  1. Thanks! Agreed on both counts. Today's team is the Cleveland Indians! INDIANS HOME: INDIANS ROAD: INDIANS HOME ALT: INDIANS ROAD ALT: For the Indians, I chose a shade of dark yellow as seen on this old Chief Wahoo logo. Red dominant look at home and navy dominant on the road. C&C appreciated. The Braves should be up next!
  2. Thanks! The Wizards similarity was unintentional, but I don't consider it a bad thing. Today we have the Minnesota Twins! TWINS HOME: TWINS ROAD: TWINS HOME ALT: TWINS ROAD ALT: Let's face it: The Twins' current identity is a mess. They have two navy alternates, a recent Kasota gold trim color addition that seems wildly unpopular and a powder blue fauxback that doesn't fit with any of their other uniforms. Since I gave Kasota gold to the Nationals, I chose powder blue as the Twins' trim color. It also serves as the base for the road uniform, which I added pinstripes to as a nod to their 1987-2009 road look. C&C, please. The Indians are next!
  3. I decided to revisit the original premise of this thread and ask, "Instead of changing navy and red teams' colors altogether, what about adding a third color to set them all apart?" So let's start today with the Nationals: NATIONALS HOME: NATIONALS ROAD: NATIONALS HOME ALT: NATIONALS ROAD ALT: For the Nats, I decided to add Kasota gold, as used by the current day Minnesota Twins (yes, this means the Twins will be getting a different trim color for their redesign). The Nats had gold as part of their inaugural look but it was too dark and metallic-looking; this shade works much better, in my opinion. Either the Indians or Twins will be up next!
  4. That's a cool idea! Thanks! Thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure re-coloring MiLB teams is a rabbit hole I'm willing to go down, but it's an interesting suggestion nonetheless. As requested by @BayBaseballFan, here are the '90s Brewers in Packers colors! BREWERS HOME: BREWERS ROAD: BREWERS HOME ALT: BREWERS ROAD ALT:
  5. Thanks! Here are the New York Giants (MLB) x the New York Giants (NFL)! GIANTS HOME: GIANTS ROAD: GIANTS HOME ALT: GIANTS ROAD ALT: Truth be told, the Giants used colors very similar to this before they switched back to black and orange in 1947. This design is essentially the one they were using right before they moved to San Francisco in 1958 but in blue and red. Thanks for all the feedback! Really appreciated. I can definitely try the '90s Brewers in Packers colors soon.
  6. That's interesting. Not sure how I'd apply that for this series, however. Any suggestions? Thanks for the feedback, and I agree completely. I much prefer my first Cardinals x Blues design in red, blue and yellow. The Spirits of St. Louis suggestion is an interesting one; I might try that out at some point. Let's move on today with the Astros x Oilers (again)! ASTROS HOME: ASTROS ROAD: ASTROS HOME ALT: ASTROS ROAD ALT: As suggested by @Htown1141, here are the Houston Oilers color applied to a different era of Astros uniforms, specifically their 1994-99 design. I've never really cared for this look for the Astros, but I do feel the Oilers colors help give it a bit more life. And with that, I'm officially caught up on all the teams I had planned to design! However, I'm not ready to close the door on this thread just yet in case I get any new ideas or suggestions for other color schemes to try out. Thanks for following!
  7. Agreed! Next up we have the MLB Cardinals x NFL Cardinals! CARDINALS HOME: CARDINALS ROAD: CARDINALS HOME ALT: CARDINALS ROAD ALT: In doing research for this series, I was astounded to learn that at one point there was both an MLB and NFL team called the St. Louis Cardinals that played at Busch Memorial Stadium from 1966-87. (Side note: How was that not confusing as HELL?) With both Cards teams playing the majority of their time in the '70s-80s, I went with an era-appropriate double knit & sansabelt design with the NFL Cardinals' scarlet and black color scheme. C&C appreciated! A different take on the Astros in Oilers colors is up next.
