OHL's Windsor Spitfires Unveil New Look

Well, just in time for their move to their new arena.... I don't like it. They had some good ideas with the shield, and the plane, but the wordmark and the "mouth" on the plane really brought the logo down (pardon the pun)

Just to make sure:

"They're actually Washington Capital uniforms with a new logo," (Bob) Boughner said.

I saw, I came, I left.

I agree with the 'shark mouth' on the plane...from a historical point of view. The Spitfires were a British manufactured plane made before, during, and after WWII (the only plane in the war to do so). The classic 'shark mouth' is more commonly associated with the Curtiss P-40 and the AVG Flying Tigers of the Chinese (US) Air Force:

Even though the Spitfires did see some Asian action I can't remember them ever being associated with the 'shark mouth'.

The image of the Spitfires will always be of them over Britian shooting down the Jerrys in the Battle of Britian.

Not bad logo, but wouldn't say its a upgrade imo.

I was fine with their recent logo, and if they where going to go with an upgrade I was hoping minor changes.

But on the other note, am I the only one who thinks it looks similar to Phil's Winnipeg Pilots logo that he created ?

Wow... those look awful... they should have kept their old jerseys... or their throwbacks from last season which were gorgeous.

So that's what an Edge template would look like on a regular cut jersey?! Aye. That's a big hem stripe.

I just got tickets to the final game at Windsor Arena this thursday, really hoping they wear their throwbacks and save the ugly new ones for the new arena.

here's a few more shots from the press conference, courtesy windsorspitfires.com

the shoulder patch looks great, they kept Mickey Renaud's #18 in there.

These 2 are going to be solid NHL players very soon... Hall is projected to be the #1 pick next year, and Ryan Ellis should go pretty high this year.

The shoulder patch is nice. Maybe that should have been the primary logo.

Well, it is essentially their original primary logo, just in a circle instead of a rounded rectangle.

#1 according to who? I've only ever seen Victor Hedman and John Tavares slotted 1-2.
