Kinda related to this thread so I'll post it here...

Apparently, the Miami Marlins will play host to the 2017 All-Star Game.

Three consecutive NL ballparks hosting the All-Star Game, eh...?

And Nationals Park is the favorite for 2018

It seems like Toronto would be a strong candidate in the 2018-2020 timeframe if they can get the natural grass to work.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Radio guys talking about this earlier... not alternating NL/AL for hosting leaves consecutive leagues batting last in a game that decides home field.

They wondered if MLB should just alternate that aspect no matter where it's played. Otherwise give the HR derby league last at bat... which would be f'n hilariously stupid.

Well, yeah, either that or just alternate home field advantage in the World Series between leagues every year.

So simple, so brilliant. That's probably the best solution.

Or let the team with the better record have home field advantage, regardless of league.

Yeah, it worked just fine for 100 years or so. But to hell with tradition. Tradition is just a bunch of crap from the past. So says Bud. <end sarcasm>
