  1. It's sad that we're all hoping for the Texans to look like the Bills since the Bills don't look like the Bills anymore.
  2. A Minnesota script that matches the Twins script would have been nice, and the Twin Cities alternate is rather dull. I also still wish they had the balls to switch to purple and gold, but I realize it's an unpopular opinion.
  3. The CFL just loves college football gimmicks from five years ago.
  4. I just watched the video and I don't get that impression at all. They even included multiple pictures of the shiny gold alternates that a lot of people hated at the time. Of course, there's no getting around the fact that red, white and blue were their team colors when they originally introduced the script.
  5. Hmm. The classic script is far from perfect, but I'm not sold on the modernization either. The K is very strange-looking and the crown dotting the i is too subtle.
  6. Honestly, my only big issues with this are where the sun/ball cuts off (it should be more fully visible like it was on the originals), the team name on the road, and the wordmarks not being outlined to match the numbers. It's so close to being a good modernization, but they've fumbled on the details. Since these are just a prototype, here's hoping they get one more round of refinement before they debut.
  7. I'm not a huge fan of the overall uniform (I think it would look better with red as the base color instead of black), but I'm surprised at how much I love that version of the wishbone C. Speaking of the Reds, I just saw highlights of their game against Miami last night and finally realized that the inconsistency between the script, NOB and number on the Marlins' throwbacks kind of bothers me. Particularly the random double outlines on the numbers. I think it would have looked better if the NOB and numbers were teal with a single black outline to match the script.
  8. Getting rid of the bandana pattern is a shame. The new uniforms look like a cheap catalog order by comparison, with the stripeless pants and all. Interesting that they're pulling a Georgia Tech with the two color-swapped white jerseys.
  9. I don't think it's a supplier issue, I think the problem really is the shade of brown. How brown it actually looks has always depended on lighting and/or weather conditions, whether it's Puma, Reebok or Nike.
  10. That's already more passion than the Coyotes have ever inspired for anything.
  11. I was just about to say how much better this looks than their current uniforms, but then I noticed the mismatched hem stripe.
  12. I actually don't mind the black pants. However, I wish they would have kept the teal/navy/silver color scheme instead.
  13. There's no fixing these uniforms. Swapping out black for silver actually makes them look worse, not better.
  14. It doesn't look as good as having the horse always face forward. Just because they got it wrong for 30 years doesn't mean they have to repeat their mistake in the future.
  15. I get why people are complaining about BFBS, and my first impulse is to complain too... but in all honesty, most of these uniforms look decent-to-good. The Wolves, Nets, Warriors and Cavs are the worst looks there in my opinion - but the Wolves' uniform is dark grey, not black, and black is one of the Nets' team colors, so that's not BFBS either. On a totally unrelated note, seeing all these uniforms side by side made me notice the wide variance in sizes for the front numbers. I don't get why the Hawks' front numbers are so tiny compared to the Celtics, Knicks, Suns, and Clippers when they all have the same general layout (arched wordmark and centered numbers).
  16. This shot from afar makes it even worse. When you can't pore over every detail, there's literally nothing about these uniforms that say "Cardinals." They look like a generic Madden create-a-team.
  17. This might actually be worse than the previous uniforms. Wow. There was no effort put into this at all.
  18. One underrated part of this is how the A's spent decades cheaping out on the roster because Oakland was such a small market... only to move to an objectively smaller market. They're downgrading from 10th to 40th in the Nielsen rankings. If the league seriously thinks this team is going to start spending money once the new ballpark is built, they're delusional.
  19. The Expos were even worse, since the league itself stepped in to sabotage the franchise after dangling the threat of contraction over its head. The A's relocation is more of a typical "Major League" kind of screwjob.
  20. This feels like the Chargers' relocation all over again, with horrible cheapskate owners deliberately running off fans and blaming everyone but themselves. I don't suppose the A's will start actually paying to keep talent on their roster once they get their precious Vegas ballpark. Sad day for baseball.
  21. I'd like that TX monogram in a vacuum, but not so much when the Tigers, A's, and White Sox already exist. The number font is ugly.
