Looking forward to next week's classic Cowboys-49ers matchup after this week's crappy Cowboys-49ers matchup.
This got me wondering if there's ever been a Niners-Cowboys game with the Niners in white and Cowboys in blue. Sure enough...
QuoteThe [Gridiron Uniform Database] says the Niners wore white in all seven home games in 1976 and against the Cowboys at home in 1979, making Sunday just the ninth time they’ve worn their normal white uniform with gold pants at home in team history.

Alright Bucs, you’re now 1-2 in these white jerseys in the playoffs since that fluke Super Bowl win. Let’s wear some red in January going forward. Thanks.
This Bucs team is old and bad and terribly coached. We might not need to worry about their home uniform choice in the playoffs anytime soon.

Dallas and Tampa are playing for the right to get their asses handed to them by the Niners.
If the Bucs win tomorrow night, I'm going to spend the next week holding my head on the idea that it was against the Bucs where The Legend of Brock Purdy was born, and that it would only be appropriate for the Bucs to be the ones to bring that story to a close.

It's bloody amazing how the Chargers can never actually shock you with stuff like this.

Since 2015, it looks like the only other time that happened was Week 3, 2019. Every other yellow box week was shared with others.

I was willing to let it slide on the basis of "superstition" last year, but they lost at home, in white, during the postseason. Wearing white, at home, AT NIGHT, in the playoffs after all of that is just garbage. As a fan, I'm definitely not a fan.

Tee Higgins has worked with in the past with the Greenville, SC Boys & Girls Club of America. If anybody has the wish and/or the ability to make a donation, especially in increments of $5, $8.50, or (lol) $85 (#5 was his jersey number at Clemson; you guys can figure out the other two) do feel free to do so. Damar Hamlin's charitable cause has gotten a very large amount of attention, not for the greatest of reasons but it's an incredible outpouring of support that we all hope he will soon have the opportunity to appreciate, and it would almost surely be of great appreciation for Tee Higgins as well, with the ill-deserved guilt he's probably feeling, for a cause that's means something to him to receive something good from this as well.
Here's a link to donate. Thanks!

I guess I might as well update this.
No weekly winner confirmed for Week 17 with Bills/Bengals in limbo. I've noted everybody's pick for tonight's game, but if anybody wishes to change their pick now given the circumstances, I'll allow it, just bring it to my attention.UPDATE: With Bills-Bengals officially cancelled, Week 17's results are final. @Jamesizzo and myself finish the best of Week 17 with 13-2 records.
Week 18 schedule:
Kansas City vs. Las Vegas
Tennessee vs. Jacksonville
Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh
Minnesota vs. Chicago
NY Jets vs. Miami
Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta
Carolina vs. New Orleans
Houston vs. Indianapolis
Arizona vs. San Francisco
Dallas vs. Washington
LA Rams vs. Seattle
NY Giants vs. Philadelphia
LA Chargers vs. Denver
Detroit vs. Green Bay
Baltimore vs. Cincinnati
New England vs. Buffalo
The last two separated because I'm assuming the current status of those games is pending an eventual rescheduling of tonight's game.

One of these days, Georgia's going to have to beat an Alabama or an Ohio State in a game where they don't end up losing their best receiver (or two) to injury during the course of the game, but today - still - wasn't that day.

Mark Sanchez is trying way too hard to be funny and interesting. These NFL Network guys aren't that good.
We don't need 45 different broadcast teams; let's just keep NFL rights with OTA TV because the premium networks mess it up.
Admittedly, Kugler and Sanchez actually are a regular team that does games every week. The first two crews from today are ones that only call a game or two per season.

We've just had back-to-back NFL games where the road team led 16-3, under five minutes left, and both games saw the home team score two touchdowns, the winning touchdown with less than 10 sec. left, in both games, to win 17-16.
What are the chances...?

This is the schedule the rest of the way:
- Sunday, Dec. 11 (Week 14) – Dolphins at Chargers
- Sunday, Dec. 18 (Week 15) – Patriots at Raiders
- Sunday, Dec. 25 (Week 16) – Buccaneers at Cardinals
- Sunday, Jan. 1 (Week 17) – Rams at Chargers
- Sunday, Jan. 8 (Week 18) – Matchup TBD
Good options for week 18 include: Cowboys at Commanders, Jets and Dolphins, Giants at Eagles, and Ravens at Bengals.
Of the remaining scheduled games, Rams/Chargers is probably another flex, too. Dolphins/Pats seems like the only game that week worth flexing. Maybe Cleveland/Washington too.
I was about to respond to you with a reminder that there can be late afternoon flexing as well - the only 4:25 game that week is MIN/GB, so meh unless the Packers win the next three weeks and are in the race - but that's an impressively bad next-to-last week schedule, yikes. Your guess as far as a SNF flex goes is pretty good - Jets/Seahawks would also be a decent candidate - since it tends to be "best game for the network without the doubleheader that week" , but Fox looks pretty screwed and is probably just stuck with their 4:25 game that week.

After the Divisional Round:
Mathematically, @rams80 has clinched a tie for the championship. Three game lead with three games to go, and I've never really had any interest in doing Super Bowl tiebreakers or anything like that. That being said, @RyanMcD29 and @oldschoolvikings (and myself) are still mathematically alive to at least clinch a tie for the championship if we get our picks right. Should I just assume right now you guys are going to pick the opposite of @rams80 as well? , there's nothing left to lose at this point.
Conference Championships:
San Francisco vs. Philadelphia
Cincinnati vs. Kansas City
