  1. Hard to tell from the clip but this more or less (probably) confirms it.
  2. I like the classic Sharks jersey as much as anyone, but this might just be their best look yet. They probably could have done more with the hanger effect instead of it just being orange, but oh well. Caustiously optimistic about the rest of the uniform.
  3. I'm liking the Sharks set. Teal helmet and pants might be a bit much for the home uniform, but it could look interesting. Great way to add more teal to the roads instead of having their primary colour dominated by black equipment. Is the Vegas jersey based on anything in particular or is this more of a 90's fauxback?
  4. Considering they rebranded in the same year, it's gonna be weird to see the modern era Ducks against the black and red Sabres. Good to see them bring it back though. -- And speaking of the Ducks; on their promotional schedule is a "Throwback Night" for their December 30th game against Nashville. I'm guessing this is one of their Reverse Retro dates.
  5. While I would like to think this kind of promotion of the third jersey is, well, a sign of it being promoted, the Ducks also tweeted Zegras and Drysdales' new numbers with black jersey graphics. That would be surprising, but probably the best they can do with these colours. I suppose they could call it a 2015 throwback and use it to test the waters that way. It looks like the Knights are using it as an excuse to put out a black version of their existing uniform, so there's that. On one hand the versatility of this logo works in its favour; they used a silver triangle to make it pop better against a purple background (I guess?) and now they have a version with yellow sticks so they don't blend into the orange base (probably). But yeah, I agree some standardisation would be nice. I would prefer that they stick to the version with gold triangle and orange sticks like on the shoulder patch. Them using the current third jersey crest on merch often results in apparel and other stuff that weirdly has no orange whatsoever, or has yellow instead. I can appreciate this new orange triangle, gold sticks version if they're remaking the classic white jersey and are aiming to have the orange match up with the green parts of that. But it also makes me think of numerous fan recolours that don't match what the team uses and somehow feels wrong.
  6. The logo has an additional grey (or silver?) outline, which makes me think of one of their alternates. Maybe the 50th Anniversary jersey in black, but with silver instead of gold accents. Beyond the obvious colour swap they did before it feels like the Habs don't have many options for Reverse Retros. I like that they're thinking outside the box for this one.
  7. And there you have it; "more orange in Anaheim". A white and orange version of the classic Mighty Ducks jersey seems like a safe bet. I'm guessing we'll see a repeat of the Dallas '99 jersey but in black and green this time. Interesting that they went with the shoulder patch here though. 90's Jets jersey in their modern colours should look nice.
  8. Sadly it looks like we're suffering another year of the Ducks' current duds. At least going by the promo shot they're using for the season schedule. I'm thinking "more orange" probably means whatever they're doing with the Reverse Retro.
  9. Part of me misses the navy and copper Oilers and it was a good fit for the name. I also like the idea of them in navy and orange, or them being Canada's orange team. But this is their signature look and it's great to see it back again.
  10. Even before that, they slyly swapped it with the home uniform around midway through the season.
  11. Watching the Flames-Oilers highlights, I feel like I'm seeing more Flames fans in the black C jersey (yet the white C jerseys in the crowd are more noticable) and more Oilers fans in orange. Don't know what the general consensus is between them, but the Oilers going with the navy alternates especially come off as being out of touch with their own fans.
  12. I've been following the Leafs-Lightning series more closely than the rest, the back-and-forth between them has been great. Kind of pulling for the Leafs to break their curse and get past the first round already, but also it'd be neat to see Perry win one more Cup. So I'll be bandwagoning with whoever wins this one.
