  1. The M’s City Connect jersey is very nearly perfect. I’d go as far as to say it’s my favorite jersey the Mariners have ever had in blue & yellow. The only thing I’m not big on is the patch logo and, as sort of a reverse of the Rangers, I wish they went with navy instead of black. I also would’ve used black/navy for the middle stripe, but that’s a minor quibble. The pants though… yeah, oof. That decision really takes this set down more than a few notches. I’m not even someone that thinks baseball pants need to always be lighter colors, I’ve welcomed Nike’s experimentation with darker pants with City Connects like the Rockies, Astros, & the Rangers’ recent ones. But this simply does not look right. Blue pants would have even been tolerable, & white pants would’ve made this uniform glorious. I wouldn’t have even minded the dark brim on the cap, as that option would’ve been equally as valid as a blue or yellow brim. Overall, this could’ve ended up easily becoming one of the best City Connects, but it ended up being one of the most disappointing.
  2. Seattle Mariners City Connect The M's new City Connect jersey is pretty much perfect, it's the pants where things go south. I just changed the black to navy & replaced the patch with the new "M-trident." I'll likely be back with an attempt at a full redesigned set in the navy & teal inspired by this design.
  3. Nice start so far! I like the Diamondbacks quite a lot, the full-name alternate is especially interesting, how did you manage to make that? Since the “D-Backs” alternate is so similar, I think you could probably just drop it. For the Braves, the “triple piping” on the alternates makes them look a bit busy to me, maybe you could try dropping the white from the stripes & see how that looks? Looking forward to seeing more!
  4. You already know I love this idea, but I’ve been meaning to give more in-depth feedback on all the teams as I can since Twitter isn’t quite as conducive to that, so here it is: Florida: I said as much on Twitter, but I really feel like a Tennessee shade of orange (I know, ironic) would fit better for them. The highway inspiration is interesting, but if I’m not mistaken, don’t most states have green & yellow highway signs? I live in Florida as well so I honestly can’t remember. Meanwhile though, oranges are uniquely and quintessentially Florida, to where they even appear on the license plates (which maybe you could take inspiration from as opposed to the highway signs). I don’t know, that’s just my 2¢. Tennessee: Love it. I think a white front panel might work best for the home cap, but that might get you too much into Vols territory. Each of the options you presented look great, though. California: Looks great! Not much to say beyond that I like the unique color scheme combined with the traditional aesthetic. Utah: The logo & wordmark are both genius, especially the subtlety of the “U.” I would love to see a color scheme closer to the Jazz red rocks City jersey, though. Nevada: Similar to Utah, I love the cap state hidden in the logo. Georgia: One of my favorites of the series for sure, The inclusion of peach is a natural decision but looks gorgeous. Indiana: Love the checker-stripe pattern! Minnesota: You did my family’s home state proud! I love the color scheme, wordmarks, cap logo, striping, it all flows together beautifully. New York: A classic look for a classic state. I particularly dig the vertical sleeve stripes. Colorado: I like the color scheme, but there seems to be a disconnection between the cap logo & the wordmark. Personally, I prefer the wordmark, I’d be curious if you could create a cap logo based off of that. Texas: I know the wordmark is supposed to say “Texas,” but it’s difficult to read it that way because of the different colors. I know you want to avoid deriving too much inspiration from college teams, but I feel like Longhorns burnt orange would work great in some capacity for Texas, maybe. Hawaii: Love the colors & wordmarks! Michigan: Similarly, I dig the color scheme & font. Virginia: The “V-heart” logo is great, I wonder if the red could drift more towards pink for some extra uniqueness? Arizona: Perfect. Just perfect. Sorry, I know that was a lot, but I wanted to be sure to catch up with all the teams so far. I’ll try to keep up more regularly from now on! Can’t wait to see the rest!
  5. Texas Rangers City Connect I like the Rangers' City uniform, so I just added the "rope" striping from the socks onto the sleeves. Like the Braves, I also added a "team-colors" version because I couldn't decide which I liked better.
  6. Atlanta Braves City Connect I honestly think their uniform is fine, so I wouldn't change anything, but I added a black & red version, which fits with the color scheme I gave them and is a more fitting civic color scheme for the city of Atlanta.
  7. I'm back with some City Connect tweaks! I'll post the Braves first and then the Rangers later this afternoon.

    MLB x NIKE, TAKE II

Thanks! It's kind of sad to go back through this thread and see that a lot of the images seem to be missing, but oh well. I'd be happy to let you use the template! Let me know via message if there's anything you need me to send you. Looking forward to seeing your ideas!
  9. I never said that they needed a more unique scheme, just that it would be nice. And more unique doesn't necessarily mean they have to be the most unique.
  10. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this, but it's interesting to point out that most of us collectively clamored for brown & yellow to make its return in MLB for literal decades. Just because the uniform design itself is pretty wacky, that doesn't mean that brown & yellow couldn't work as a football color scheme. Wyoming is a perfect example. I would just default to royal & orange for the Broncos in particular because they had that scheme for a longer time and it's what people more easily associate them with. EDIT: Yeah, @Brave-Bird 08 & @Sec19Row53 said it more succinctly than I did.
  11. Yeah, that too. The two go hand in hand for me.
  12. Just because I wouldn’t mistake the Broncos for the Bears unless they played each other in Chicago, that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be nice to have an extra unique color scheme in the NFL. I don’t really care what logo they use, but I’m in favor of the Broncos going back to royal blue.
  13. This pretty much exactly describes my general rule of thumb when it comes to uniform changes. Some rare changes toe the line a bit between “redesign” & “rebrand” though, the Twins being the most recent example. I personally consider theirs to be a “rebrand” since, even though they kept the same basic color scheme, every single logo & wordmark was updated & made consistent into one new “brand.” Most other cases are pretty clear-cut, though, such as the 2020 Rams being a “rebrand” and the Cardinals’ new uniforms being a “redesign,” since they kept their logo, colors, & wordmarks.
