So they would have needed two pairs of navy pants (one to match the navy jersey, and one to match the white jersey)? No reason to wear the thin orange piping pants with the navy jersey.

They've never had orange pants with white jerseys for this 1997-now set. Probably only a handful of teams (Broncos, Packers, Steelers, Cowboys, and maybe the Colts) have worn the same pants with their regular white jerseys for the last 25 years. Even the ever-steady Raiders and Chiefs have changed up pants with white jerseys.

2k23 has the number font correct on this year’s Warriors Classic jerseys, but they’ve used something close to City Bold for the historic jerseys for years.

Syracuse and Clemson do look similar today, but for a Gen Xer like me, it reminds me of UVA vs Clemson in 80s/90s.

The media is focusing on an entertaining team that has made the playoffs the last couple of years, was the highest scoring team in the league and won the President's Trophy last year, and is off to a strong start this year? I'm having trouble trying to find a media conspiracy here.

edit: Clemson has worn purple jerseys far more often in recent years than I remember. It seems like whenever I've watched Clemson the last 8 years or so they wore orange but apparently I'm not watching them enough.

But it's not even the logo used on the Lightning RR. The Panthers used the Lightning's Edge/late 00's logo for some reason.

Clean?? The set with gradient sublimation and a six-color wordmark was clean?? lol no. Iconic, yes. Fun, yes. Clean, no.

The white numbers don't look great - wish they would have kept the bronze. The design itself looks better on a person than from the computer image. Top 5 in my book (in no particular order) Avs Ducks Penguins Flames Lightning There's only about 12 I think are really good. The rest just miss the mark, IMO.

Light blue is in the logo. The logo without the big I and S looks really weird. I think someone brought that up when the t-shirts were leaked but it looks worse on the jersey. I’m just amazed the Isles jersey is considered RR considering it really has no strong ties to anything worn previously. No shoulder patches, the waves are way different, the yoke is way different, the logo is different…this is just a new alternate.

The Penguins’ RR 1.0 was one of the few that was a middle-year with no championship (‘97). The Wings (‘97 or ‘98), Stars (‘99) and Lightning (‘04) had RRs that were based off championship years but jerseys were mid-cycle. I want updated Ducks shoulder patches too.

Avalanche sleeves are hinting at a '96 vertical-sleeve style (not an original Rockies striped look). Teaser shows current number font too.

Anaheim looks to be a 90s look, with black/white/gold stripes and orange cuffs/lower torso.

Not as good as the Caps' RR 1.0 (the red jersey with the blue eagle had great contrast). I kind of wonder what the logo would look like with blue wings on this black jersey with the blue sash....at any rate, this black jersey just reiterates what a great jersey the original blue jersey was. May have been better with a bronze and blue collar. The ad is obnoxious.

The Nashville on the mini-nameplate is weird (instead of sewn directly on the jersey). I was thinking this RR was going to be navy too. I think it's been brought up before, but the NHL logo looks so much better in black and orange than black and silver.

Probably something that doesn't mean anything...but the Boston Bruins are using the old wordmark from the 70s-90s on the team's magnet schedule this year. IMO it's one of the best wordmarks ever used in the NHL. There were rumors a couple years ago that the team was going back to the 80s style unis, but those rumors never amounted to anything yet.

Apparently half the league will be teased on Tuesday, half on Wednesday. All jerseys will be fully unveiled on Thursday - though I'm not sure this Thursday will be the day everything goes on sale. In 2020, they unveiled all the jerseys in early November, then waited a few weeks to make all products live on the store (which took advantage of built up demand). Would assume the same strategy this year, but who knows?

So Ohtani had his surname on his Japan jersey (as with other Japanese players), but Ichiro did not. I wonder what the difference was.
