World Series on Fox

Three things:

1) I see they dumped the scoreboard they've been using for a year now. The new one is silver, team names are no longer displayed with the scoreboard look. There is also less beeping and booping (it isn't noticeable  ).

2) They have a new toy that tracks pitches.

It does a few things:

The pitch is traced from the mound to the plate.

Pitch speed

Pitch type

How much the pitch moved (Ex: 6").

3) 2 1/3 innings into the game and no Diamond Cam......yet. Could they have finally seen it's uselessness?

Oh, there's been Diamond Cam. And it still sucks.

The cutting down on cheezy sound effects is nice, but until they're gone totally, it's still cheesy. The whoosh noise on all pitches over 95 mph and the racing engine noises when the graphic bar containing the player's stats turns over (and WTF is that about?) are the two biggest offenders.

Fox does more harm than good in their broadcasts of sports. Their studio shows have gotten progressively worse over time, their gimmicks wear out quickly, the innovations don't make for a better viewing experience, and their overpromotion of their lineup borders on criminal.

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

And now for the immortal question....

What the hell network is Rogers Sportsnet showing?

--Roger "Time?" Clemente.

MLB International... I am so glad they do this now, wish they could during the LDS and LCS too.

I thought the whooshing player stat bar was only for the ASG. <_<

Jennie Zelasko is crap. She loses her rhythm most of the time and talks like a retard.

Also they mentioned last telecast Scooter was signed to a lifetime contract.

You forgot to include the shots of players in the dugout and fans in the stands in between almost every pitch.

In the States, we prefer to call that (overused) shot the "Joe Torre Memorial Nosepickin' Cam".

This, coupled with the modest and inoffensive scoredboard graphic, means...

:flagcanada: chalk up another one for Canada.

And of course there were the obligatory shots of actors from every Fox show currently on the air, most of which I never heard of.

Joe Buck mispronounced Dan Castallaneta's name, and he said something like, the voice of Homer Simpson is here, but Homer isn't. To which Tim McCarver replied, "You know, Joe, we've had three homers tonight."

I wish there wasn't so much static on the radio so I could listen to Jon Miller!

I don't know the announcer's name, but his broadcast partner is Rick Sutcliffe.

I saw, I came, I left.
