  1. it was a young family in A's gear, probably on vacation. As a local it still kinda surprises me that people come to Cincinnati on vacation.
  2. I not sure how well Milwaukee travels. Last year I went to games in Cincy against the Rockies, Mets and Cardinals. All had good visiting fan turnouts. Even saw some random Athletics fans dressed head to toe in A's gear for some odd reason at the game against the Mets.
  3. Cincinnati drinks a lot of beer be it Reds, Bengals, FC Cincinnati, Xavier, UC, Cyclones. Cincinnati is a town of misery. Since its a weeknight still in the school year probably not a lot of Brewers fans on this homestand.
  4. The thing that the Northern Guard cant grasp is that now that the team is in the USL it has a national contract for games on ESPN/ESPN Plus. The supporter group does go out to serve and support the community, by going out to support a neighbor near the stadium clean up his yard to avoid fines from the local government, to volunteering at a local LGBT center just for example. With the team in the USL it now gets the club more exposure on television and to the country and soccer community, bringing in more television revenue, game revenue, new fans and potentially new supporters to the group. Instead the NGS continues to embarrass themselves, and could cost the team and supporters group more exposure and money that can be used to further help support the groups community and causes. Instead they are stuck in believing that censoring themselves will snowball into no longer being able to wave pride flags (even though the league supports LGBT community), and other causes important to them.
  5. Marge Schott may have been controversial but she made sure the concession prices stayed low.
  6. Last night was their first night for this. Only 10,445 at the game and they ran out of Bud Light and hot dogs by the fourth inning! Meanwhile, today Christian Yelich hit for his third carer cycle, all against the Reds.
  7. Round of 32 US Open Cup kicked off tonight. Louisville City advances to the round of 16 defeating their USL Championship rival Detroit City. A bit of controversy coming into this match as DCFC reminded fans that for all home matches, apparel with profanity, actual or implied, is prohibited. One of their supporter groups, the Northern Guard has been vocal about their political opinions and have been known to shout profanities during the games. Making apparel (specifically scarves that said F*** Ohio. On several occasions, USSF has told them to censor or remove their profanity from their banners. Northern Guard says they do not want to do this because they believe that if they have to censor themselves, the USSF and leagues will come for banning rainbow/trans flags, anti facists and other political belief banners next. This is the hill they are prepared to die on. They realize that if they continue this behavior it can result in fines and even being banned but they dont care.
  8. King of the Hill said it best. "This city should not exist. It is a monument to mans arrogance." Meanwhile the Dodgers will wear LGBTQ+ hats on field for the first time on Pride Night at Dodger Stadium on June 3. They will then wear the hats again alongside the Giants at Oracle Park June 11, when the Giants bring back their Pride hats. Id love to see other teams do this too. I know several host Pride nights but I believe only the Giants have worn them on field up to this point.
  9. While the weekend games still get a decent attendance, the weeknights struggle. Reds may be getting desperate to get some of the fans back they lost
  10. The script Akron was bad but this new lifeless identity is somehow worse. The Zips have had an idenity crisis over the past few years slowly bouncing away from the kangaroo but they are moving in the wrong direction.
  11. Reds have won their first series of the year.
  12. And up next for the Revs.... FC Cincinnati in the Open Cup in Foxborough. Last year I would have said FCC had no chance at this matchup. This year it may be the other way around
  13. Unfortunately no. Poop watch continues.
  14. I missed watching the FC Cincinnati game tonight but a shocker in 90 minute stoppage time for a 1-0 win at Minnesota and the first ever 3 MLS game winning streak for the franchise. The three time wooden spoon holders are suddenly in fifth place in the East and 3 points out of first
  15. Met the Reds mascot Gapper at the game tonight while wearing a shirt that reads Rebuilding Every Damn Season They pointed at each word on my shirt as if they were reading it, shook my hand and gave me a nod of approval. I think Gapper is very aware of whats going on.
  16. The truck defecator will have to wait another night. Tonights game postponed due to rain. Hopefully he'll do it tomorrow night when Im there.
  17. I would be angry regardless of the Bengals. I started losing interest in the Reds when FC Cincinnati came to town, even before the move to MLS. Im going to miss Saturday nights FCC game to go to the Reds game with a friend. The only reason Im going is because my friend is die hard Reds fan, and I dont have to pay for the tickets, parking or food, so im not giving old man Castelini a penny. Same thing will happen next month when I go to Pride night. Otherwise Im not spending a penny on them this year.
  18. Im starting to wish the lockout was still going on, at least for the Reds.
  19. If they dont restore the Impact name, they didnt listen to their supporters or partners
  20. FC Cincinnati gets the season sweep over Toronto FC in less than a week thanks to wins Saturday and tonight against the (soccer) Reds and now have more wins this season than the (baseball) Reds. FCC has also tied last season and 2020s win total of 4 and is two away from tying 2019s win total of 6. Its nice to see this team play well under a competent coach who isnt forcing the broken Dutch system
  21. Reds are now 3-19, their worst start in franchise history. At this point they may give the 1899 Cleveland Spiders a run for their money.
  22. Top three schools drafted 1. Georgia-15 2. LSU-10 3. Cincinnati-9 Im absolutely floored. Usually Cincinnati is lucky to even have one person drafted. This year we had 9 declare for the draft with all 9 taken. More than Alabama, more than Ohio State.
  23. Im absolutely floored that there have been 9 Cincinnati Bearcats selected in the draft. More than Ohio State and so far more than Alabama. I believe only Georgia has more players taken.
  24. Both Oklahoma and Texas said they intend to stay in the Big 12 until 2025 when the Big 12 media rights contract ends. They both have said that they intend to honor that contract, and the SEC has said that they support the schools decisions. That being said the two could leave early but would have to pay big penalties, but as of now the conference and the schools are acting like they are gonna stick to the deal.
  25. Pete Rose on the Reds: "How do you expect to win when you get rid of [Nick] Castellanos, you get rid of [Jesse] Winker, and you get rid of [Eugenio] Suarez?" Rose said of their moves during the winter. "Those are their 3-4-5 hitters in the lineup, they’re gone, and they have no one to replace them. "I mean, the Reds can’t score. They’ve got four guys in that lineup hitting under .150. How the [expletive] you going to win? Poor [manager David] Bell sits there and doesn’t know what to do because he’s got to play for one or two runs every night. And he’s got two rookies in the rotation." Meanwhile Roses teammate Johnny Bench is singing another tune. He said " it's a shame some have been so critical of [Reds CEO Bob Castellini] because his passion is second to none for that town and for that ballclub." Yeah Im going with Pete on this one.