  13. It seems inevitable since it's literally in their name. The gold jerseys are at least more visually interesting than the grey version, even if they are tacky. But the greys are nice and it would be a shame to ditch them altogether, especially if they're planning to literally play Black Knights dress-up with a new alt
  14. They have in fact changed it to red instead of pink, after polling their employees. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/bandai-namco-has-changed-its-logo-again/ As for the speech bubble; The new logo has been stuck on the boxes of some model kits that were launched with the Nu Gundam statue in Fukuoka. Don't know if this is because of them being a 'special' release (they're exclusive to that venue) or if this is something they'll be doing with all new kits. Also for those not in the know; the blue Bandai logo on the box is that of Bandai Spirits, which was formed in 2018 after a corporate reshuffling. All of their model kits released since, including reprints of older kits, have this blue logo instead of the red one.
  15. I still prefer eggplant and jade, and - being a faraway fan - kind of regret that I never got to go to a game in that era... or either time they brought those colours back. Depending on what they do for the 30th, maybe I'll take the plunge and actually make a trip there. Also neither of their primary black and orange looks have been particularly good. The above concept is a step in the right direction, but almost anything would be an improvement. Anyway, if we're "expecting more orange" maybe the third gets swapped with the home, with an eventual matching white jersey down the line. Or they're getting an orange Reverse Retro. Or a jersey ad which happens to be orange.
  16. I liked the jade yoke. Nice to have more colour on an otherwise black heavy jersey. A rebrand might make sense for the post-Getzlaf era and with the upcoming 30th Anniversary, but as early as next season? Somehow I doubt it. Then again the Samuelis seem to really like that orange jersey. It looks OK, but there's not much contrast between the black and grey. What they have now makes more sense if their goal is to promote it to primary.
  17. Getzlaf is calling it a career.
  18. The Ducks have been pushing orange as their secondary colour for years and yet the NHL style guides continue to be weirdly insistent on beige-gold for them.
  19. Now there's a bold rebrand if I ever saw one For some reason Calgary's white jersey in their red and black era never worked for me, and yet this one kind of does, even though it probably shouldn't. Maybe it's the consistency in the stiping design, or how the use of black is more natural here as opposed to how shoehorned it felt back then. I don't love the Blasty logo and I think the Flames should be a primarily red team - with or without black - but for a Blasty-centric version of the Flames this is a good look. Today I learned that Calgary has a cowboy hat in their flag, and that is awesome. At first I thought the city jersey was a nod to the Calgary Cowboys but I guess it's more of a coincidental resemblance.
  20. I like the tweak to the Sabres logo. I see what you were going for in making the stripes more consistent, but the yellow accents really do get lost in the white jersey - and seeing this now has made me understand why they historically put more emphasis on it on their road whites. With the alternate, I don't think the old-timey stiched numbers mesh well with the modern uniform design (but I also agree that their 90's number font was terrible). Somehow I'm getting the impression that the bison is annoyed at being mistaken for a "goat head" one too many times. A dark blue flag inspired city jersey could have worked, but with the lightning bolt imagery I suppose you'd run into the issue of them looking like another team, so going a different direction makes sense here. After using front numbers for several years, it would be funny to see them go all the way with footbaw numbers on the front. But what about that shoulder patch, or the script from their 40th anniversary alts instead?
  21. I never thought the Bruins' modern look could be improved, but you've pretty much done just that. The subtle simplification to the spoked B works well. The dark brown is an appropriate middle ground between their current black and the original brown, and this colour scheme looks fantastic and really suits them. I like the alternate yellow jersey, however I'm a bit disappointed that it still features black instead of brown. I'm not familiar enough with the inspiration behind the city uniform, but visually it makes much more sense for the Bruins than the Red Sox.
  22. The Coyotes kachina jerseys are a unique design but the muted colours on a primarily black uniform makes for a surprisingly dull look on the ice. I think they look better as a red team, and this simple colour swap of yours looks great. However I think the white jersey also needs to emphasise red as the primary colour instead of black. And speaking of black, I like the alternate uniform. Not much else to say except that the striping design reminds me of an enlarged version of what the Ducks currently use in their branding (as do the Kraken). But since your version of the Ducks are no longer using that design I guess this is a moot point The city jersey is excellent. Love the sunset striping.
