robbman21
Gary Thorne(really underrated announcer BTW) was just telling a story of who's bat he had to borrow for the AB and next thing ya know....BAM!So this got me thinking: What players have you seen hit their first Major League home run, either in person or on TV?? I can think of 3.Casey Candaele, when he played for the Expos in 1987(?) versus I *think* the Braves, maybe the Cubs,Mark Grace, and oddly enough Rafael Palmeiro, because WGN used to broadcast every Cubs game. One I remember seeing on ESPN was Carlos Delgado,so I was wondering if Chris or any of my other Canadian friends was watching at the time. Interested to hear any other stories like this. rmackman
Man that's something every kid would dream of to hit a Grand Slam in your first ever MLB at bat! That's nuts! Miguel Cabrera hit a HR in his first game too in 2003. "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports
Suigi
Aaron Hill didn't hit a ding-dong in his first AB, but he did hit a triple in his first game.