  8. Thanks! Let's see if I put your trepidation to rest today! PIRATES HOME: PIRATES ROAD: PIRATES HOME ALT: PIRATES ROAD ALT: The three major sports teams in Pittsburgh all famously share the same color scheme, but for a period in the 1960s-70s, the Pittsburgh Penguins included Columbia blue in their identity. I wanted to apply that scheme to the Pirates to see how it would work. Rather than being used as an alternate color, the blue is both a trim color and the color of the road set. This was a bit of a juggling act trying to balance three colors (not counting white) but I think I somewhat pulled it off. Thanks to @Carolingian Steamroller for suggesting using this great former alternate logo as a sleeve patch. C&C appreciated! The Cardinals x NFL St. Louis Cardinals are coming soon.
  9. Thanks! Up today we have the Yankees! YANKEES HOME: YANKEES ROAD: YANKEES HOME ALT: YANKEES ROAD ALT: The Bronx Bombers use the blue and red color scheme of the New York Giants, who played at old Yankee Stadium from 1956-73. The home alt uses the fantastic Yankees script from this old dugout jacket, while the road alt is an inverted version of the home set. C&C appreciated as always. The Pirates x Penguins are on deck!
  10. Really funny that you should suggest that as I've been working on some designs based on Hat Club's MLB/NBA Crossover series. Here you go! PHILLIES: Up tonight, as suggested by @jwinters, are the Mariners in modern Seahawks colors! MARINERS HOME: MARINERS ROAD: MARINERS HOME ALT: MARINERS ROAD ALT: Since I've done the Mariners x Seahawks before, this one doesn't require a ton of explanation. @Carolingian Steamroller did on excellent job on the current Mariners uniforms in modern Seahawks colors a few years back, so I decided to apply the 'Hawks navy and volt green to the Mariners' '70s look, though with more modern piping than my first version. Let me know what you think. The Yankees are up next!
  11. After a small break I'm back today with the Braves! BRAVES HOME: BRAVES ROAD: BRAVES HOME ALT: BRAVES ROAD ALT: The relocated Braves and expansion Atlanta Falcons played at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium starting in 1966 through 1991. I've done the Braves in black and red before, so I changed a few things this time around, namely simplified piping and a new cap design for the home set. The colors have another local connection to the Hawks and University of Georgia Bulldogs. It's a fun to imagine an alternate history where the Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta and tweaked their colors. C&C appreciated! A new take on the Mariners is up next.
  12. Thank you! This afternoon we have the Minnesota Twins! TWINS HOME: TWINS ROAD: TWINS HOME ALT: TWINS ROAD ALT: The Twins shared the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome (AKA the "House of Horrors" if you're a White Sox fan) with the Vikings from 1982-2009 before moving into Target Field in 2010. I went with an era appropriate pullover/sansabelt design and tried something different by going with gold scripts and numbers on both the home and road sets. C&C appreciated. The Braves x Falcons will be up soon!
  13. Haha, thanks! I agree it's weird to see the A's in red instead of green but it's a great color scheme nonetheless. Thanks! Pistachio is criminally underrated. Today we have the Colorado Rockies x Denver Broncos! ROCKIES HOME: ROCKIES ROAD: ROCKIES HOME ALT: ROCKIES ROAD ALT: Everyone knows that the Rockies play at Coors Field, but some may forget that for the first two years of their existence they shared Mile High Stadium with the Denver Broncos. Unlike my previous two Rockies designs, this one uses simplified scripts (no inserts) and single outlined numbers. I also added pinstripes on the road to separate this design from the Mets' road uniform. C&C appreciated! The Twins x Vikings are next.
  14. Thanks! Here's the road alt with the black cap you suggested: DODGERS ROAD ALT: Today's team is the Kansas City Athletics! ATHLETICS HOME: ATHLETICS HOME ALT: ATHLETICS ROAD: ATHLETICS ROAD ALT: This one is purely a throwback what-if. The Chiefs and Athletics both played at Municipal Stadium from 1963-67 before the A's headed west to Oakland in '68. In keeping with historical accuracy, each set is the same design just in different colors. C&C appreciated as always. A new Rockies set is up next!
