batman1211 Posted December 27, 2005 Share Posted December 27, 2005 Georgia, LSU, and Mississippi State have all worn white helmets at least one time during the Independence Bowl (according to NationalChamps.net). I do not know the significance of this, but it is not out of the realm of possibilities for an SEC team to wear a different collered helmet during their bowl game. I think it is a pretty cool idea. jab8281965 Posted January 2, 2006 Share Posted January 2, 2006 I believe Mississippi State wore white helmets in 2000 because they were playing an opponent (I think it was Texas A&M) that had the same color helmet.From what I remember, the move may have backfired as the game was played in a torrential snowstorm.
