I think if the Colts can get Ty Law, they may have a shot to take down the NE juggernaut. they also drafted a CB in the first round, correct? Their D should be upgraded this year, bt i still don't know if they can beat the Pats.

I think a team that may shock a ton of people is the Vikings. Everyone knows about Culpepper. Sure, Moss is gone, but they got a playmaker to replace him, and their D should be excellent this year.

Just look at their D line: Pat Williams, Kevin Williams, Kenichi Udenze and new addition Erasmus James. Plus they got Winfield, and Sharper in the backfield.

Theyre my early favourites for NFC North title, and possibly NFC overall title.

AFC-wise, if JP Losman doesn't have too many growing pains, I can see the Bills in the playoffs. Willis is just beginning to show what he can do, and the Bills D is the best in the division, and possibly the league.

Vikings would scare me. But you have to factor in something.

I think the Colts are already capable of taking down the Patriots -- they just need to have a good enough regular season to get homefield advantage.

And I'm not sure sure the Vikings will be a suprise team. I never thought I'd be able to say that they could lose Randy Moss and still have a great off-season -- but they've had one of the best in the league. I think they're very capable of winning the NFC -- especially if Owens isn't wearing an Eagles uniform next year.

Though if Owens does come back, I know this little war between McNabb and Owens won't get in the way of how McNabb plays football -- so they're still the favorites as long as they have Owens.

I disagree...first of all, to get the homefield advantage, the Colts will likely have to win their regular season game in New England this year. At the very least, it would end up being the tiebreaker.

As many in this thread have already said, Indy needs to learn to play defense! And not only that, Peyton Manning and his offensive teammates need to learn to solve the New England defense. That's not just in Foxboro, but in the RCA Dome as well.

Needless to say, despite the hurdles they'll face, the Patriots are going to win the big one once again. Belichick and Brady are still at the helm, and -- despite many peoples' thoughts that the loss of Tedy Bruschi will derail the defensive core -- their team defense will once again prove dominant in the postseason, thanks to roleplayers like Rodney Harrison, Richard Seymour, Eugene Wilson and Asante Samuel.

Patriots win Super Bowl XL. Mark it down.

Well, with the DVD (Dunn, Vick, Duckett) league leading rushing combination coming back, we're a contender anyway. But the team I think that's the best is, and will be until someone knocks them off, the New England Patriots. Until someone knocks them out of the playoffs or wins the AFC East, that's the best team in the league.

3 votes so far for the eventual super Bowl 40 champions, J-E-T-S! :D

I gotta say the Jets look good. Especially with the addition of Doug Jolley, hes really going to add to your passing game.

I like that the Jets got Coles back and Jolley is a nice addition, but I'd like our chances a lot better if we weren't in the same division as the current Patriot dynasty. <_<

Vikings and Seahawks with more votes than the Eagles? We got some real homers on this board...

That's funny.

The sleeping virus that is T.O. has erupted. After the Bills lost 4 consecutive years, who but homers picked them in year 5?

I know one thing, I need aspirin. the Packers D has gotten worse, if anything, so i'm not too optimistic, even if we get somebody like Law.

I also know that when the Grizzlies made the playoffs last year yall were shocked but I was telling you it was gonna happen during that season. I suspected (elsewhere, I may add) that EA was gonna put a player career mode in Madden, and whaddaya know, they put one in. So when the Cards make the playoffs this year, don't be surprised, and remember I called it. These guys are gonna be named "most improved team" by many, but the only improvement the Cards are gonna make this year is a big one in the standings-they will win the West.

I'm also including the 3 losing NFC championship games before they made it to the Super Bowl. A 5 year run at that level would be unprecident and nearly impossible in this day and age of the NFL.

So why will we be worse though? We didnt lose anyone good in Free Agency, and we didnt even need Owens to get to the SB last yr.

I assume you think the Pats will suck too?

I dont think the Packers can afford Ty Law,and i would reckon they still wanna give Ahmad "I can hold anything in front of me on every play" Carroll another chance.Allthough i would certainly like to see him in Green and Gold

Ah, you twist my words. The title of the thread is "Best NFL Team Next Year" and I don't think the Eagles will be the "Best".

They may not have "needed" T.O. to get there, but he wasn't a distraction either. Now that he is unhappy, he will be. They can't possibly cave and give him the money. He can't possibly be willing to sit all year. So, he will be a problem. The constant, "Donovan, is T.O. a distraction?" will get to McNabb.

Playoff team? Yes.

Best team? No.

As far as the Pats go, they did miss the playoffs after winning one of those 3 SB's. That just reinforces my point that 5 years of sustained excellence is a rarity in any sport.
