Citi.
  22. Agreed, bring in a natural grass surface. But yeah even venues outside current MLS markets. Maybe get Atlanta to Birmingham, Orlando to Tampa, DC to Baltimore. Heck even get New England at Fenway would be interesting.
  23. Salem Mayhem have been announced as the 8th club for the PBLA. Charlotte, Trenton, Hampton, and Binghamton logos were revealed yesterday. I would expect Salem, Elmira, New England and Syracuse to be revealed shortly.
  24. LA Galaxy will host LAFC to open next season at their former home, the Rose Bowl, in February 2023. The league will have an unbalanced schedule next season and LAFC and LA Galaxy will play each other three times. One at LAFC, one in Carson and a second Galaxy home game played in Pasadena. I like this idea. I could see many of the teams play three derby games each year with one at a larger site. I like the Galaxy and Earthquakes at Stanford. I could see others like Red Bulls and NYCFC at MetLife, Columbus and Cincinnati at Ohio Stadium, Houston/Austin at Dallas in the Cotton Bowl. This could bring an edge to the rivalries and bring in higher attendance.
  25. I love the orange and black for the Bengals. The striped helmet alone is very unique compared to the rest of the league. I dont mind the black and white look either. It makes sense here. The Cincinnati Zoo used to have white and black striped bengal tigers. Someone mentioned they are albino, they are not. While I like the white and black look I dont see it as everyday. Break em out for a couple games a year like the Steelers did with the bumblebee uniforms.
