NJTank
Awful trade by the Broncos. Redskins get some insurance for Portis, Falcons get a decent WR for Vick, good move for Atlanta I say. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
Mings
Portis is no longer a first round pick in a fantasy draft. Duckett is gonna steal his TD's.

NDwas
I'm not upset, but I'm sure Ladell Betts and Rock Cartwright are. Those two guys are very capable of carrying the 'Skins with Portis out. They've given up on them so quickly...again. Tomorrow's just your future yesterday.
HedleyLamarr
Portis is no longer a first round pick in a fantasy draft. Duckett is gonna steal his TD's. I have mixed feelings on this deal.I have TJ Duckett on my fantasy team, as well as Roddy White. Duckett's likely getting a lot of playing time in Washington, and will have a great season since he's playing for a new contract. (Not to mention this screws up my friend's fantasy team....he has Ladell Betts, and he's been trying to make deals involving Betts to profit from Portis being injured.)On the other hand, I'm not sure if Lelie will be a starting WR or the #3. I think of Lelie as being the deep threat, just like Roddy White.I guess I'll let this thing play out a week or so before I make any moves. Nick 1733
Okay, so everyone understands this properly...Denver's picks depend on how well both they and Washington do this season. If Denver finishes with a better record/finish than Washington, then they switch picks in the first rould of next year. So if Denver has the 29th pick and Washington has the 15th pick, then they switch picks and Denver gets the 15th and Washington gets the 29th. Also, Denver gets their 3rd round pick no matter what.If Washington finishes ahead of Denver, then Denver just gets their 4th round pick along with the guarenteed 3rd. ZBoyer
Actually, I think this trade works out pretty well for Denver. It was well known that Lelie was not going to play in the Mile High City this year, or perhaps ever again, and by getting possibly a 3rd-round pick for him, they walk off having held their own.Duckett's just going to be insurance in the wake of Portis. FiddySicks
Great move by Washington. They get a good, bruising back who can not only back up Portis, but play along side of him. And average a whopping 1.1 yards a carry as he did in his last 6 Falcons games."One yard and a cloud of dust!" Inaccurate evaluation.A vast majority of Duckett's carries take place inside the 10 and in the latter stages of the game. If you remember anything about the Falcons' 2nd half from last season, they went 2-6, and those two wins were at an awful Detroit, and a Monday night game against the Saints, who were just playing out the schedule. In those other games, they faced Carolina twice, Tampa twice, and a cold Sunday night game in Chicago. You can't fault Duckett because the offense had to go to the passing game in these games.Duckett's dependable inside the 10, and he's a solid runner. And when the 4th quarter rolls around and you've got a lead, Duckett comes in and finishes the defense. Washington's getting a good RB who's been waiting to start. If Portis misses significant time, I think Duckett's going to have a breakout season.
BlueSky
Glad I didn't by that Duckett Jersey I was looking at.Funny, I didn't get a #21 Hall jersey for the same reason Exactly why my most recent purchase was an Archie Manning throwback. He's not going anywhere, unlike Sammy Knight, whose jersey I bought in 2001. In fact, I still have one of those t-shirts with "Saints" on the front and "Williams" and number 34 on the back. No player's name or number, and no stupid self-given nickname. Except for my red UGA football jersey, it just has the "14" on the front, back, and shoulders. A football jersey with no number on it just looks so empty. My 4 Thrashers jerseys, my Team USA hockey jersey, and my white Braves jersey have no names or numbers on them.
