Here is one for the "traditionalist" hockey fans out there

The United States has won two Olympic gold medals in the sport of ice hockey.

Both times the Olympic games were held on American soil.

Since we all know what US state was the setting for the second Olympic gold medal won by the USA, can anyone name the US state that was the site for the USA's first Olympic gold medal in ice hockey?

Just thought I'd throw this out there, thats all.

Don't know much about American Hockey but I know alot about Olympics...

The answer is Lake Placid which would be in New York State according to my Jacaranda Atlas 5th edition.

but that was the second gold medal won by the USA in hockey.

what state was the FIRST gold medal won in?

Fun Fact:

Herb Brooks, the coach of the 1980 'Miracle on Ice' team, was the last person cut from the 1960 Olympic team. While watching the gold medal celebration, his father said "I guess they cut the right guy!"
