Didn't they investigate him for having ties to the mafia?

Anyway, I always thought he'd slide into some role with the Cyclones when his time with the Mets was done. I guess he still thinks he has something in him.

On an entirely unrelated note, the Yankees signed Rey Sanchez as their backup middle infielder.

Mets and Rangers both pulled out of the Delgado race. Only Baltimore & Florida left in the running.

Wow, that's the opposite of what I heard.

I think Dlegado would have been a bust with the Mets some of his actions the not stading for GBA, the smiling after losses the not really caring about being ona winner and some of his mannerism would not play well in New York and if he struggled he would be one of those players the fans and media would hate. He's got allot of Bobby Bonillia traits and thiose traits equal disaster in Shea Stadium.

I rather see the Mets get some one like Olerud or Meitkiewicz.

A member on MarlinsBaseball.com close the Delgado family says that Delgado has chosen to play for the Marlins. This guy is reliable because he has been correct on all the information he has given. He says an announcement might come soon.

Delgado Discussion Thread on MarlinsBaseball.com.

Watch out it is going on 205+ pages!

I'm not surprised -- the offers were similar (Mets offered an extra million), except in Florida Carlos won't have to deal with the people bashing him for the GBA stuff.

Also in NY there is a state income tax that he would have to pay so he really was getting around 48M. In reality the Marlins 50M was higher than the Mets.

1050 AM in NY reports Marlins sign Delgado.

NewsDay, ESPNEWS, and Jason Starks confirm!

Marlins sign free agent 1B Carlos Delgado to 4 year $52,000,000 deal.

GO NUTS!

Man that'll take some getting used to.

Just replace the light blue with teal and he doesn't have to change his colour scheme.
