Instead of having multiple topics flying around for a handful of concepts I'm just going to pust them in here when I do them. You may hate them you may like them, everyone has different opinions. These concepts are different as they aren't necessarily what I *want* to see, just an alternative to the current design that you may think is an improvement or you may think its 10 steps back! Don't be afraid to tell me what you think, I have a professional career and small-time graphics are just a very, very small free-time thing that I'm just getting into. I'm not going to jump off a bridge if you tell me my design should be run over by a lawnmower, though, I would appreciate more detailed criticism if that is how you feel!

The astute (4 or 5 people) who already saw my first concepts will know that originally I started a seperate thread for the two concepts I made, but I don't like clutter in a forum and now I've made a third concept and there is really no need for yet another thread for my mediocre attempts at a re-made hockey uniform, so I'm just going to stick them all in this thread, feel free to comment on any concept you'd like, none, or all!

This is the original post from my first concept, my favorite team in the West, the Colorado Avalanche.

This is more of a "This wouldn't be so bad" as opposed to a "This is what I want to see" concept. As a diehard Avs fan for over 10 years even the last thing I want is for the avs to change their design. But considering the layout of the Edge 'template', some reports of piping and some of the other designs that have come out, this is my educated guess at what the new Avs sweaters could look like all things considered. This is the first concept I have done, and was inspired to do so due to the fact that I've only seen one Avs Reebok Edge design and it was absolutely horrid and making me very worried about the future of the sweater, so I just had to see something more traditional to the current design on the new template.

Well, didn't have too many comments about my Colorado Avalanche Concept, so figured I'd make something you would all be sure to hate!

This is a Florida Panthers Concept. Personally, I think theres too many red teams, and, Personally, I'm a fan of the Miami Dolphins color scheme. I know, I know, that makes me 1 of about 9 who are, but I decided to see what it could look like with the Panthers. I think the Alternative logo looks particularly nice in this color scheme, but of course it's not proper for the main logo on a sweater, its strictly designed to be secondary.

While the Avalanche concept was more of what I think might be coming with the new edge design, we obviously know this is not what the Panthers are going to do as they've already released theirs, but maybe this one is just where I'd like to see them go. So, feel free to hate if you'd like, it's only my second concept anyway

I think it looks good, way more Florida-esque colours. However it would probably be criticised alot for being Dolphin colors.

So you've noticed that people only comment on crappy concepts too? haha. I think it would look better if you took out the triangles and thickend the white line on the bottom to match the top.

What about the Kings having Lakers colors and the Pens having Pirates colors back in 67? If no one cared back then, I doubt anyone would care now. Just like the purple and gold are synonymous with Los Angeles and the black and yellow are synonymous with Pittsburgh, those colors just go with Miami, and I don't think anyone would mind the Panthers and Dolphins sharing the same ones.

Yea, I figured someone would have something to say about the triangles, but without them its just a concept with a couple of stripes on it, too plain for me Originally I had "cat scratch" marks on the sides, I changed them to triangles after i converted the panthers secondary logo to the color scheme and noted the similarities the secondary had with the dolphins logo, with the triangular shapes coming out to make the rays of the sun, so I decided to incorporate them into the kit since the secondary really can't be emphasized with this team much

Definitely lose the triangles... maybe put the cat scratch into the sleeves instead?

I agree with you completely, WAY TOO MUCH RED in the NHL right now.

But I have too agree with most people, loose the triangles. I don't even know if you need to replace them.

Instead of just matching another pro team in town, you should experiment with other Florida-esque colors. The appeal of having all the teams in a market matching colors is lost on me. True, some colors are overused in all of major sports. However, the orange logo looses distinction against the aqua. Otherwise, I agree with the others regarding the triangles.

As per the renaming of this thread, here is my Carolina Hurricanes Concept. I wanted to rename the thread so I didn't have to make a new one everytime I found some free time and made a concept, it just gets messy that way. One thread is enough for me. Like the Avalanche, I don't have any objections with the Hurricanes current jersey, but decided to come up with a little something different anyway, just to see what it looked like. Personally, I usually associate hurricanes with water and clouds, so I wanted to de-emphasize the red just a little bit, again, just to see what it looked like! Feel free to comment positive/negative or indifferently.

Yea, thats why I didnt remove it because of the importance of the alternate logo

Wow! I actually like that Hurricanes concept a LOT! The striping pattern and the addition of the light blue looks real nice IMO. I dunno, it might just be me, cause light/powder/carolina blue always seems to make something a little better to me.

Anyway, I really like where your going with all these. I'm not to sold on the Panthers one, the colors seem...ok, but I liked the original colors better. I like the Avs concept a lot too, nice way to have an update, but still keep some of the originals intact. Very nice job on all these, can't wait to see somemore!

Wow that's a really nice Hurricanes concept. I like the colours because it's very North Carolina-ish. Also, you don't see the light blue-red-black colour combination very often and that makes the jerseys original. It's a shame you had to keep that crappy Hurricanes logo, but other than that, I frickin love this concept. Great job.

Yea. These are my thoughts too. Except, maybe make the red a little darker.

Thanks for the comments so far guys, I'm glad you liked the Carolina Hurricanes one. This one is going to be a bit of a sideways step, as the team no longer exists in the NHL, but who knows, maybe one day in the future they'll be back. I have a feeling if they do come back, the overwhelming vintage movement of the last few years will have its impact, and the Quebec Nordiques would keep their old colors. But they were always planning a new look. What I've tried to do is take the mid-90's logo they were going for, bring to the level of the way current teams are branding themselves and give it an old-school Nordiques scheme with a brand new look in the same process.

I don't like these colors. The bottom stripe is by far my favorite part, I really want to see what the colrs look like in red and black (and silver) only. This also wouldn't work since the Thrashers identity is all light blue, and they would be in the same division.

Nordiques:

I'm looking back and forth between the Nordiques and Panthers, and the striping looks basically the same. Other than that, the design is okay. Not sold on the wolf logo though.

I'm looking back and forth between the Nordiques and Panthers, and the striping looks basically the same.

They are somewhat similar in that there is a somewhat angled design on the bottom and different color shoulders, but they aren't really that similar
