I think it's time to abolish DPI entirely.

Or DBs can play within the rules.  I was as "oh here we go again" as anyone, but that flag has to get thrown.  I don't think he makes the catch either way, because a better DB would hit him as soon as the ball hits his hands, but the defender needs to be smarter there.

I hate the subjective calls like PI and RtP, etc, and wish there was some way for someone to buzz down and correct or add more context for the officials, but that was DPI, and that DB should feel like an ass.

I just saw the play because I missed it live.

Pat Mahomes will always get that call, while that specific play generally doesn't get called at most any other game.

The DB was behind the receiver, who still had every ability to catch the ball.

If there's an iffy call at the end of a Chiefs game, it's always going to go KC's way. Unless until Travis Kelce retires.

Yeah, I get that everyone currently hates the Chiefs and is therefore ready to go off anytime a call goes their way, but try not to make yourself look dumb when you complain about it. Last week that Raven's toe was most definitely and clearly on the line, and tonight that DB blasted the receiver from behind.  Watch the replays and pretend you don't know who's playing.

Aaaand, there you go. You know, if the refs were actually invested in the Chiefs comeback, they probably would've just ignored all those holding and illegal hands to the face calls they (correctly) made on last two KC drives. I'm guessing no Chiefs hater was complaining then?

actually, no, that flag doesn't have to get thrown. like DG said, the DB was completely behind him; how the hell is that not a catchable pass? and how many Chiefs games have we been having this exact same argument at the end of, now? there's a point where correlation inarguably equals causation.

hell, at least the Brady-era Pats actually felt like they were trying on their game-winning drives; with the Chiefs, it really feels like all that's going through Mahomes' head is "eh, screw it, they'll throw a flag for some reason or another." and it feels like it's every single time.

I have as much "Mahomes fatigue" as anyone. It was a good call.

I really hate that hands-to-the-face call.  It was the proper call, and I'd be ticked if it was against my team and wasn't called, but in general, if he's not grasping the mask or using the mask for leverage and napping the guy's head back, it's not the worst thing in the world and there can be some leeway.  So correctly called, but I dislike the rule.

But yeah - this isn't a good time for Chiefs conspiracy theorists to be complaining considering Cincinnati got the flag they needed to put themselves in position to end it, and they blew it.

Even with absolutely HORRIBLE clock management at the end, and with the defense basically falling apart around them (Take my legs, Vita!), the Bucs still pulled out the win vs Detroit.

I have yet to see either of my stupid, yet wholly underrated, football teams (Sun Devils and Bucs) lose yet this year. I’m sure it’ll come crashing g back to earth soon enough, but for now I’m gonna ride this high, baby.

If "DG said it was a bad call" is the argument, then it's a weak one.  I would have loved it had it not been called, but it was fairly called.  And this is coming from someone who's team lost a SB based on one of these super-close "could have looked the other way" types of calls.

Listen, I didn't even watch the game, just a clip on Reddit.

I own my biases, so I call it as I want it to have been.

I dunno I screamed this same stuff about the Pats and now it feels like it’s just repeating with KC.

I’m starting to think that maybe these teams are just more disciplined and that’s why they win. Cincinnati is SO talented, but they’ve dumbed themselves out of so many games recently. I think teams like the Chiefs and Pats just know how to take advantage of these other franchises just being obtuse and continually making the same mistakes.

Like, it’s infuriating to watch this repeat itself like it did with the Pats, but the Chiefs aren’t the ones we should be mad at here. We SHOULD be mad at all of these other rock headed teams for not actually fixing the problems they have in order to compete with them.

Don’t worry. The Commanders are gonna make the Bengals look like the biggest gathering of geniuses in the world next Monday night. We’re in store for the most embarrassing 50 piece to be dropped.

It was DPI. They could've said Anthony was going for the ball, which he's supposed to have the same rights to as the receiver, but you can't blast the receiver that early in pursuing the ball. I don't know why a 7th round draft pick in his second ever NFL game was out there for that play.

More annoyed that the Bengals had the lead and the ball and could've closed the game on their own and the offense blew it, which is becoming an irritating pattern in the Taylor/Burrow era. Also had a six point lead and then Burrow fumbled away a touchdown (we got a curious lack of replay on that one. It felt like they could've declared him down if they wanted to.)

The Chiefs have that late Brady Pats thing where teams gift them wins even when they don't play well. Feels like the Bengals gave it to them.

Eagles AJ Brown, IMO their most important skill player, out for tonight and probably next week.  On the good side, Hurts may not close his eyes and throw it in his direction regardless of if all 11 defenders are around him, but on the bad side, Brown usually still catches those.

Do you remember a few years ago how people protested and they removed those old statues of confederate leaders and, like, Christopher Columbus, and even dumped one or two of them in the river? And how one of those statues is actually still in a river rotting because nobody knows how to move it without seriously overrunning costs?

Well, that statue is also the starting quarterback for the Falcons.  I think the Eagles will be fine.