  15. Ask and ye shall receive! DODGERS HOME: DODGERS ROAD: DODGERS HOME ALT: DODGERS ROAD ALT: With the recent revelation that the Los Angeles Dodgers may have considered switching from blue to purple in the '90s, and, inspired by @jwinters' suggestion, here are the Dodgers in late '90s-early 2000s L.A. Kings colors. I decided to lean hard into the late '90s aesthetic, which means lots of busy piping, black and silver and, of course, vest uniforms. The basic design of the home and road uniforms is based on this one season alternate from 1999. C&C appreciated! The Athletics x Chiefs are next up.
  16. Thanks! Here's the home set with a wishbone "C." I actually used the Bears logo: WHITE SOX HOME: Thanks for the feedback! My next design is actually inspired by your post in this other thread, @O.C.D: Also, @Ark: PADRES HOME: PADRES ROAD: PADRES HOME ALT: PADRES HOME/ROAD ALT: Here's the Padres 2020 redesign swapping out athletic gold for pale pink and making the home uniform off-white for the full Neapolitan ice cream effect. I also added a new home alt to really embrace the pink. On a side note, spumoni >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Neapolitan. C&C appreciated as always! Another take on the Dodgers is up next.
  17. Thanks, man! Today we have the Chicago White Sox! WHITE SOX HOME: WHITE SOX ROAD: WHITE SOX HOME ALT: The Chicago Cardinals played at Comiskey Park throughout the 1920s and again from 1940-58 before relocating to St. Louis in 1960. This set is based on the White Sox early 1940s zippered design. The maroon and tan color scheme may not scream "Chicago" as loudly as black & red or sky blue and red, but there is a local connection to the University of Chicago. C&C appreciated! A small surprise is next.
  18. Wow, I appreciate all the valuable feedback and praise, I really do. I'll go through team by team to respond to your criticisms & suggestions: Here's the Twins road set with the script & number colors flipped: TWINS ROAD: Not sure I totally I understand your first suggestion about demoting the lighter orange/yellow to the alternates. But here are the home, road and road alt with the diamond sleeve pattern on the socks: DIAMONDBACKS HOME: DIAMONDBACKS ROAD: DIAMONDBACKS ROAD ALT: Hopefully this is what you're looking for: BRAVES HOME: BRAVES ROAD: Here's the Eagles set without the black. The Kelly green and silver alone is still a great look: PHILLIES HOME: PHILLIES ROAD: PHILLIES HOME/ROAD ALT: Here's the Rays with a bit lighter shade of red and a solid pewter road set. I couldn't make the red too bright, as there still need to be some contrast with the orange. RAYS HOME: RAYS ROAD: I added a bit more copper to the home (cap and jersey logo and back numbers) and road (piping and script & number trim) sets. The black road alt without blue doesn't look half bad: NATIONALS HOME: NATIONALS ROAD: NATIONALS ROAD ALT: Totally get what you're saying about the teal not pairing well with the white. I do think the problem is mainly with the home set, so here it is with navy as the dominant color: MARINERS HOME: Here are the Rockies x Avalanche with a bit darker shade of maroon: ROCKIES HOME: ROCKIES ROAD: ROCKIES HOME ALT: ROCKIES ROAD ALT: I actually considered giving the Astros a white front paneled cap. Not sure why I didn't follow through with the idea. I didn't give them a red alternate originally because red was only used as a trim color for the Oilers, but here it is anyway: ASTROS HOME ALT: Here's the home set with a gold crowned cap: GIANTS HOME: I assume you mean blue numbers with a single white outline? Here that is: PADRES HOME ALT: Thank you! Keep the C&C coming! The White Sox will be up soon!
  19. Thanks! And yep, the 2003-11 alternate logo used orange fairly prominently: This afternoon we have the Mets! METS HOME: METS ROAD: METS HOME ALT: METS ROAD ALT: The Mets and Jets both played at Shea Stadium from 1964-83. This one is a pretty straightforward color swap of blue and orange for the Jets' green and black though I did bring back the 1987 road script. I originally wanted to keep black as a trim color but with the unfortunate news that the Mets will be bringing back their black alternates this season, I figured a BFBS alternate was appropriate. C&C appreciated! The White Sox will be up next.
