Saints Relocation Concept

I think the secondary is trying to do too much. I like the form in the bottom of the new logo. It reminds me of a steer's horns, which is definitely representative of Texas, but I would make them the darker color and connect them to the star.

The ghosted alamo and the black shapes up there are reading as 'scenery' to me rather than design elements. What I think you should do is get rid of the copper section in the top of the logo, making it a one-color badge. Then, to get the Alamo back into it, a good solution would be to have the top outline follow that classic Alamo silhouette, instead of just being an arch as it is now. I would then put an SA in there with the star and horns.

Also, the logo gets lost on a copper helmet.

I hope I'm not the first to say something negative about this concept but I honestly don't really like it. I like where you're going with it though. I love the color scheme, I'm okay with the name too. I just don't really like the snake logo. I think with the copperhead you could do something a lot more intimidating and interesting to look at. I know you were probably trying to get that 'C' shape down but I say forget the C and just go for a cooler looking snake and you might have something here. Oh, and the uniforms are great. I guess my only real criticism here is with the logo itself. However, this is just one man's suggestion. Take it as you will.

For the lettering, maybe if you flip the A horizontally, and keep the italic, that way the logo still has a symetrical feel to it, but some style. If youre not following what I am saying, do a reverse italic basically, where the top is more to the left than the bottom. It slants like "\" rather than "/".

Sidenote, I do like the subtle nod to the alamo. its a great way to incorporate it rather than having the logo surrounded by it. San Antonians probably get sick of the alamo being on everything like St Louis residents do with the arch.

I still think your first secondary logo was your best.

There it is. That shape is excellent. Though, I'd still like the see the horns on the bottom of the star. Honestly, I'd go with a western typeface for the SA monogram. The smooth, obliqued sans typeface doesn't say 'Alamo' to me.

I'm liking that secondary logo. The outline of the Alamo is a nice subtle touch...that really ain't so subtle, but not dominating, either.

I saw one earlier where it loked like you had horns flanking the star with the "S" and the "A" on the star. Here's one idea I got for you: with the start the way it is now, the left and right points elongated that way, could you possibly move the star down to the bottom edge of the logo, include the horns the way you had them, and then put the "S" and the "A" on the left and right parts of the star like you got them just bigger. that way they'd take up more of the "open space" created by the alamo/shield outline.

Oh--and try making the letters white, outlines in black, for more "pop", like you had it the first time.

Just an idea of mine...still a great logo concept, though. (Wishing one day i could be as good at that...)

GMS, I am with the others saying how cool this package is. Your improvements are only making it better.

But on every posted concept there is the guy who doesn't see it, or gives some dumb response that is a head scratcher. We'll see if my comment counts in that category... The snake head C at first glance to me looked like a snake head with a worm, slug, or maggot body. I know the body makes the C, but a snake's body doesn't look like that. Of course by saying that, there's no easy response to it. Either you throw out the comment or try something else.

I love this concept, only thing as mentioned before the snake looks a little short kinda like a grub or worm. Maybe if you kept it the way it is but maybe put a little body coil or something behind it with a tail it would still keep the "C" effect but look more like a snake.

This concept is tremendous.

Some team in some league has to be the San Antonio Copperheads and use this concept right away. The sublimated Alamo graphic in the secondary logo is very creative, and I'm with the majority who said copper is an underused color. Top shelf stuff. Someone call the NFL.

There was something naggingly familiar about the logo, and tonight it finally occurred to me where I'd see something similar - the AFL's Carolina Cobras. See the helmet below.

And BTW, a pox on you sir for associating "Saints" with "relocation." :P

:notworthy:  the only thing i would change would be the color of the helmet ot eather white or black.
really? i thought metallic copper would be a sweet automatic victory for helmet color...

hell, i'll see what the others look like

the only reason i say that is because you have a white jersey, black pants and a copper helmet thats three different colors and im not really a fan of that.

Normally im not either. But considering copper is a very unique color for a football helmet (AZ Rattlers are the only other ones i can think of), and because i dont even want to imagine copper pants or jerseys, i think it works.

i did this concept months ago, got bored today and did up a Reggie Bush photoshop job figured i'd post it...

If New Orleans Relocated to San Antonio....i wonder (fade to dream)

Absolutely amazing. I like it, but I don't think San Antonion needs an NFL franchise. Texas already has two franchises. There are plenty of ofther cities that are more deserving. But, great concept nontheless. Keep up the good work.
