  1. No, because the stripes are consistently single-color black on white. The orange is only around the lettering/numbers/swoosh. May not be as visually pleasing to some, but it is technically consistent.
  2. Power Conference status is not determined by number of teams, but rather the status of all, or at least the majority of, the teams in the conference. Stanford/Cal plus San Diego State are not to make the Mountain West a power conference. And neither would simply calling that conference the Pac-#. Even adding schools like Memphis, Tulane and SMU wouldn't be enough. These are schools that could get INTO a power conference, but they're not enough to make a conference one. Case in point, they're all in the American and, yet, it's not a power conference.
  3. That just makes it the Mountain West under the Pac-# name. Wouldn't really change much and be no different than if those four schools actually joined the Mountain West.
  4. Here is my prediction for a possible power conference endgame, whether as FBS, it's own level under the NCAA above FBS or as a breakaway. All four conferences end up with an even-across-the-board 18 teams. A few changes: - West Virginia leaves the Big 12 for the ACC: It's been discussed recently, and seems plausible that they'd prefer to be reunited with some to their old Big East rivals and avoid having to travel to the west coast for conference games. - The Big Ten drags their feet and loses out on Stanford and California to the Big 12, who also add San Diego State to bring the total to 18 after losing West Virginia. - Florida State and Clemson manage to leave the ACC for the SEC, but Notre Dame, feeling the pressure to join a conference has become to heavy to resist any longer, honors their deal and joins the ACC rather than trying to get out. - The ACC decides to get into the Texas/western South territory by bringing in Memphis, Tulane (New Orleans) and SMU (Dallas). I couldn't decide between the last member; Rice brings Houston into the league, while Temple and UConn are in ACC territory, yet bring in markets they currently lack. Temple (Philadelphia) does, anyway. I included Liberty (Lynchburg, VA), but I think their recent success may not necessarily make them as attractive as some believe them to be. 5. They won't. Washington and Oregon have the opportunity to bring in Big Ten money. They're not gonna risk that by forcing the conference to take WSU and OSU as well. They'd decline it pretty quickly. Those two's only shot at staying in a power conference is the Big 12. But Mountain West/Pac-MWC weakened merger is their most likely outcome.
  6. I would imagine if Stanford and Cal don't end up in the Big Ten, they'll get into the Big 12. Stanford at least. Add in San Diego State, and the Big 12 could take the California coast, minus UCLA and USC.
  7. Utah will most likely end up in the Big 12 with the Arizona schools. I wouldn't even say the Big Ten is out of the realm of possibility for them, but not likely. Washington State and Oregon State will either get in the Big 12 as essentially pity invites or likely end up in the Mountain West.
  8. As expected... https://sports.yahoo.com/sources-big-ten-has-begun-preliminary-talks-to-potentially-add-oregon-washington-cal-and-stanford-173934989.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAKWtS5W0UfD7F7mwt4wY9fgAKngHIJUqnVq-Lq9p6lKNOUVye7WtsFKKg-jkx_Tvkv1KC4MoEmaRDB_McXkOKog-d1tgTbNp2kkYk0ARIqp5-cdDBSNDlMek8Dn6MUVIuRoIK0o80-ZYASMT8HDEeRH4ooW1JygD6rE1-NhqsRkA
  9. Yeah, I don't get why they had to put those on there. They've felt random and out of place on the last few sets, but even worse so on here because there's so much else going on. And looking at this full uniform shot, I believe even more now that the ball needs to be orange. Too much white and too little orange on the jersey, and vice versa on the shorts. Especially with the aforementioned spikes.
  10. Soon, the Mets' money owed to players not on the team will reach the luxury tax threshold by itself.
  11. Why can't they use Snapdragon Stadium? Dignity Health and BMO Stadium are both also MLS, as well. What's the difference? If anything, San Diego doesn't start in MLS until 2025.
  12. No, it's called "Pointless" because a lot of members didn't like others posting realignment ideas in threads, so once they finally created one for us, they called it "Pointless" because they found the general idea of realignment concepts pointless.
  13. He said he's not been asked to waive his no-trade. Seems it's mostly just speculation or some writers just coming up with their own ideas and it was taken as a serious possibility or simply the Dodgers asking and the Cardinals just having a general discussion while not really interested in going through with anything just seeing what a trade would look like while discussing separate deals involving Flaherty or Montgomery.
  14. I think it's already been decided that they won't split from the NCAA (trying to find an article referencing this). But I could see them creating a new division with the Power 5, err, 4 (I think the ACC will survive in some form better than the Pac will, possibly by even some merger/alliance with the Big XII). This would leave the Group of 5 Conferences in the FBS with some top FCS schools moving up. Maybe the new "Power Division" would be granted more autonomy by the NCAA, like more of a partnership than ruling body, and maybe even be considered more of a semi-pro level. Basically Division I (FBS & FCS) on down would remain fully amateur. There could be some financial requirements of the Power Level that schools would have to meet. You might actually see some current Power Conference schools stay in FBS if they don't won't to have to adhere to those requirements, schools who otherwise might just currently be considered "filler" schools to reach certain markets or conference membership numbers, but really have no business competing in these conferences.
  15. The ball being white causes it and "SUNS" to compete for visual attention, where the orange ball pushes it and the streak into the background, which is far more visually appealing. The white ball makes the two white elements appear side-by-side. Orange makes "SUNS" appear layered on top or in front of the streaking sun/ball.
  16. Not as common as "Mizzou", but yes, MU is fairly common, especially back in the Big 8/early Big XII days.
  17. I was talking bout the trend of old references; "needs stripes", "Angels should go by Anaheim", etc.
  18. We don't need to relive the past, people.
  19. The ACC has been looking into expansion as well. West Virginia was mentioned as a possibility in an article on espn. If UWV left the Big XII, who has said they intend to add a 14th member, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that they not only try to bring in the remaining Four Corner schools, but maybe one of Stanford or Cal. I would think Stanford would be the more desirable option, but if they would hold out for a Big Ten invite, I could definitely see the Big XII taking Cal. This would leave only Oregon State and Washington State (assuming Oregon and Washington also head to the Big Ten). Thus ending the Pac-#. Only way the name lives on is if they "merge" those remaining schools with the Mountain West, but use the Pac name for branding purposes. Still don't think they'd be considered a Power 5 school. Much like how the American lost it's Power status even though it was essentially the Big East rebranded.
  20. They could've at most issued warnings and nothing more would've happened. The Cubs never responded until basically laughing at the situation after Mikolas was tossed. Happ took it with no issue. Basically the most casual, non-aggressive retaliation. It was done and over with. The umpires were the ones who decided to make it into something bigger.
  21. If Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Washington and Oregon leave, the Pac-12 is done as a power conference, no matter who they add or if they merge with the MWC. Stanford would probably be out the door as well at that point. Probably rather go independent than stay put. Because the Pac really would just be the MWC, much like Conference USA basically became the American and all the bigger, more prominent schools left.
  22. Yes, Mikolas has been pitching very well lately. With him ejected, they had to bring in Dakota Hudson. Completely changes the dynamic.
  23. Based on what I've been reading, Arizona alone seems to be the next domino waiting to fall in the Pac 12-Big 12 saga. Whether or not they end up causing Arizona State (and thus, Utah, as well) to follow suit, remains to be seen. I still believe that to be the endgame, however. All 3 of them joining the Big 12. Memphis/SMU are definite possibilities if the Pac-12 schools drag their feet too long. Or they could be added by the ACC in a proactive move.
  24. It was literally the top of the first inning.