  20. Thanks for all the great feedback! Based on your suggestion I've actually started working on the Dodgers in those late '90s Kings colors. The biggest challenge is to avoid having them look exactly like the Rockies. It's a crime against humanity but it's an interesting experiment nonetheless. I'll try the Mariners in modern Seahawks colors too. The M's current look in Seahawks colors has been done on these boards before by @Carolingian Steamroller so I might just apply those colors to the same look as my first version. Haha, I was trying to demonstrate that those early 2000s Astros unis could have worked with a better color scheme. I'll try the Oilers color on another Astros set once I get through the rest of the teams. Today we have the Detroit Tigers! TIGERS HOME: TIGERS ROAD: TIGERS HOME/ROAD ALT: The Detroit Lions played at Tigers Stadium from 1938-74, so I decided to try the Tigers in Honolulu blue and silver. I used the Tigers' 1940s cap logo for the "D" on both the home jersey and cap. I feel white scripts on the road uniform would be a nice way to set the road set apart from other teams. No orange but hey, white tigers exist so it could work in theory. C&C appreciated! The Mets x Jets are up next.
  21. Thank you! Let's close out the week with the Washington Senators! SENATORS HOME: SENATORS ROAD: SENATORS HOME ALT: SENATORS HOME/ROAD ALT: From 1930-61, both the Washington Senators and (Washington Football Team) played at Griffith Stadium. This is an attempted modernization of the old Senators identity using the (Washington Football Team) maroon and gold paired with the Nationals' "W" and alternate cap logo. I absolutely love that 1959-60 Senators script--easily one of my favorites in baseball history. C&C appreciated as always. The Tigers will be next!
  22. Thanks! I agree 100%. Up this afternoon are the Padres! PADRES HOME: PADRES ROAD: PADRES HOME ALT: PADRES ROAD ALT: The Padres use the same colors as the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers which I also utilized for my second Dodgers concept earlier in this thread. Both the Padres and Chargers played at Qualcomm Stadium from 1969-2003 before the Friars moved into Petco Park in 2004 (Fun fact, I happened to be in downtown San Diego opening night in '04 without even realizing it). I went back and forth on which Padres design to go with before ultimately settling on something inspired by their 1991-2003 look. C&C appreciated! Washington is up next.
  23. Carlos Rodon in a 1983 White Sox-inspired uniform while pitching for NC State... ...and wearing an actual '83 White Sox throwback while pitching for them:
  24. That's doable! Here are two options for the Astros. The first is the alt with matching Columbia Blue pants, and the second is a blue version of the road uni: ASTROS ROAD ALT: ASTROS ROAD: Let me know what you think! Today's team is the Miami Marlins! MARLINS HOME: MARLINS ROAD: MARLINS HOME ALT: MARLINS ROAD ALT: The Marlins shared residence with the Miami Dolphins at Joe Robbie Stadium/Pro Player Park/Dolphins Stadium/Land Shark Stadium from 1993-2011 before moving to Marlins Stadium in 2012. I went back to the Marlins late '90s look but dropped the pinstripes and added a white front paneled cap in an attempt to create a more modern, sleek design. I've always thought the Dolphins' color scheme would work brilliantly for the Fish; unpopular opinion but something about the teal and black alone without a warm color always felt too "cold" to me, particularly for a team that plays in a sunny city like Miami. C&C appreciated! The Padres x Chargers are next.
  25. Thanks for the feedback! We're back today with the Oakland A's! ATHLETICS HOME: ATHLETICS ROAD: ATHLETICS HOME/ROAD ALT: The A's and Raiders were the last MLB & NFL teams to share a multi-sport stadium, Oakland Coliseum, before the Raiders relocated to Las Vegas in 2020. For this design, I replaced the current elephant sleeve patch with the "tougher" '90s version and brought back the Old English "Oakland" script from the late '60s for the road uniform. I know you're probably thinking "Now the A's look exactly like the White Sox!" I do have something interesting planned for the South Siders. C&C appreciated!
