  1. A few more fauxback designs this afternoon: RED SOX 1974 The pullover style 1974 Red Sox in Boston Marathon yellow and blue. I couldn't think of anything both clever and era-appropriate for the front of the jerseys so if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. WHITE SOX 1976 A design that sort of bridges the early '70s White Sox with the South Side Hitmen look of the 1977 team. "South Side" in Tuscan style with red pins on a solid navy uniform and the batterman on the cap. DIAMONDBACKS 2001 A pinstripe-less take on the classic vest style D-Backs in purple and turquoise with "Serpientes" in the original Diamondbacks typeface. C&C appreciated! If anyone has any other fauxback ideas or requests, let me know.
  2. I think you outdid yourself again with the NL West! I really like what you did with all five teams. I do have a few suggestions: Rockies - The Bears mashup is really fun but the "c" in the cap logo is not really reading as one. I'm also curious how it would look if you replaced black with silver. Padres - I prefer the prototype design but I'd swap out gold for orange. Giants - The angled "S" and "F" look awkward so I'd straighten them out.
  3. Royals City Connect cap has apparently leaked:
  4. Some outside the box designs in these last two divisions, particularly the Phillies, Cubs and Cardinals. Nice work!
  5. Great work, man! Always nice to see some baseball concepts from you. Dare I say it, I may actually prefer this to the Astros' actual set. The use of gradients and the "space-y" font give the uniforms some much needed personality. I do think I would like the navy alt more if the script and numbers were full gradient with a white outline. Also, what's the name of the script/number font you used?
  6. Ah, but then that sounds just like something they'd wear every day of the season. I'm starting to think the Giants just needed to go in a completely different direction for their City Connects.
  7. The Giants City Connect uniforms feel like they’re missing something. I can’t quite put my finger on it though.
  8. Here's an idea I had for a full Nationals set in their City Connect cherry blossom colors: NATIONALS HOME: NATIONALS ROAD: NATIONALS HOME ALT: Decided to go with the Nats' 2005-10 wordmarks so I could make use of the beveling of the City Connects' "WSH." Slate gray becomes the base color of the road uniform. On an unrelated note, anyone else craving Neapolitan ice cream all of a sudden?
  9. The surfboard detail is promising! Speaking of future City Connects, I find it strange there are no teams scheduled to debut theirs in all of May.
  10. Thanks! I have a few ideas in mind for the D-Backs. I'm struggling with San Francisco because I want to take the basic idea of their City Connects (orange with no black, Golden Gate Bridge trim) and apply it to an older uniform but I'm having a hard time making it work. I think it's made me realize that the Giants really have the worst ones so far, unfortunately. Anyway, up today I have an Astros fauxback: ASTROS 1975 I like the Astros' newly unveiled City Connect unis so much that I probably won't even be tweaking them. The new design lends itself quite nicely to a 1975-mid '80s fauxback design. Instead of actual gradients, I used block gradients (specifically, Houston's tequila sunrise/rainbow guts pattern) and applied them to the script, numbers, cap logo and piping on an era-appropriate pullover style uniform. I also recreated "Space Land" using Kabel Black, a font very similar to the Astros' '70s-80s wordmark. C&C appreciated as usual!
  11. I don't think I've ever seen someone try the '83 era White Sox in just powder blue and navy. Very original! I also really like that Guardians fauxback. The updated gradient for the Rays is also a big improvement.
  12. Thanks, guys! Up today I have some fauxback designs: CUBS 1933 A mono navy version of the Cubs' 1933 home uniform with wishbone "C" logo. NATIONALS 1935 A design heavily inspired by the 1930s' Homestead Grays home uniforms with T-bars. DODGERS 1939 An inverted version of the Dodgers' 1916 checkerboard uniforms, with a "Brooklyn" replacing "Los Angeles" and a script "B" on the cap and sleeve. C&C appreciated! Still thinking of fauxback ideas for the D-Backs, Red Sox and Giants.
  13. Great work on the AL East! I really like what you did with the Orioles in particular. One complaint I have with the Rays design is that the gradient starting from light blue to yellow makes it very hard to read against the sky blue jersey. I'd just use the same style gradient as the original Devil Rays uniforms. Or, is it possible to create a new gradient that starts with the Rays' navy blue and then ends with yellow?
  14. I must be the only who actually likes the new light blue alt design. At the very least, I think it's a good thing that they don't just have the exact same design for every jersey in their wardrobe just in different colors, maybe because I find their "Rays" script so boring.
  15. The Astros appear to be teasing their City Connect unis, which are being unveiled on April 10th: Unsurprisingly, seems we'll be getting something with a big space program theme.
  16. Shameless plug, but I addressed my issues with the Nats' City Connect set and made a few tweaks here:
  17. City Connect is back, and so am I! WASHINGTON NATIONALS: Washington unveiled their City Connect set this morning and I have some thoughts: What I like: 1. The color scheme 2. The cherry blossom theme 3. The cap logo/design 4. The D.C. flag What I don't like: 1. "WSH" on the front of the jersey 2. The off-white pants 3. Lack of piping/trim To address my issues with the set, I made a few changes. First, I went with matching slate gray pants to go along with the jersey, which in turn meant pink undersleeves and socks. Next, I used a font called "Grand Gibson" to create a "District" wordmark in the style of the Homestead Grays. (To my knowledge we haven't seen the back of the jerseys yet, so I just used the same font for the numbers.) Lastly, as much as I like the use of the D.C. flag, I don't like that it looks like it's just kind of floating there on the left sleeve, so I decided to incorporate the flag into the actual sleeve design, with two thick pink stripes and three stars facing outward. C&C appreciated!
  18. That was my thought as well. Also, no teams unveiling in August is strange, since that's when the Dodgers released theirs last year.
  19. “Following their in-game debut on April 9, future City Connect on-field debuts will be made by the Houston Astros on April 20, the Kansas City Royals on April 30, the Colorado Rockies on June 4, the Los Angeles Angels on June 11, Milwaukee Brewers on June 24, and San Diego Padres on July 8.“
  20. Speaking of the Braves, anyone know what this is?
