  1. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/nhl-ban-pride-tape-1.6991413 Of course the league can't get out of their own way right before the season is about to start. Pride tape was never a mandatory thing, like the warmup jerseys, and there have been zero controversies related to players not using it. People were real quick to defend the players' freedoms when it came to not wearing the jerseys, but now they don't have the freedom to use multi-coloured tape? I'd be curious to see what happens if a player decides to use it anyway. Or if a goalie decided to paint a pride flag on his helmet. I can only imagine the bad press that would come out if the league starts issuing fines to players for supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
  2. I don't envision the Knights ditching gold as their primary home colour anytime soon. I'm sure if we look back in 20 years this will still look like Vegas's "right" uniform.
  3. At least the 49ers use the same gold pants with both uniforms. They also don't use red at home & burgundy on the road, so there's really no comparison to the Cowboys.
  4. The Rams were in LA for 48 years before moving to St. Louis. They wore some version of blue & yellow for 39 of those seasons, and wore blue & white for 8. Not sure why people want them to play Colts dress up based on a very brief period of the franchise's history.
  5. This is my favourite uniform matchup in NFL history. It's a shame we only get to see it every 8 years. Not defending the Cowboys, but the Yankees aren't the best example to cite. At least not while they use two different interlocking NYs on the same uniform.
  6. They just need to commit to a look instead of trying to have it both ways. The D-Backs use of turquoise is the same as the Twins previous use of gold. It looks fine on the home jersey, but is inexplicably absent from the rest of their uniforms. If they did decide to incorporate turquoise into the full set, I wouldn't mind seeing the white jersey tweaked. The turquoise front numbers & names on back stick out way too much. It should just be a trim colour.
  7. I've always wondered if there was a way to do an NHL version of Redzone, and I appreciate that they're trying something new, but I just don't see the format translating to hockey that well. Football is pretty straightforward. Aside from the occasional big catch or kick/punt return TD, you can generally tell when a team is about to score. Hockey is far too fast paced to have any way of predicting when a goal might be scored, unless you have a team on the power play or a game in OT. I feel like this will mostly be cutting between highlights, as opposed to having multiple live feeds going
  8. Yeah, I don't understand why they unveiled a brand new logo for the centennial, but it doesn't actually match the logo on the centennial jersey. Either use the classic yellow on the jerseys, or use the metallic gold on the logo.
  9. The Petes were so close to getting back to their classic look. It's a massive improvement over the last set, but desperately needs a hem stripe.
  10. I guarantee most people on social media wouldn't even notice the difference if there were a stripe on the pants. The "clean" look just means white pants & socks with a white jersey.
  11. The NFL didn't let them wear the white helmet with their primary uniforms, so they had to bring back the colour rush as an alternate in order to use the alternate helmet. I guess they made the case that the white jersey/black pants combo is their primary look, and the all-white is the alternate. Carolina used the same logic to be allowed to wear the black helmets with the all-black uniform.
  12. The Cowboys jersey design + Eagles rip off helmet seems sacrilegious.
  13. Well a quick google search of "MLB attendance" & "MLB tv ratings" would have given you plenty of sources confirming the growth, but here you go. https://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2023/07/14/mlb-rule-changes-are-key-reason-for-increase-in-tv-streaming-and-attendance-league-says/?sh=788015747db2 https://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2023/08/16/mlb-attendance-headed-for-biggest-attendance-increase-since-1998-expansion/?sh=40715949444f
  14. This year MLB has seen its biggest jump in attendance since '98, and that season had the benefit of two expansion teams being added. More than two thirds of the clubs have seen an increase in attendance, and about half of them have had attendance boosts of at least 10%. The median age of ticket buyers has gone down as well, so there's been an influx of younger fans going to games. Regional broadcasts have also seen a rise in viewership, despite the fact that these networks have been steadily losing subscribers. Obviously we need to see how long things keep trending in the right direction, but MLB has been pretty aggressive in trying to improve their product and fans have clearly taken notice.
  15. I was surprised to see how negative the reaction to these has been on the mainstream channels. I’ve even seen a few comments claiming it’s the worst jersey of all time. It’s not perfect, but it’s a solid fauxback. I think it’d be better if the silver outline around the logo was white instead.
  16. If the white numbers on the Bruins jersey weren't bad enough, the captains patches don't even have the gold outline.
  17. No team names, logos, or jerseys were released at yesterday’s draft, but based on the teams’ social media posts announcing their picks we got a hint at team colours. Montreal - burgundy Toronto - blue Ottawa - red Boston - green New York - teal/seafoam Minnesota - purple
  18. He was asking players to hand over their phones, and spent several minutes scrolling through them. Any other coach would probably get the benefit of the doubt, but Babcock has a history of playing psychological mind games on his players, and is pretty much universally disliked around the league. Veteran players, especially guys with a letter stitched to their jersey, will always instinctively stand up for their coach/organization publicly. It's part of the "don't rock the boat" culture that gets ingrained into players throughout their careers.
  19. The Rangers didn’t build a fixed roof dome though. They built a retractable roof, just like Houston, Arizona, and Miami.
  20. That's fair. I was just trying to offer a realistic solution.
  21. I'm sure it will be an improvement, but I guess I'm just a traditionalist who thinks that baseball should be played outside as much as possible. I've also seen firsthand the difference it makes at Jays' games when the roof is open compared to when it's closed.
  22. The Rams don't need blue, white, or bone pants. I've accepted that they won't be doing another full rebrand anytime soon, but these are the only two uniform combos they should be wearing.
  23. Some awful placement of the captains patches on the Ducks jerseys now that there's an ad & anniversary patch. They really should've just swapped out one of the shoulder patches for the anniversary logo.
