Eye
Major industry of Washington state--Seattle Supersonics (named for the proposed supersonic jet Boeing was to have built)yeah that is where the sonics name comes from. some girl in my class thought it was for the sonic fast food chain I couldn't help but laugh, but I almost felt bad for her when the pretty much everyone in the class was laughing at her. winghaz
But, EyeRam, you have to admit, there are a few names that can go either way.SuperSonics came from a major industry in Washington state. But fishing is also a major industry in Washington state, so Mariners also fits.Same with the one about Wisconsin. You could pick either Brewers or Packers. And by the way, Mavericks is a name that's applied not just to cattle found in Texas. A maverick is a wayward calf. The REAL team nickname of cattle found in Texas is Longhorns, but they aren't pro.
FiddySicks
"killer" of the westPhoenix Coyotes or Arizona Diamondbacks? Maybe the Vancouver Canucks since they use a killer whale in their logo? Maybe I didn't explain it or whatever, but that was confusing me too, when my teacher gave us the paper. Some of the clues could of been better or more detailed. and the "killer" of the west was the Diamondbacks. I first thought it was Canucks too. WSU151
Major Industry in the Midwest...How about The Pittsburgh Steelers? They are already the answer to the "major industry in western PA" question, and I don't think one team is the answer for two questions in the survey (could be wrong). And really, Pittsburgh isn't in the midwest, at least it isn't for people who live west of the mighty river. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half. OnWis97
This reminded me of a crossword puzzle I did as a kid that used clues like:Across:7) A Dollar for Corn.Down:14) Six Monarchs.7 Across Answer: Buccaneers14 Down Answer: VI-Kings. This reminds me of a NFL game like this we got in elementary school in the 1980s (pre Jags, Texans, Ravens, Titans and Panthers)Some of them include:American GauchosArmy InsectsSeven SquaredA Dollar for Corn (as you provided)Louis Armstrong's Song (or something)6 shootersSix Monarchs (as you provided)Used to be a femaleWow, I forgot most of them... Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."
