Brewers Sunday Home Unis

I agree.  And I suspect that if the sales are strong enough, they will be soon.

Why? Would people suddenly buy it more if it became the home rather then the alt?

It's not just the jerseys that they'd sell more of if the throwbacks went from the alt to the primary - it's everything else. It's caps, jackets, patches, t-shirts, sweatshirts, pennants, and everything else that has the current logo on it.

I believe that the new Brewers owner is using this alt as an opportunity to test the waters before diving in. Using this logo as an alternate will open up lots of merchandise not part of the Cooperstown Collection line and therefore not currently available to customers with the old logo.

If this stuff sells as well as the Cooperstown Collection merchandise does, then I expect him to make the switch full-time.

This may seem like a silly question, but if you still sell the Cooperstown stuff, and even if the new stuff doesn't sell as well (although I have the current blue alt and I wouldn't be caught dead in the old Molitor-Yount Era gear), why would you go full-time to the old stuff if you can make money off of both sets?

If you make the switch back to the old gear, you eliminate the revenue from the new stuff (even if it is smaller). Even if it is 2:1, why eliminate a 1/3 of your sales?

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

Exactly my point

The reason you'd do that is because the stuff you sell with the old logo is only the merchandise that's part of the Cooperstown Collection. That's limited to mostly clothing and a couple other tchochkes. And that stuff sells very well, by all accounts.

The vast majority of merchandise that the team sells is with the current logo, from wallets to jewelry to posters to baseballs to caps to all kinds of things. That stuff, again by all reports, doesn't move at all.

Returning to the old logo will (if the theory is correct) boost sales of all this merchandise.

That's why they might do it - selling more merchandise across the board will outweigh what they make selling two versions of some merchandise.

We'll know for sure on Thursday.  Any Wisconsinites able to send us screencaps?

I gotta bowl (hey, what do you think us folks from 'sconsin do in the winter?), but I'll tape it and do what I can.

When you say bowl, do you mean Bowling? If so I placed third in Wisconsin State last year. Bowl in Ashwabanon(or sumthing)march 20th

Fuel for the fire, from www.milwaukee.brewers.com:

Mailbag: Fans await new uniforms

Brewers set to unveil Sunday jerseys at 'Winter Warm-Up'

By Adam McCalvy / MLB.com

I will be watching this week when the Brewers unveil their new Sunday uniforms, but I'm disappointed that the whole event isn't open to the public. In the last few years the Brewers have hosted a number of fan events and it seems like now they've all been cancelled.

-- Daniel F., Milwaukee

The Brewers have scaled back on some events, but they continue to announce other opportunities including one this week at the Fan Zone store at Miller Park. If you want face time with players and coaches, you can still get it.

On Wednesday night, the day before the "Winter Warm-Up," at which the team will unveil those new uniforms, the Brewers are hosting a pair of autograph sessions. Manager Ned Yost, closer Derrick Turnbow and infielder Bill Hall will sign from 5-6 p.m. CT, followed by first baseman Lyle Overbay, reliever Matt Wise and new Brewers coach Dale Sveum from 6-7 p.m.

According to the team, the store is offering 15-20 percent off some merchandise starting Wednesday through Dec. 4, and ticket representatives will be on hand to answer questions about season ticket packages, including the nine-packs which start at $108. The new jerseys will be available for sale beginning Thursday night.

When the Brewers release their new Sunday uniforms, will they be wearing different hats as well?

-- Mario R., Riverbank, Calif.

Yes, and they will look familiar to longtime fans. Watch the live telecast to see it, listen to the radio broadcast for Jim Powell's description or check MilwaukeeBrewers.com for a look.

I have seen Web sites of new jerseys the Brewers are looking into. Is there any truth behind the Web sites?

-- Michal J., Reedsburg, Wis.

As far as I can tell, no. I have been trying to get an early peek at these things myself because I am just as curious as everyone else. Remember that the "Winter Warm-Up" broadcast, including the new uniform unveiling, is this Thursday from 6-8 p.m. CT on WTMJ radio in Milwaukee and from 7-8 p.m. on FSN North television.

There's more, but that's it for the uniform talk. Which "Web sites" do you think Michal was talking about? :P

Reports are that the Sunday alts will be in the classic royal and athletic gold color scheme.

What reports? I never heard this and I have been following pretty well.

I have a design that I am picturing in my head. I'll post it in a second.

read past post on the uniforms and you will know what reports.

If anything, you'd see the glove on the sleeve.

I'd be surprised if they didn't use the classic colors. I'm also betting that the glove will be on the sleeve, as they wore a couple years back.

The only question for me is what wordmark they will use. We've heard the classic block, but I'm skeptical.

Hmmm...instead of the block lettering, why not the old Milwaukee script (such as you see on Gothamite's sig).

Yes, I know it doesn't match their regular script, which is the fun part. There are some folks on this board whose minds would just asplode. :)

Here is what I am thinking, in current colors, with pinstipes, yet is similar to old home jerseys.

Thatd be such a cop out. Thatd be just basically copying the Pirates alts and slapping the Glove on a hat just to make some extra coin. If theyre gonna do a "Throwback" itd better be like this. i want one of those "Throwback" hats in modern 59fifty