  14. I’ve been meaning to comment on the Rangers’ City Connect, but since they wore them for the first time last night: … I … kind of dig the dark pants look, especially for the Rangers..? I don’t think I could explain why if I tried, but it works. The reveal made it look black though, which I liked more in this particular case than the dark navy. The logos themselves are alright, but I like the unconventional placement of the logo on the right chest. I wish they made the “rope” striping seen on the socks more prominent, as that would’ve been a cool element to elevate. Overall, given my usual caveat that I still don’t like that the City program was carried over to MLB, I’d put the Rangers solidly in the good-but-not-great range. As for the Mariners leak, I like that wordmark & number font a lot more than I expected. It’s a rare case where beveling works, as do the dropshadows, mostly because of the colors they went with. I’m not big on the patch logo, but everything else is nice. I vastly prefer the M’s as a navy & teal team, but this seems to be about as good as they could’ve done with the blue & yellow.
  15. If I may ask, did the helmet you see match what was released? I’d just be curious about the discrepancy between that and the rumored changing color scheme.
  16. An upgrade for sure, but an underwhelming one. They really do look like Ohio State, especially with the black alt. The addition of silver is incredibly perplexing when they had so many other more interesting colors they could have incorporated, which is a luxury very few other teams have. Copper, desert gray, orange, gold, or Arizona flag blue would have each been a better fit for the Cardinals than silver. I think the home uniform is fine, if not pretty uninspiring. The wordmark is a little too big and definitely too low because of the new template. With white pants though (which I do think we’ll see), it won’t look terrible. I think people will get used to this set once the dust settles. Realistically, it’s nearly exactly what most of us wanted from a Cardinals redesign, albeit with a few unnecessary (but thankfully not too intrusive) Nike flourishes. I think we all got caught up a bit in the hype about a rumored new color scheme and outside-the-box design decisions. The most interesting part now, for me at least, will be hearing more about @TruColor’s rumors he heard & the helmet he saw, even though they clearly turned out to be untrue. I would love to hear as much about that as possible since, as expected, it seems more intriguing than the design we got.
  17. Revised prediction right ahead of the reveal: As much as I trust @TruColor, I have a feeling the changes are not going to be as extreme as we thought, given that the current logo & wordmark appear to be all over the event. The maroon & orange color scheme did seem interesting, though.
  18. @Jeffery posted a concept featuring orange/copper/whatever-you-wanna-call-it flakes on a white helmet, to which @TruColor replied: I’d assume that means no orange flakes.
  19. @TruColor already debunked this, though if there are going to be flakes, I’d want them to be copper, personally. If not, desert gray.
  20. I can’t lie, this annoys me a bit every time I see it because I consistently read it at first as a typo of “Saints.” Could it at least be typed out as “snatiT”?
  21. Final predictions before tomorrow, based off of nothing other than @TruColor’s hints & my own guesses: I don’t think the red shade will be ask dark as Washington’s maroon, but I could see it being a bit darker than their current red. I think they’ll pair it with a “desert” gray, a bigger presence of athletic gold, and maybe the slightest bit of orange, similar to the state flag. At that point I’d like to see them just drop gold entirely and replace it with orange, for a more unique color scheme, but it doesn’t seem like they’ll go that route. I’d prefer they go with “desert gray” specks on the helmet, but maybe they’ll be gold? Something to do with sunshine? I think we’ll see the 3D logo, but in desert cardinal colors. I have no idea what color the facemask will be, but my guess is it’ll be white, since every other color seems to be off the table. I think an orange or a red facemask would’ve been nice. I can see the jersey having the Arizona flag stemming from below the collar, much like @Jeffery’s concept, but fitting to the new Vapor Fusion template. I have a feeling his concept might end up looking better than the final product, though. If there are indeed 4 jerseys, I have no idea what they could all be… Cardinal & white are a given (I hope), but beyond that… maybe desert gray and gold, with one of the two being the Color Rush? Who knows. Even though I likely won’t be able to see it until Friday morning because I’m 6 hours ahead of the East Coast currently, I’m still quite excited for this reveal.
  22. It’s fine that you don’t like the Twins new uniforms, but I’m going to argue against the idea that their new uniform set isn’t “unique.” Check out this uniform, which in my opinion is better than anything I’ve dreamt up myself for the Twins in the 10+ years I’ve done concepts: Compared to all of the other navy & red teams in MLB (a total of 7, including the Twins), this navy alternate is the only one that utilizes: single-layer, no outline wordmark & numbers, a tri-color batting helmet (at home at least), splitting apart of the white & red (besides the sleeve stripes, which is one minor gripe I have with this jersey), and the Nationals are the only other team to employ a contrasting front number, albeit with outlines. Similarly, they are the only other team whose navy alternate is worn at home & on the road. The Twins’ previous navy alternate(s) did not have any traits unique to themselves. The new home uniform has a similar uniqueness among navy & red teams, in that it foregoes outlines & splits up the navy & the red, allowing each color to “pop” individually. Shoehorning an extra unnecessary color into the scheme on only half of your uniforms is not the only way to achieve “uniqueness.”
  23. If the helmet is indeed going to be “radical” change, this would’ve been pretty much my exact guess on what it would look like… and honestly I wouldn’t have minded it. Makes me all the more curious to see what the actual design will be. Also, looking at the jersey design, this seems like the perfect opportunity on Nike’s end to shoehorn the Arizona flag design in to fit with their incoming Vapor Fusion (?) template.
