  1. BC looks good, but I have a couple suggestions. I'd personally darken the orange and tweak the wordmark. With a white helmet, white pants and minimal black, a darker orange would help give the uniform a bit more balance contrast wise, and the Lions have traditionally used a darker shade. The "Lions" part of the font looks more like something you'd see in the background of a breakdance video than for a sports team. If you're going to have the sleeve stripes continue onto the chest, I would lose the black ends, as it feels a little disjointed when the two stripes above it continue while that one doesnt. Also the offkilter numbers seem odd on a football jersey. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely not something I'm used to. Otherwise great job. Edmonton is fantastic. No critiques. Solid upgrade all around. Calgary is good as well, but with the intricacy and length of the wordmark, I would maybe put just a bigger version of the 'STAMPS' one, sans horseshoe on the chest so it's more legible/recognizable from a distance. That, or increase the size of the normal "STAMPEDERS" mark to be more akin to the word marks seen on college jerseys. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
  2. I quite like what you've done with the shading on the Raven's head. It would help eliminate that empty feeling of negative space you find in every concept where people try to get rid of the 'B'. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the colours though.
  3. Agreed. I've never seen a pinstriped uniform I've liked.
  4. I'll agree with you here. Before anyone freaks out over hurting a sacred cow, "overrated" does not mean "bad". I think their uniforms are fine, but somewhat unremarkable, with the roads being too yellow heavy for a team with green as its main colour. The logo however is not good. If you're going to go down the "letter in an oval" road, at least put both in there. Imagine if a team from New York just had an "N" or a team from LA just had an "L". And if you're one of those people who believes the "'G' stands for 'greatness'" story, thats even worse.
  5. The Canucks flying skate jerseys that returned this year aren't that great and are only receiving the love they get because 1) People in BC still fawn over the cinderella run of the 94 team that got to the final (despite losing), and 2) We're living in a time of 90s fetishization. If it weren't for those two factors nobody would care about them beyond "remember when the Canucks wore team Germany uniforms"?
  6. This is unpopular? I've never heard this, and most manufacturers logos are in a similar spot.
  7. The white ones were nice, I didn't care for the phantom yoke effect on the greens though.
  8. This has been the issue with every team that partners with the Wolves. They're pretty much the only independent affiliate willing to strongarm the NHL team.
  9. Glad they stuck with the current name, it’s great for a minor league team.
  10. I really doubt the Canucks would pull the plug in Utica. The team is stable, the fan support there is awesome, and the kids over there can focus on playing and developing outside the fishbowl of BC
  11. None of these uniforms do anything for me. That Roughnecks logo is awesome though.
  12. The problem with the Black pants is the same for every team that pairs them with black socks. They end up looking like yoga pants when paired next to the purple jersey. I actually really like the all black Baltimore look, I think its great for a team named the Ravens, but as long as the Purple remains the main jersey they need to ixnay the Black pants/Black socks wombo combo.
  13. I really like San Diego, particularly the bright colour scheme the Chargers abandoned for navy. Washington is good but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing some some blue somewhere if its going to be the basis for an alt jersey.
  14. Two MLB ones for you. The Orioles should go back to the full body ornithological bird. The cartoon bird sucks. The Angels current look is their worst. It's extremely bland and the red-on-red lettering is really bad. The typeface looks more appropriate for a law firm and the 'A' insignia doesn't evoke the sense of a halo despite it being quite clearly in the logo. I'm aware these are meaningless buzzwords but I'm going to throw them out anyway. Its "bland" and "soulless". They look like an EA Create-A-Team.
  15. I like the concept, I think the sword motif is a really cool idea, I just think they executed it terribly.
  16. Bills are one of those teams where white is as integral to their colours as red or blue. The white helmet looks good, the white pants look good. It makes the bright red and blue all that more striking, without letting them overpower the uniform.
  17. I actually like how they cut the bottom of the banner to be a chevron. Nice subtle nod.
  18. I think Abbotsford already proved it isn't too keen on supporting a Flames affiliate.
  19. I don't know if this really counts, but it seems like they don't really sell San Francisco Giants jerseys with a number but no NOB unless you buy the full authentic on- field version. The replicas they sell come with NOB despite the fact that the team doesn't have them.
  20. Yeah the realistic cup doesn't look that great. I like when the team's Stanley cup banner is just as simple as the division champ/retired number banners, but with the colours inverted.
  21. NHL: Canucks MLB: Giants NFL: Ravens NBA: Bring the Grizzlies back to Van
  22. I don't know I've seen a lot of people rave about the white gloves on Vegas' road jersey, plus the inclusion at the all star games, the new Buffalo 50 jersey, it looks like its going to be the new 'piping to nowhere'
  23. I'm not a fan of the burgeoning trend of white gloves for hockey teams.
