  1. Patriots Texans Titans I think that's "all" the navy and red in the league, and it's a stretch with the Titans.
  2. I'm not sure about this. Edmonton had a sea of orange and the team never wore orange in the playoffs. The fans can still wear orange if they want while the team wears royal. Granted, it'd be weird if everyone just wore old orange jerseys...but in the playoffs, fans will generally wear whatever the team wants them to wear, and usually will give away free tshirts to make it happen.
  3. It seems like you and the Bengals are in competition.
  4. Would look better without the yoke (somewhat of a 2000s vibe). Cool helmet and pants though.
  5. That last thing we need is people calling professional logos "amateurish" without articulating the specifics. "Go read what someone else said about it" is not an explanation nor a defense of your own claim. Everyone sees through this deflection/lack of real answers.
  6. It sure is fun reading non-answers and deflections. Sounds like your definition of "amateurish" is "I don't like it".
  7. Do you really think it only took 5-10 minutes to design the Nets logo? What makes you say the current logo didn’t take time and effort and consideration? If you’re going to call something amateur, you shouldn’t avoid/deflect on the details. It should be fairly easy to defend your claim, but your refusal to talk about what would make it more professional looking is quite telling. Is it the kerning of the letters, the width of the strokes, sloppiness, or anything else? The only issues you brought up were: The Nets have basic trim (minimalism isn’t amateur, and the herringbone pattern in the trim isn’t basic). The Nets numbers and letters aren’t “crisp”. Nobody knows what that means. What do they need to look like in order to be “crisp”?
  8. What would a professional Brooklyn Nets logo look like to you? Feel free to give us your ideas and a concept. You really haven’t told us why anything in the current design looks amateurish.
  9. I like it, but if it were to be a real option, I could see CU not paying the upcharge for the custom wordwork and rather just going with a painted court. That's a lot of wood that has to be custom-fit.
  10. Would be cool to see a yellow helmet with red facemask as an alt helmet in that set; yes, because of 80s nostalgia and also, the current USFL's Stars made it work pretty well too. Great job on Iowa State and Mizzou overall. For CSU, I'm not sure about the number font on the regular sets...but the change to the gold horn decals is fantastic and that return to the yellow helmet for the throwback is pretty awesome. Would love to see it. Finally, and this isn't your fault, but the extra outline around Minnesota's M and Purdue's P just look terrible (in real life) because the outline muddies it up...they both would be better with no outline or a thin outline (like they used to wear 20 years ago now)
  11. Sort of reminds me of the Memphis Express helmet...which is a good thing, and it's maybe in the Jets/Rams Flash finish. Glad to hear it will be worn with white pants.
  12. I don't think anyone, either novice designer nor professional designer, would agree with you. The Nets logos aren't amateur...everything is pretty much on point, design-wise. The black and white might be boring, the font might not be the most exciting...but everything fits together. Plus, I think the designers of the Nets logos are members of this board and worked for Reebok/adidas at the time.
  13. I understand - but they ended up in Los Angeles in 2016. The only connotation to 20 I can think of is that's when they moved to SoFi. I was thinking if the Chargers were 60 because they are the Los Angeles Chargers again (LA-SD-LA), then the Rams could be 46 as they're back to that name/location.
  14. If the Chargers are 60, the Rams should be 46 (or even 36 or 16). Not sure why the Rams are 20, tbh.
  15. This is definitely good news. Wish they had worn for media day, but unfortunately all the pics are still navy/navy
  16. I gave you full credit for the name and number font change! Red and blue shades weren't really noticeable to anyone, and it's far less of a change from royal to dark navy. 1% darker red and 1% darker blue aren't really noticeable from the stands. There are numerous photos where the blue and red from the 70s/80s/90s look just as dark as they do today. The Avs changed burgandy shades in the 90s and nobody really calls it a significant update. And minor changes to the shape of the logo aren't really noticeable, either.
  17. These are the only real changes, though, with the collar being a manufacturer change and not a team update (though the current collar is heavily inspired by historical Habs jerseys)
  18. Please enlighten us as to the many, many differences:
  19. There's a certain contradiction in your argument... The ice cream argument is your team doesn't need to move on to a new design even though its glory days are 30-50+ years ago. The cake argument is other teams should move on to updated designs as their glory days are 30-40 years ago. I think it'd be way easier to say the Oilers should stick with navy if they were a team that had very minimal success throughout their history. Personally, I like the royal blue because it looks better on TV and in photographs. The Sabres realized royal looks way better than navy (even though Gilbert Perreault isn't suiting up anytime soon), and now Edmonton has realized that (again) too.
  20. Hokies will go back to solid maroon helmet, removing the tapered stripes:
  21. This logo found on the internet is a pretty decent update of the old logo...though the neck area is still a bit too copy/paste. And in modern colors:
  22. Those Toledo notches and the number notches are mirrored though. It’d make sense if the numbers had notches in the “northwest” corners, but they don’t.
  23. I kinda wish they had an updated B-ivy mark too. But yeah the two new same-but-different wordmarks with different W’s are very strange. The new wordmark feels very similar to the late 2000s Cleveland Browns wordmark…at first glance I thought they copied it and just removed the S.
  24. The vast majority of those uniforms have the primary logo on the sleeves, with helmet decals that play off the design of the helmet. As a fan that would buy a jersey, I’d rather have a primary logo on the jersey no matter what the helmet is doing, which is probably why we’ve seen the Falcons (across decades), Saints, Patriots, Cowboys alt/throwback, Dolphins, Seahawks throwback/2000s, Panthers, et al stick with the main logo. It’s not much different in baseball, where some teams have hat logos and sleeve patches that are the same, and work just as well as teams that have patches that aren’t hat logos.
  25. The Oilers' derrick (and similarly, the Roughnecks XFL logo) is nearly the exact same shape as Pat Patriot (Pat might even be more horizontal), and nearly everyone thought it was fantastic and want it too return, too. In this photo, Pat covers far more of the side of the helmet, which is actually a good thing.
