drdougfresh
I thought there was a general Dribbble thread, but I couldn't find one here. Starting this thread with the idea of others using it to advertise invites they receive in the future, should they want to reach out to more sports guys to join the community.I currently have 2 Dribbble Invitations up for grabs! Head here to enter: https://dribbble.com/shots/2093576-Face-Off-2-Invites-Up-for-GrabsIf you don't have a portfolio or website, feel free to post 3 or 4 400x300 'shots' of your work in this thread. I'll let everyone know once the invites are distributed. Best of luck!
wyopokes2
Have been trying to get in for 2 years now. I kind of gave up hope awhile ago. I am currently rebuilding my website so the closest thing I have to a portfolio is Behance right now. Link: https://www.behance.net/wyopokes2Thanks for the consideration Doug! JamieRose
You're following my Behance, you know what's up! Obviously feel more than free to invite someone you feel is better qualified. One thing I want to note; as a prospect I can't reply to a shot on Dribbble. It's kind of lame since it makes prospects these like silent stalkers. To answer your question though, Marino-era Dolphins. Between the uniform still having real sleeves, the perfect color combination, and the classic sleeve stripes those were among the best.

CDixonDesign
Doug, do you have a Pro account? I wonder what the trick is to gaining invites. I've never gotten one.
drdougfresh
I do, and this is the first time I've gotten any invites. I've been pro for almost a year now, been on Dribbble for quite a bit longer -- seems like it happens at random. Maybe some algorithm based loosely on activity would be my guess. tBBP
^ I think you may be right, Doug.A very long time ago I got two invites. Took almost two years to get another one. (Or either I had it well before I knew about it...I'm not exactly that active over there these days. Or up in here for that matter.)Didn't someone in the Concepts section come up with some kind of Concept draft competition or something a while back? Whatever came of that? That may be a way of scouting future talent to invite into the club.... *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||

drdougfresh
Dribbble is an invite-only site for designers to share what they're working on in 400x300 'shots'. Sort of like an Instagram style site, but with a much more niche community. You must be invited by a current member to join.
tBBP
^ And of course, the key to that, as Doug said, is [supposed to be] to share what designers and artists are working on, as more of a "professional grade" comment-n-critique forum. Problem is, by my observation, about 90% of the time it winds up becoming another de facto portfolio outlet for many of the members there. All that said...one can only stand to learn and gain from bumping [virtual] elbows with that many established professionals and that much up-and-coming talent up in there...such as the aforementioned Doug up above, such as a Mark Crosby (mcrosby), such as a Michael Taylor (raysox), such as an Elliott Strauss (elliott), in addition to the TJ Harleys, Kris Bazens, Andrew Harringtons, Andrew Sterlachinis and of course the Fraser Davidsons of the world just to name a few (all of whom either were or are active members here at some point). *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||

Anyone seeming to share actual work-in-progress stuff doesn't seem to fit in anymore.

the_dragon
Hey if anybody winds up with a spare invite they wanna give away I'd love to have one as well! I'm always checking Dribbble so it would be cool to actually be able to properly use it sometime. jaha32
Problem is, by my observation, about 90% of the time it winds up becoming another de facto portfolio outlet for many of the members there.I'm probably guilty of this, but I think lots of people, myself included, are more comfortable posting polished final versions than works-in-progress.Anyway, good idea for a thread, Doug. I wish I had an invite to give out but my guess is that I'm probably not active enough to have any. I know this isn't a concept, but do you think this thread might get more attention in the concepts area here? tBBP
^ My guess is that would be up to the mods. I'm positively certain it would get more views there, though. Or maybe we can come up with some way to get more people to view the General Design forum so that they even know this thread exists. Someone had the idea over there for some kind of think tank thread in which some dribbble invites would be given out as some kind of prize...don't know if that ever gained any traction, though. Anyone know whatever happened to that? *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||
