  1. If you put eyes on the hat logo people would probably lose their minds here. Henry is like the Washington Generals of between innings entertainment. He races against a kid, normally around 8 to 12, and always goofs off rounding third, only to get tackled and stood upon by said kids. They used to play Tubthumping when he got up and danced, but now they change the songs up every now and then.
  2. Houston and DC are sharing fields with other pro teams, so expecting fully colored end zones just isn't going to happen. Seattle falls in to that group as well and the Guardians are sharing space with two NFL teams who probably have just as much control over that stadium as the Seahawks have over theirs. I'm just glad we didn't see a return to the original XFL end zones which every single team got the exact same treatments. Also, when considering the Million dollar Game, this saves on the costs of cleaning up one end zone and putting the visitors wordmark there. None of the teams in AAF had to share space with a team currently playing during their season. McMahon is paying for the league out of pocket so expecting him to not seek ways to get some of that money back doesn't make sense. That's one thing Ebersol and company didn't seem to understand. Granted most of it was using less than reputable people to provide their original injections of cash that never arrived. I looked at the teams that don't use a logo on the neck and wonder if they would be better off to place the XFL logo there. But I think where it is now works.
  3. Not sure if this was mentioned, but I noticed Dallas has Bud Light Seltzer add on the back left of the helmet. I'm guessing we'll see the rest of the league start advertising there as well. Sorry the picture isn't as clear as I'd like it to be. Dallas would have looked better with light blue pants instead of black. As for the helmet logo, there's enough black on it that you don't need to use a light color outline but I think Tampa Bay needs it.
  4. If they made the sleeve caps white they'd be a major improvement. Even more with a good secondary logo.
  5. So the XFL tossed the referee's uniforms for the standard look. I wonder if it was a case of not having enough on hand or just Luck saying "Nope"!
  6. They were sending players to San Antonio, who had an arrangement with Colorado.
  7. I started creating the uniforms for most of the NCFA and current CFA teams in Madden 19 and 20. I was wondering if anyone has better skills at working with some of the code that has to be adjusted for the logos to populate in the scorebug and other parts of the game.
  8. I'm normally not a fan of stripes leaving the sleeve cap, but these are way better than what the Browns and Jets did because they don't go too far into the yoke or chest. I also like that specific model you choose because it let's you show off all parts of the uniform.
  9. Doesn't make sense to buy stadiums when renting out 5 games is better on the wallet. If $37,500 is the standard per game it's cheaper to rent than buy.
  10. https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/sports/synthetic-field-installed-for-soccer-football-at-globe-life-park-new-ballpark-nears-completion/2297086/?_osource=db_npd_nbc_kxas_twt_shr The synthetic field to be used by the new tenants at Arlington's Globe Life Park is installed and got its first use Thursday. Students with the Arlington Independent School District were treated to a clinic by the North Texas Soccer Club and were running through drills with the team when NBC 5 stopped by Thursday morning. The former home of the Texas Rangers will now host the XFL's Dallas Renegades and USL League One's North Texas Soccer Club, a reserve team for FC Dallas.
  11. Just because they are pro franchises doesn't mean they won't face the same issues high schools face. I'm watching Man United at Tranmere Rovers and that field looks worse than some American high school football fields. Manchester United fans also get cranky when the Rugby League final gets played at Old Trafford. For those teams with grass, bad weather can overtake the best field crews in the business. IT's the reason the NFL used to have a grass guru go to the host stadiums and install brand new grass. As far as turf, it comes down to having something that looks like a XFL/NFL/AAF field rather than looking like they borrowed someone else's field. In the AAF, San Antonio was able to use UTSA's field and have it look like there's, while Salt Lake was stuck with Utah Utes field due to everything being stitched in. Dallas will be using field turf as well as Globe Life will also have a USL soccer team playing there this year. As for that Catholic school, that was the case where I used to live as well. The only Catholic high school rotated games between the two biggest stadiums in the county until they finally built there own stadium less than a decade ago. As soon as they moved to their own stadium, those two stadiums were converted to turf, mainly to help for bids for state playoff games.
  12. I think that's any fanbase. There was a rock concert at Jacobs Field that ruined the outfield grass in the late 90's/ early 2000's. Fans were against the team doing that ever again. But since team's need to pay the bills that still happens. It's partly why Mapfre Stadium has a stage for their summer rock concerts, at the cost of permanent seating.
  13. MetLife does this for Jets and Giants. Most field turf builds don't take that into consideration.
  14. The other end zone says Cougars. they also have the cougars logos so that would require pulling them up as well.
  15. I always forget about that, because the San Antonio Rodeo runs the first half of February, then Houston kicks off the week after it finishes here.
  16. The only other true options that are within metropolitan New York are Yankee Stadium and Citi Field and Red Bull Arena. Yankee Stadium is good for football but you're also dealing with NYCFC games as well as Yankees games. The Mets don't really like anyone else on their field. And the Red Bulls don't like sharing with NYCFC unless MLS ordered them too, let alone American football. * - Yes, I know NYCFC would avoid playing at RBA unless it was required to stop the apocalypse.
  17. I think most leagues are in charge of branding now, with the ownership of each team giving some input here and there. You could see a ffew changes if they went to franchis ownership, but I'm not sure that would happen until this league was 10-15 years in. New turf is what? $400,000 plus labor for install and $37,500x5 days. So around $880,000 for turf install and field reservations. That's probably still under what NRG would charge by a good bit. https://fieldturf.com/en/why-fieldturf/cost-analysis/
  18. It's probably still cheaper to use U of H. And a 3/4 empty stadium will look worse on TV.
  19. It will look better than what Rice-Eccles looked like for Salt Lake Stallions games. A team playing on a field that had colors that weren't related to the home team was telling for how little attention had been paid to aesthetics by the AAF leadership. I'm guessing that either U of H had already ordered a new turf without logos, or the league paid for a field and the cost of swapping it out and maybe even replacing the turf after the season. I also think that once it's in we'll know what the layout for everyone else is. I think they wanted to use BBVA but were told to shove off by the Dynamo. With 5 home games, and possibly 2 playoff games at the start of the season, the Dynamo wouldn't want the wear and tear of two football seasons during their regular and possible postseason with TSU playing their from September to November.
  20. This is some underpants gnomes level insanity.
  21. Creative market may have what you need.
  22. midnight navy, thus they get confused at times as using black if the person isn't paying particular attention to it.
  23. Major League Football got all of the AAF gear. Black facemasks are pretty easy to get shipped immediately in place of a custom color mask.
  24. If they were having an issue with the coloring clashes I can see why they'd go with black. What they really should have changed was the side panels.
