He moved on to start as a true freshman and has yet to dissapoint. I for one would take Leak over Leinart, but you can argue the hardware. Mings Posted May 4, 2005 Share Posted May 4, 2005 going back the past 10 years or so, the higher they were picked, the harder they fell with manning being one of the only exceptions and living up to the hype. i think aaron rodgers falling in the draft will help him become an awesome qb, since he will be surrounded by a good team when he takes the reigns.as far as next years draft goes, who knows, but leak does know how to deal with adversity. only fate can tell. it could have been the colts drafting ryan leaf and then moving to la because no one would support a sucky team instead of drafting manning, winning (except in the playoffs) and now getting a new stadium. It's not easy playing quarterback when the defense knows that the only thing your offense is capable of doing is passing the ball. And it's a lot easier being a defensive coordinator if that's the case.*edit-- that's not to say that the Dolphins could pass the ball -- but they sure as hell couldn't run it. That kid not only has one hell of an arm, but also is one of the smartest football players ive ever seen. Leak has never really impressed me and i hope he sucks big time and never dose anything in the rest of his college career and never has a shot to make the pros. But hey, im a Tennessee fan and the biggest Gator hater in the world.
