While wereon the subject of the Colts D,in one of the dumbest moves IMO,the TiTans trades Rocky Calmus to the Colts for a undisclosed draft pics, and the reason why i said its dumb move (dont get me wrong the draft pick will help )is because they're in the same f~(<ing division.

I believe it was thew cowboys, but i could be wrong.

The Eagles release defensive end Hugh Douglas, fullback Jon Ritchie and punter Sean Landeta.

Landeta was only brought back because the regular punter (Dirk "Diggler" Johnson) was nursing an injury, but he will be fine for the start of the season. HD and Rithie were surprising cuts. HD especially because the birds are a little shorthanded at end, especially with McDougal getting shot-up and still recovering. Plus, HD is a locker room favorite.

I wonder if it has anything to do with his camp altercation with T.O., and the fact that he is rep'd by Drew Rosenhaus.

Ritchie pretty much lost his job after he got hurt last year. I don't think that he is 100% recovered, which is a shame, because he is a real good guy and would have been good for this offense. His replacement Parry has big time stone hands.

Didn't the Broncos cut Quentin Griffin?

Yes, along with some others that Broncos fans are furious over.

Who? Triandos Luke, Matt Mauck, Jeremy LeSueur? What were they expected to do? Darius Watts, Bradlee Van Pelt, and the DBs they drafted this year are just better.

I guess since Griffin is coming off a major injury and the Broncos picked up two much better backs in the off-season, he was expendable.

Mauck, LeSueur, Fatafehi, D.Davis among a few others. Maybe they could go and get Middlebrooks back, seeing as the Niners cut him.

What position is Van Pelt playing these days? He was a terriffic QB at Colorado St. but I think I remember the Broncos drafted him as a Fullback.

BVP is their back-up quarterback. They drafted him as a QB. To tell you the truth, he's not that bad, just needs to work on not overthrowing receivers so much.

I know hes a strange guy though. He went into the draft as a Quarterback/Fullback/Tight End

Well the way he ran last night and the first game, he could easily play running back. Awesome stuff. Avoids sacks like none other, personally I think he moves better than Vick and can throw the ball a lot better, he's also a LOT tougher than Vick.

On a side note, Tatum Bell was awesome last night, everyone was wondering if he could be a tough runner, well he just trucked over one of the Cards starters last night on a big run.

No offence to your defence, but you were screwed EVEN IF they kept Thompson, Truluck and Hunt.

BTW, Jonothan Quinn got released again!!!! <_< no surprise here

but KC also released rookie WR Craphonso Thorpe! What's that about? The Chiefs have only Kennison, Parker, Boerigter, Dante Hall and Chris Horn. There is LITTLE talent there and I know Thorpe isn't great but he's a ROOKIE! Develope him, do something, don't just let some potential talent go away!

Teyo Johnson also got released by the Raiders but that's because there is a rising TE in Oakland, Courtney Anderson, he's 6'7 I think and has good hands.

Well they downgraded from unbelievably horrible, to completely screwed. However they do have some bright spots. Collins, looks great, as does Roy Manning the UFA Linebacker, and Hawkins the CB. However that is our projecting starting 11 on D and wowza that is bad. Favre and Co. better light it up on offense (which they can). However as good as 7th rounder Will Whitticker has looked, him starting at OG scares me. Let's hope thee young guys perform or else it's going to be nasty.

Well, this is what I think of the Pack:

QB:A---It's Brett Favre!

RB:B+---Green and Davenport do a good job, as does Fisher as well, Henderson's getting old though, Luchey is good too though

WR:B+---Walker, Driver,Ferguson,Chatman and rookie Murphy is a solid 5 man team

TE:C+---Bubba has a 7 year deal so the Pack like him but I don't, Martin/Steele are worse than average

OL:B-?---Well I know of Tausher, Klemm and Flanagan and they are above average, but Whittiker starting as a rookie doesn't bode well for the right side

DL:C-minus--O boy.....KGB is a good pass-rusher, Jackson is old and Kampman is steady but Williams shouldn't be starting

LB:D---No more Thompson, no more Navies, ouch. You better hope Barnett and Diggs do a VERY good job.

DB:D+---Collins is young and mistake prone, Harris is good, but not "top CB" good, Roman and Carroll are suspect...

ST:B---Longwell-A but Sander-C minus

OVERALL RATING/GRADE: 79

I'm not an expert but I call myself an above average NFL nerd who probably spends to much time looking at rosters and memerizing stats, but there is my take on the 2005 Green Bay Packers.

QB:A Favre is still a top 5 QB. Nall is an excellent backup, and we also have ROdgers who will hopefully become a star.

RB:A Green is great, and Davenport could start. Fisher is a great 3rd downer.

FB: A Henderson is an elite FB. ANd Luchey coulkd be a starter.

WR:A Walker could be a big star, adn Driver has #1 Ability Ferguson is underrated, and Murphy will be pretty good.

TE:B Franks is a great redzone TE, and a good blocker. However the depth is ridiculously horrible.

OT:A Tauscher and Clifton? That's a good lineup

OG:C+ Whitticker will be good but hes not starter material yet. Klemm is slightly above average. You can plug in Grey Ruegamer as well, who is pretty decent.

C:A Flanagn is a top center. We also have some good depth.

-------------------

DE:B- KGB IS good, but on the decline, Kampan is average

DT:D+ Jackson is also a good DT, but is overweight, older, and injuryprone. Plus he is the only real starting DT we have.

OLB:C- Navies and Lenon? Yikes. We also have Manning, so this could be better than it looks if Lenon plays up to how we looked in preseason.

MLB:B Barnett is very good. Could be a playmaker, but IMO he should be on the outside

CB:C- Harris is a good #2 Corner, and in reality he is our only real starter quality corner. Carrol sucks, hard, and Thomas can't do much better. Hawklins could be starting sooner then later, but I don't think it looks to good.

S:D+ Collins has a load of potential. But I don''t think he's going to be that good one year removed of Bethune Cookman. Also Mark Roman sucks, and sucks hard.

ST:C+ Great kicker, a punter who looks great, and horrible returning. Our ST won't be making any playsd other than Field Goals.

No offense, Pat, but anyone who says "we" in their evaluation has no objectivity.

A means excellent. Brett Farve WAS great, now he is just good. He is no longer a top 5 QB. He makes too many mistakes of overconfidence. I love his grit, I love his heart, and I love his toughness, but he's not elite anymore.

1) Brett Favre had another unbelievable year last year throwing another 30TD's, and 4000 yards. Only 3 players did that last year. Manning and Culpepper and Favre. Plus he's in better shape than last year. I'd still rate him beinhd McNabb and Brady but he is a top 5 quarterback. Those 5 IMO are the best no question, and out of those 5 he is only 1 of 2 with a ring. I'd say he is still elite. I'm sick of people rating people like Drew Brees, and CHad Pennington ahed of Favre, because of his age. Now he does make some stupid plays, especially big picks in the playoffs, but he is no doubt one of the best still out there.

Plus Nall is a very solid back up, and they have a 1st rounder on the bench as the #3. That is what you call a team being "great" at a position is. Depth, and a proven, reliable, and succesful starter.

2)I always say we refering to my favourite teams. Saying "we" as in it is my team I root for and love doens't change the fact they have a great offense, pretty good OLine, and riduclously horrible defense.

Sanders looks great. It's the cover team that looks like crap. As for knocking Favre, he's not what he used to be. But he's still better than most. Thank god he got into better shape, cause his offensive line is not what it used to be.
