Yankee seasons are a simple thing. They play 162 games, and then a few more playoff games usually, and it ends with them losing to the Astros.

Not a big fan of white over blue, but I dig the all-blue for 1 home game a year.
Problem is that they've made a habit of wearing blue pants with the blue jerseys in marquee games. Think of the last three times they played a top-10 team wearing blue.
Now today. Even the B1G CG last year, they were wearing blue pants with the white jerseys.
If you want these change-of-paces, I understand, but they shouldn't be against Ohio State and in NY6 games and just generally top-10 vs. top-10 matchups. It should be for the non-conference home games or low-relevance conference home games.

I love it! And they have the original logo at midfield also.
I mean, wouldn't a proper throwback feature the old NFL shield logo at midfield? I know why it doesn't - the franchise doesn't want to associate with Jerry Richardson's preferences any more than they absolutely have to - but the field design as-is isn't one that Sam Mills ever played on coached on, right? Wasn't it 2018 after Tepper became owner that the Panthers finally put their logo at midfield?

1. Appreciate the well wishes from many of you.
2. I'm not going to upload a new image for this, but there were three 9-6 people going into Monday night. Two picked New York, one picked Dallas. So congrats to @CDCLTas the Week 3 winner with a 10-6 record. You'll see your yellow box on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

When did “britches” start becoming the trendy word for football pants? It sounds dumb. Just say pants.
I could swear there was someone in these threads like 8-9 years ago who used to insist on calling them britches. He talked about the Cowboys a lot IIRC.

Another shark siting.
I was entirely skeptical about the teal breezers when I saw the prototype, but in action it actually doesn't look too bad. I think I'd still prefer black with the teal sweaters but would definitely be ok with teal breezers being used on the away uniforms.

Hey @Kramerica Industries, has anyone here ever had a week when they went a perfect 16-0 on their picks? The best I recall seeing is 14-2.
Looking through my notes, it doesn't look like it. The best in a 16-game week is 15-1 (@Walter Sobchak, Week 15 in 2017) and I also saw a 14-1 in there somewhere, but the only time I've seen a perfect record for a week was Week 8 in 2017, when three people went 13-0 ( @logo-maker, @Alex Houston, and again @Walter Sobchak -- it's really no surprise Walter won the contest that year with the best win percentage of any contest winner in the previous seven seasons when he had a 13-0 week and 15-1 week in the same season).

Eternally grateful for the last two postseasons and this one as well. Got to see my favorite team win two championships and come within two wins of a third. Not many fans in any sport can say that. Wish it had ended a little better but that's the way it goes.

You have to be some sort of scammy lying git to steal from the Yankees.... financial issues or not.George Steinbrenner had been accusing team employees of stealing equipment going back at least as far as 1995. It took 27 years but I'm glad they finally got to the bottom of this.

I mean Stamkos had played in a Cup Final the year before his deal expired, and the decision to stay has worked out real well for him. Tough to fault a guy who wanted to stay in a Florida mansion where he gets the best tax rates in the league, and gets to play for a consistent contender.
He's also battled injuries constantly since signing that deal and he's also never had a reputation, before 2016 or since, of being a marquee playoff performer. The Lightning won a Stanley Cup in a postseason where Stamkos literally played all of two minutes and 47 seconds during it. Given that it was either Stamkos or Tavares, I'd say the Leafs came out much better on that.

@_RH_ - you're right about Colorado. Still don't think I'm always remembering that they don't wear black anymore, though I've gotten used to it and have grown to like it more than what they used to wear. But yes, the burgundy sweaters are the darker of the two.
As far as Carolina goes, looking at the picture @Glover posted, it just doesn't work for me. It's probably a decent amount over-saturation of that sweater/breezer combo and that it's not something Carolina's ever used. I see or have seen red-over-black from the 'Hawks, Devils, Flames, and Senators over the years, and to a slightly lesser extent you can even throw the Avs and Coyotes in there as well (distinctively darker shades of red in their cases, of course). Carolina might've done Red Wings imitation dress-up instead but at least it was only one other team in the league who wears matching red jerseys and breezers so at least it's not as widespread. It also looks like - I could be dead wrong - Carolina's red is darker than what that CHI/NJ/CAL/OTT foursome's reds are/were and so it looks like two dark colors with not much to balance it out otherwise. All things taken into account, I'm not impressed with it.
@M4One's picture is exactly what I was thinking. I actually really like the way that looks. Carolina gets to wear their desired playoff black jerseys while still having some color in their uniforms otherwise. Now that I see that color balance in picture, I hope Carolina does exactly that. And if they don't wish to do that...I know red breezers (or helmets) have never really been something Ottawa's done, but that wouldn't be a bad idea for them either.

I've always wondered why, when it comes to colored sweaters, why the pants are always either the same color as the jersey, or darker than the jersey, but (with very rare exceptions) seldom lighter than the jersey. The Rangers wear blue over red, the Blue Jackets wear blue over red because Doug MacLean wanted to imitate that from the Rangers way back in the day, but every other contrasting colored sweater/breezer combo is lighter sweater/darker breezers.
The Hurrcanes wearing red over black looks like trash to me, but if they're going to do any more mixing and matching, I'd actually be really interested in seeing what the black sweater over red breezers would look like. It's a lighter red than the Coyotes when they did that so I think it could have more promise.

It only just occurred to me watching this game that New England is wearing gray pants. I guess when you're used to seeing them wear this half the time for 20 years it doesn't look all that unusual.
That said...these dumb mother****ers.. How long have they had gray pants as an option? Wear these for every home game and ditch the mono-blue. This has to be the first Patriots home game since Brady's last game that the Patriots actually look like the Patriots.
